Third Mehl:

ਕਲਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥

kal keerat paragatt chaanan sansaar |

In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praise has appeared as a Light in the world.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋਈ ਉਤਰੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥

guramukh koee utarai paar |

How rare are those few Gurmukhs who swim across to the other side!

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਵੈ ॥

jis no nadar kare tis devai |

The Lord bestows His Glance of Grace;

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਸੋ ਲੇਵੈ ॥੨॥

naanak guramukh ratan so levai |2|

O Nanak, the Gurmukh receives the jewel. ||2||
