NARAAJ STANZA
ਸੁ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕੋ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਦੂਜ ਭਾਖਿ ਹੈ ॥
su dhaar avataar ko bichaar dooj bhaakh hai |
ਬਿਸੇਖ ਚਤ੍ਰਾਨ ਕੇ ਅਸੇਖ ਸ੍ਵਾਦ ਚਾਖਿ ਹੈ ॥
bisekh chatraan ke asekh svaad chaakh hai |
After assuming the incarnation, Brahma, with the fullness of his heart and in a special way, presented his thoughts
ਅਕਰਖ ਦੇਵਿ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਅਨਿਰਖ ਸਬਦ ਉਚਰੋ ॥
akarakh dev kaalikaa anirakh sabad ucharo |
ਸੁ ਬੀਨ ਬੀਨ ਕੈ ਬਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਬੀਨ ਅਛ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਧਰੋ ॥੧॥
su been been kai badde praabeen achhr ko dharo |1|
He remembered the Lord and composed the songs and prepared the epic skillfully arranging the selected words.1.
ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਆਦਿ ਈਸ੍ਵਰੀ ਅਪਾਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਾਖੀਐ ॥
bichaar aad eesvaree apaar sabad raakheeai |
ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਜੁ ਚਾਹੀਐ ਸੁ ਭਾਖੀਐ ॥
chitaar kripaa kaal kee ju chaaheeai su bhaakheeai |
For the divine thoughts, he created the word `Brahm` and by remembering the Lord and with His grace, he narrated whatever he wanted
ਨ ਸੰਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਨੀਐ ਬਨਾਇ ਆਪ ਲੇਹਗੇ ॥
n sank chit aaneeai banaae aap lehage |
ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਬਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੀ ਕਬੀਸ ਔਰ ਦੇਹਗੇ ॥੨॥
su krit kaab krit kee kabees aauar dehage |2|
He unhesitatingly, composed in this way the, fine epic Ramayana, which none else will be able to do.2.
ਸਮਾਨ ਗੁੰਗ ਕੇ ਕਵਿ ਸੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਕਾਬਿ ਭਾਖ ਹੈ ॥
samaan gung ke kav su kaise kaab bhaakh hai |
ਅਕਾਲ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਬਨਾਇ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਰਾਖਿ ਹੈ ॥
akaal kaal kee kripaa banaae granth raakh hai |
All the poets are dumb before him, how will they compose poetry? He composed this granth by the Grace of the Lord
ਸੁ ਭਾਖ︀ਯ ਕਉਮਦੀ ਪੜੇ ਗੁਨੀ ਅਸੇਖ ਰੀਝ ਹੈ ॥
su bhaakhay kaumadee parre gunee asekh reejh hai |
ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਆਪਨੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ਬਿਸੇਖ ਚਿਤਿ ਖੀਝਿ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
bichaar aapanee kritan bisekh chit kheejh hai |3|
The erudite scholars of language and and literature read it with pleasure, and while comparing with their own works, they get angry in their minds.3.
ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਾਬ੍ਰਯ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਜ ਭਾਖੀਐ ॥
bachitr kaabray kee kathaa pavitr aaj bhaakheeai |
ਸੁ ਸਿਧ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਦਾਇਨੀ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਧ ਬੈਨ ਰਾਖੀਐ ॥
su sidh bridh daaeinee samridh bain raakheeai |
The story of his immaculate poem which is really wonderful accomplished and powerful, this story is
ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਮਹਾ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਾਬ੍ਰਯ ਕਥੀਐ ॥
pavitr niramalee mahaa bachitr kaabray katheeai |
ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਬਦ ਊਪਜੈ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੌ ਨ ਕਿਜੀਐ ॥੪॥
pavitr sabad aoopajai charitr kau na kijeeai |4|
His poem is said to be extremly pure and each of its episodies is spotless, sanctified and marvelous.4.
ਸੁ ਸੇਵ ਕਾਲ ਦੇਵ ਕੀ ਅਭੇਵ ਜਾਨਿ ਕੀਜੀਐ ॥
su sev kaal dev kee abhev jaan keejeeai |
According to the instructions given in Ramayana, we should ever be in the service of the Lord
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਉਠਿ ਤਾਸੁ ਕੋ ਮਹਾਤ ਨਾਮ ਲੀਜੀਐ ॥
prabhaat utth taas ko mahaat naam leejeeai |
We should get up early In the morning and remember His Name
ਅਸੰਖ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹਿਗੋ ਦੁਰੰਤ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਘਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
asankh daan dehigo durant satru ghaae hai |
Through the glory of His Name, many mighty enemies are killed and the charities of innumerable types are bestowed
ਸੁ ਪਾਨ ਰਾਖਿ ਆਪਨੋ ਅਜਾਨ ਕੋ ਬਚਾਇ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
su paan raakh aapano ajaan ko bachaae hai |5|
That Lord, also keeping his name on our heads, protects the ignorant people like us.5.
ਨ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਕਿ ਹੈ ਅਸੰਤ ਜੂਝਿ ਹੈ ਬਲੀ ॥
n sant baar baak hai asant joojh hai balee |
ਬਿਸੇਖ ਸੈਨ ਭਾਜ ਹੈ ਸਿਤੰਸ ਰੇਣ ਨਿਰਦਲੀ ॥
bisekh sain bhaaj hai sitans ren niradalee |
Even after the fighting of many mighty warriors, the saints remain unharmed and before the forces of agony and before the white arrows of His Grace and tranquility, the forces of agony and affliction fly away
ਕਿ ਆਨਿ ਆਪੁ ਹਾਥ ਦੈ ਬਚਾਇ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੇਹਿੰਗੇ ॥
ki aan aap haath dai bachaae mohi lehinge |
ਦੁਰੰਤ ਘਾਟ ਅਉਘਟੇ ਕਿ ਦੇਖਨੈ ਨ ਦੇਹਿੰਗੇ ॥੬॥
durant ghaatt aaughatte ki dekhanai na dehinge |6|
That Lord with His Grace will save me and I shall never pass through any condition of suffering and hardship.6.
ਇਤਿ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਬਾਲਮੀਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥੧॥
