ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

sireeraag mahalaa 3 |

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:

ਆਪਣਾ ਭਉ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਓਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

aapanaa bhau tin paaeon jin gur kaa sabad beechaar |

Those who contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad are filled with the Fear of God.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਚੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿ ॥

satasangatee sadaa mil rahe sache ke gun saar |

They remain forever merged with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; they dwell upon the Glories of the True One.

ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮੈਲੁ ਚੁਕਾਈਅਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥

dubidhaa mail chukaaeean har raakhiaa ur dhaar |

They cast off the filth of their mental duality, and they keep the Lord enshrined in their hearts.

ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੧॥

sachee baanee sach man sache naal piaar |1|

True is their speech, and true are their minds. They are in love with the True One. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰ ਨਾਲਿ ॥

man mere haumai mail bhar naal |

O my mind, you are filled with the filth of egotism.

ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

har niramal sadaa sohanaa sabad savaaranahaar |1| rahaau |

The Immaculate Lord is eternally Beautiful. We are adorned with the Word of the Shabad. ||1||Pause||

ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

sachai sabad man mohiaa prabh aape le milaae |

God joins to Himself those whose minds are fascinated with the True Word of His Shabad.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

anadin naame ratiaa jotee jot samaae |

Night and day, they are attuned to the Naam, and their light is absorbed into the Light.

ਜੋਤੀ ਹੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥

jotee hoo prabh jaapadaa bin satagur boojh na paae |

Through His Light, God is revealed. Without the True Guru, understanding is not obtained.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਆਇ ॥੨॥

jin kau poorab likhiaa satagur bhettiaa tin aae |2|

The True Guru comes to meet those who have such pre-ordained destiny. ||2||

ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਡੁਮਣੀ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਇ ॥

vin naavai sabh ddumanee doojai bhaae khuaae |

Without the Name, all are miserable. In the love of duality, they are ruined.

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਜੀਵਦੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥

tis bin gharree na jeevadee dukhee rain vihaae |

Without Him, I cannot survive even for an instant, and my life-night passes in anguish.

ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਅੰਧੁਲਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥

bharam bhulaanaa andhulaa fir fir aavai jaae |

Wandering in doubt, the spiritually blind come and go in reincarnation, over and over again.

ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥

nadar kare prabh aapanee aape le milaae |3|

When God Himself bestows His Glance of Grace, He blends us into Himself. ||3||

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਕਿਉ ਮੁਕਰਿ ਪਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

sabh kichh sunadaa vekhadaa kiau mukar peaa jaae |

He hears and sees everything. How can anyone deny Him?

ਪਾਪੋ ਪਾਪੁ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਪਾਪੇ ਪਚਹਿ ਪਚਾਇ ॥

paapo paap kamaavade paape pacheh pachaae |

Those who sin again and again, shall rot and die in sin.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥

so prabh nadar na aavee manamukh boojh na paae |

God's Glance of Grace does not come to them; those self-willed manmukhs do not obtain understanding.

ਜਿਸੁ ਵੇਖਾਲੇ ਸੋਈ ਵੇਖੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੫੬॥

jis vekhaale soee vekhai naanak guramukh paae |4|23|56|

They alone see the Lord, unto whom He reveals Himself. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs find Him. ||4||23||56||
