Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਸਿਉ ਰੁਚ ਨਾਹਿ ॥

jiseh saaj nivaajiaa tiseh siau ruch naeh |

You feel no love for the One who created and embellished you.

ਆਨ ਰੂਤੀ ਆਨ ਬੋਈਐ ਫਲੁ ਨ ਫੂਲੈ ਤਾਹਿ ॥੧॥

aan rootee aan boeeai fal na foolai taeh |1|

The seed, planted out season, does not germinate; it does not produce flower or fruit. ||1||

ਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਤ੍ਰ ਬੀਜਣ ਨਾਉ ॥

re man vatr beejan naau |

O mind, this is the time to plant the seed of the Name.

ਬੋਇ ਖੇਤੀ ਲਾਇ ਮਨੂਆ ਭਲੋ ਸਮਉ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

boe khetee laae manooaa bhalo smau suaau |1| rahaau |

Focus your mind, and cultivate this crop; at the proper time, make this your purpose. ||1||Pause||

ਖੋਇ ਖਹੜਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਜਾਇ ॥

khoe khaharraa bharam man kaa satigur saranee jaae |

Eradicate the stubbornness and doubt of your mind, and go to the Sanctuary of the True Guru.

ਕਰਮੁ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੨॥

karam jis kau dhurahu likhiaa soee kaar kamaae |2|

He alone does such deeds, who has such pre-ordained karma. ||2||

ਭਾਉ ਲਾਗਾ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਸਿਉ ਘਾਲ ਪਾਈ ਥਾਇ ॥

bhaau laagaa gobid siau ghaal paaee thaae |

He falls in love with the Lord of the Universe, and his efforts are approved.

ਖੇਤਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਨਿਖੁਟਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥

khet merai jamiaa nikhutt na kabahoo jaae |3|

My crop has germinated, and it shall never be used up. ||3||

ਪਾਇਆ ਅਮੋਲੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੋ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਇ ॥

paaeaa amol padaaratho chhodd na katahoo jaae |

I have obtained the priceless wealth, which shall never leave me or go anywhere else.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਇ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੩॥

kahu naanak sukh paaeaa tripat rahe aaghaae |4|4|13|

Says Nanak, I have found peace; I am satisfied and fulfilled. ||4||4||13||
