ਤੇਰਹ ਤਾਲ ਅਊਰਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਤਪੁ ਤਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਇਆ ।

terah taal aaooriaa guramukh sukh tap taal puraaeaa |

Thirteen beats of music are incomplete but gurmukh with his accomplishment of the rythm (of household life) attains delight.

ਤੇਰਹ ਰਤਨ ਅਕਾਰਥੇ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ।

terah ratan akaarathe gur upades ratan dhan paaeaa |

Thirteen jewels are also futile for the Gurmukh who gets the jewel of teaching of the Guru.

ਤੇਰਹ ਪਦ ਕਰਿ ਜਗ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਿਤਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ।

terah pad kar jag vich pitar karam kar bharam bhulaaeaa |

The ritualistic people have overawed the people in their thirteen types of rituals.

ਲਖ ਲਖ ਜਗ ਨ ਪੁਜਨੀ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਚਰਣੋਦਕ ਪੀਆਇਆ ।

lakh lakh jag na pujanee gurasikh charanodak peeaeaa |

Myriad burnt offerings (yajna) cannot be equated with nectar of the feet of gurmukh.

ਜਗ ਭੋਗ ਨਈਵੇਦ ਲਖ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਇਕੁ ਦਾਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ ।

jag bhog neeved lakh guramukh mukh ik daanaa paaeaa |

Even one grain of gurmukh;s is equal to millions of yajnas, offerings and edibles.

ਗੁਰਭਾਈ ਸੰਤੁਸਟੁ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਚਖਾਇਆ ।

gurabhaaee santusatt kar guramukh sukh fal piram chakhaaeaa |

And by making their fellow disciples of the Guru content, the Gurmukhs remain happy.

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਛਲੁ ਛਲਾਇਆ ।੧੩।

bhagat vachhal hoe achhal chhalaaeaa |13|

God is undeceivable but He is dodged by the devotees.
