ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਤਹ ਕੋ ਉਠਿ ਸੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹਯ ਦੀਰਘ ਪੈ ਤਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
praat chaliyo teh ko utth so rip hvai hay deeragh pai teh aayo |
Keshi started early in the morning and assuming the form of a big horse, he reached Braja
ਦੇਖਤ ਜਾਹਿ ਦਿਨੇਸ ਡਰਿਓ ਮਘਵਾ ਜਿਹ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਡਰ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
dekhat jaeh dines ddario maghavaa jih pekhat hee ddar paayo |
Seeing him the sun and Indra were filled with fear
ਗ੍ਵਾਰ ਡਰੇ ਤਿਹ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਊਪਰ ਸੀਸ ਝੁਕਾਯੋ ॥
gvaar ddare tih dekhat hee har paaein aoopar sees jhukaayo |
The frightened gopas seeing him also bowed their heads at the feet of Krishna
ਧੀਰ ਭਯੋ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਰਨ ਦੁੰਦ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥੭੭੭॥
dheer bhayo jaduraae tabai tih so kup kai ran dund machaayo |777|
Seeing all this, Krishna became resolute with composure and on this side Keshi started a dreadful fighting.777.
ਕੋਪ ਭਯੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਤਬ ਪਾਉ ਕੀ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਚੋਟ ਚਲਾਈ ॥
kop bhayo rip ke man mai tab paau kee kaanrah ko chott chalaaee |
ਦੀਨ ਨ ਲਾਗਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਤਨੈ ਸੁ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਬਚਾਈ ॥
deen na laagan sayaam tanai su bhalee bidh so jaduraae bachaaee |
The enemy Keshi, in rage, attacked Krishna with his feet, but Krishna did not let him touch his body and saved himself nicely
ਫੇਰਿ ਗਹਿਓ ਸੋਊ ਪਾਇਨ ਤੇ ਕਰ ਮੋ ਨ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਦਯੋ ਹੈ ਬਗਾਈ ॥
fer gahio soaoo paaein te kar mo na rahiyo su dayo hai bagaaee |
Then Krishna caught hold of the feet of Keshi and raising him threw him at a distance,
ਜਿਉ ਲਰਕਾ ਬਟ ਫੈਕਤ ਹੈ ਤਿਮ ਚਾਰ ਸੈ ਪੈਗ ਪਰਿਓ ਸੋਊ ਜਾਈ ॥੭੭੮॥
jiau larakaa batt faikat hai tim chaar sai paig pario soaoo jaaee |778|
Just as the boys throw the wooden stick, Kehsi fell down at a distance of four hundred steps.778.
ਫੇਰਿ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਤਬੈ ਬਲ ਵਾ ਰਿਪੁ ਤੁੰਡ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
fer sanbhaar tabai bal vaa rip tundd pasaar har aoopar dhaayo |
Again stabilising himself and spreading his mouth Keshi fell upon Krishna
ਲੋਚਨ ਕਾਢਿ ਬਡੇ ਡਰਵਾਨ ਕਿਧੌ ਜਿਨ ਤੇ ਨਭ ਲੋਕ ਡਰਾਯੋ ॥
lochan kaadt badde ddaravaan kidhau jin te nabh lok ddaraayo |
Being used to frighten the heavenly beings, he opened his eyes wide and began to terrorise
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਦਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਮੈ ਕਰ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਜਸ ਭਾਯੋ ॥
sayaam dayo tih ke mukh mai kar taa chhab ko man mai jas bhaayo |
Krishna put his hand in his mouth and it seemed that Krishna, assuming the form of death,
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਹੈ ਕਰ ਕਾਲ ਮਨੋ ਤਨ ਕੇਸੀ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਨਿਕਾਸਨ ਆਯੋ ॥੭੭੯॥
kaanrah ko hai kar kaal mano tan kesee te praan nikaasan aayo |779|
Was electing the life-force from the body of Keshi.779.
ਤਿਨਿ ਬਾਹ ਕਟੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਨ ਸੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦਾਤ ਤਬੈ ਝਰ ਗੇ ॥
tin baah kattee har daatan so tih ke sabh daat tabai jhar ge |
He (Keshi) tried to penetrate his teeth in the arm of Krishna, but his teeth fell off
ਜੋਊ ਆਇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸਮ ਓਰਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਊ ਹੈ ਗਰ ਗੇ ॥
joaoo aae manorath kai man mai sam oran kee soaoo hai gar ge |
The object for which he had come, was defeated
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੋਊ ਜੂਝਿ ਪਰੋ ਛਿਤ ਪੈ ਨ ਸੋਊ ਫਿਰ ਕੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਘਰ ਗੇ ॥
tab hee soaoo joojh paro chhit pai na soaoo fir kai apune ghar ge |
He could not go back to his house and while fighting fell down on the earth
ਅਬ ਕਾਨਰ ਕੇ ਕਰ ਲਾਗਤ ਹੀ ਮਰਿ ਗਯੋ ਵਹ ਪਾਪ ਸਭੈ ਹਰ ਗੇ ॥੭੮੦॥
ab kaanar ke kar laagat hee mar gayo veh paap sabhai har ge |780|
He died at the hands of Krishna and all his sins were destroyed.780.
ਰਾਵਨ ਜਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਰਾਮ ਮਰਿਓ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੋ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਨਰਕਾਸੁਰ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
raavan jaa bidh raam mario bidh jo kar kai narakaasur maariyo |
The method by which Ram killed Ravana and the method with which narakasura died,
ਜਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਕੇ ਰਛਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿਨਾਕਸ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਓ ਨ ਉਬਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jiau prahalaad ke rachhan ko harinaakas maar ddario na ubaariyo |
The method with which Hiranyakashipu was killed by the Lord for the protection of Prahlad
ਜਿਉ ਮਧੁ ਕੈਟ ਮਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਪਾਵਕ ਲੀਲ ਲਈ ਡਰੁ ਟਾਰਯੋ ॥
jiau madh kaitt mare kar chakr lai paavak leel lee ddar ttaarayo |
The manner in which Madhu and Kaitabh were killed and the Lord drank away Davanal,
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਰਾਖਨ ਕੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਅਪਨੋ ਬਲ ਦੈਤ ਪਛਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੭੮੧॥
tiau har santan raakhan ko kar kai apano bal dait pachhaariyo |781|
In the same manner for the protection of the saints, Krishna with his strength, overthrew keshi.781.
ਮਾਰਿ ਬਡੇ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਗਊਅਨ ਲੈ ਸੁ ਗਏ ਬਨ ਮੈ ॥
maar badde rip ko har joo sang gaooan lai su ge ban mai |
After killing the great enemy, Krishna went to the forest with his cows
ਮਨ ਸੋਕ ਸਭੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਅਤਿ ਕੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈ ਤਨ ਮੈ ॥
man sok sabhai har kai sab hee at kai fun aanand pai tan mai |
Abandoning all his griefs from his mind, he was in his happy mood
ਫੁਨਿ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਉਪਜੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਇਉ ਮਨ ਮੈ ॥
fun taa chhab kee at hee upamaa upajee kab sayaam ke iau man mai |
ਜਿਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਡੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਜਾਨਿ ਬਧਿਓ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਮਨੋ ਗਨ ਮੈ ॥੭੮੨॥
jim singh baddo mrig jaan badhio chhal so mrigavaa ke mano gan mai |782|
According to the poet that spectacle seemed like this that a big deer had been killed by the lion out of the herd.782.
