ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਹਰਿਆ ॥

naam japat man tan sabh hariaa |

Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body are totally rejuvenated.

ਕਲਮਲ ਦੋਖ ਸਗਲ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥

kalamal dokh sagal parahariaa |1|

All sins and sorrows are washed away. ||1||

ਸੋਈ ਦਿਵਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥

soee divas bhalaa mere bhaaee |

How blessed is that day, O my Siblings of Destiny,

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

har gun gaae param gat paaee | rahaau |

when the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung, and the supreme status is obtained. ||Pause||

ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਜੇ ਪੈਰ ॥

saadh janaa ke pooje pair |

Worshipping the feet of the Holy Saints,

ਮਿਟੇ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਹ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ॥੨॥

mitte upadrah man te bair |2|

troubles and hatred are eliminated from the mind. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥

gur poore mil jhagar chukaaeaa |

Meeting with the Perfect Guru, conflict is ended,

ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਸਭਿ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੩॥

panch doot sabh vasagat aaeaa |3|

and the five demons are totally subdued. ||3||

ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

jis man vasiaa har kaa naam |

One whose mind is filled with the Name of the Lord,

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੪॥੪॥੯੮॥

naanak tis aoopar kurabaan |4|4|98|

O Nanak - I am a sacrifice to him. ||4||4||98||
