ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਫਲ ਜਨੰਮੁ ਜਗਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਇਆ ।

guramukh safal janam jag vich aaeaa |

Blest is the birth of a gurmukh and his coming to this world.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪੂਰ ਕਰੰਮ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ।

guramat poor karam aap gavaaeaa |

In accordance with the wisdom of the Guru he deletes his ego and accomplishes the (virtuous) actions.

ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਕੰਮੁ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ।

bhaau bhagat kar kam sukh fal paaeaa |

He works controlled by his love for work and loving devotion, and receives the pleasure fruit (of life).

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਇਆ ।

gur upades agam ridai vasaaeaa |

The inaccessible teachings of the Guru he adopts in his heart.

ਧੀਰਜੁ ਧੁਜਾ ਧਰੰਮੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ।

dheeraj dhujaa dharam sehaj subhaaeaa |

Keeping of the flag of forbearance and dharma high, becomes his innate nature.

ਸਹੈ ਨ ਦੂਖ ਸਹੰਮੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਇਆ ।੧੦।

sahai na dookh saham bhaanaa bhaaeaa |10|

He bows before the will of the Lord and never suffers any fear or sorrow.
