ਅਧਿਕ ਦੁਖੀ ਪੁਰ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਉਪਾਇ ॥

adhik dukhee pur jan bhe kachhoo na chaliyo upaae |

Whole populace was in turmoil but they were helpless to do anything.

ਚਲਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਚਰਨ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥੩੨॥

chalat firat yaa ko nirakh rahe charan lapattaae |32|

Seeing them walking in, they fell on their feet (and begged),(32)
