ਗੁਰ ਚੇਲਾ ਚੇਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣਿ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਸਦਾਵੈ ।

gur chelaa chelaa guroo gur sikh sun gurasikh sadaavai |

Having listened to the teachings of the Guru the disciple and the Guru become one (in form and spirit).

ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਇਕੁ ਅਰਾਧਣਾ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਵਰਜਿ ਰਹਾਵੈ ।

eik man ik araadhanaa baahar jaandaa varaj rahaavai |

He with single mind adores the one Lord and keeps his straying mind under control.

ਹੁਕਮੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਖਸਮੈ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ।

hukamee bandaa hoe kai khasamai daa bhaanaa tis bhaavai |

He becomes obedient servant of the lord and loves His will and command.

ਮੁਰਦਾ ਹੋਇ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਸੋਇ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਗੋਰਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ।

muradaa hoe mureed soe ko viralaa gur gor samaavai |

Any rare Sikh becoming disciple be a dead person enters the guru-grave.

ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਪਾ ਖਾਕੁ ਹੋਇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਉਪਰਿ ਸੀਸੁ ਧਰਾਵੈ ।

pairee pai paa khaak hoe pairaan upar sees dharaavai |

Falling on the feet and becoming dust of the feet, he reposes his head on the feet of the Guru.

ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਆਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਨ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ।

aap gavaae aap hoe doojaa bhaau na nadaree aavai |

Becoming one with Him he loses his ego and now the sense of duality is nowhere visible with him.

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ।੧੬।

gur sikhee gur sikh kamaavai |16|

Such an accomplishment is had only by Sikh of the Guru.
