ਬਾਨ ਚਲੇ ਤੇਈ ਕੁੰਕਮ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਮੂਠ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਕੀ ਸਾਗ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੀ ॥

baan chale teee kunkam maanahu mootth gulaal kee saag prahaaree |

The arrows are being discharged like the vermilion diffused in air and the blood flowing with the blows of the lances seemed like gulal (red colour)

ਢਾਲ ਮਨੋ ਡਫ ਮਾਲ ਬਨੀ ਹਥ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਛੁਟੇ ਪਿਚਕਾਰੀ ॥

dtaal mano ddaf maal banee hath naal bandook chhutte pichakaaree |

The shields have become like tabors and the guns look like the pumps

ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਭਰੇ ਪਟ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੇ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਨੁ ਘੋਰ ਕੈ ਕੇਸਰ ਡਾਰੀ ॥

sraun bhare patt beeran ke upamaa jan ghor kai kesar ddaaree |

The clothes of the warriors filled with blood appear having been saturated with dissolved saffron.
