Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਾਈ ਰੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥

maaee ree kaattee jam kee faas |

O mother, the noose of Death has been cut away.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਤ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਬੀਚੇ ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

har har japat sarab sukh paae beeche grasat udaas |1| rahaau |

Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have found total peace. I remain unattached in the midst of my household. ||1||Pause||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਉਪਜੀ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ॥

kar kirapaa leene kar apune upajee daras piaas |

Granting His Grace, He has made me His Own. The thirst for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan wells up within me.

ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਦੁਤੀਆ ਆਸ ॥੧॥

santasang mil har gun gaae binasee duteea aas |1|

Joining the Society of the Saints, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; I have given up other hopes. ||1||

ਮਹਾ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਅਟਵੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਢੇ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੰਤ ਕਹਿਓ ॥

mahaa udiaan attavee te kaadte maarag sant kahio |

The Saint has pulled me out of the utterly desolate wilderness, and shown me the path.

ਦੇਖਤ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਪ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤਨੁ ਲਹਿਓ ॥੨॥੧੦੦॥੧੨੩॥

dekhat daras paap sabh naase har naanak ratan lahio |2|100|123|

Gazing upon His Darshan, all sins are taken away; Nanak is blessed with the jewel of the Lord. ||2||100||123||
