Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਬਹਤੀ ਜਾਤ ਕਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਧਾਰਤ ॥

bahatee jaat kade drisatt na dhaarat |

Your life is slipping away, but you never even notice.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਪਾਰਚ ॥੧॥

mithiaa moh bandheh nit paarach |1|

You are constantly entangled in false attachments and conflicts. ||1||

ਮਾਧਵੇ ਭਜੁ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਤ ਰੈਣੀ ॥

maadhave bhaj din nit rainee |

Meditate, vibrate constantly, day and night, on the Lord.

ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

janam padaarath jeet har saranee |1| rahaau |

You shall be victorious in this priceless human life, in the Protection of the Lord's Sanctuary. ||1||Pause||

ਕਰਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਦੋਊ ਕਰ ਝਾਰਤ ॥

karat bikaar doaoo kar jhaarat |

You eagerly commit sins and practice corruption,

ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਰਿਦ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਧਾਰਤ ॥੨॥

raam ratan rid til nahee dhaarat |2|

But you do not enshrine the jewel of the Lord's Name within your heart, even for an instant. ||2||

ਭਰਣ ਪੋਖਣ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਣੀ ॥

bharan pokhan sang aaudh bihaanee |

Feeding and pampering your body, your life is passing away,

ਜੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੩॥

jai jagadees kee gat nahee jaanee |3|

but you do not experience the state of victory of the Lord of the Universe. ||3||

ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥

saran samarath agochar suaamee |

So enter the Sanctuary of the All-powerful, Unfathomable Lord and Master.

ਉਧਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੩੩॥

audhar naanak prabh antarajaamee |4|27|33|

O God, O Searcher of hearts, please, save Nanak! ||4||27||33||
