Gauree Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

ਮੇਰਾ ਬਿਰਹੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਜੀਵਾ ਜੀਉ ॥

meraa birahee naam milai taa jeevaa jeeo |

If I receive my Love, the Naam, then I live.

ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਵਾ ਜੀਉ ॥

man andar amrit guramat har leevaa jeeo |

In the temple of the mind, is the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord; through the Guru's Teachings, we drink it in.

ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਪੀਵਾ ਜੀਉ ॥

man har rang ratarraa har ras sadaa peevaa jeeo |

My mind is drenched with the Love of the Lord. I continually drink in the sublime essence of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਅੜਾ ਮਨਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

har paaeiarraa man jeevaa jeeo |1|

I have found the Lord within my mind, and so I live. ||1||

ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

merai man tan prem lagaa har baan jeeo |

The arrow of the Lord's Love has pierced by mind and body.

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

meraa preetam mitru har purakh sujaan jeeo |

The Lord, the Primal Being, is All-knowing; He is my Beloved and my Best Friend.

ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

gur mele sant har sugharr sujaan jeeo |

The Saintly Guru has united me with the All-knowing and All-seeing Lord.

ਹਉ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

hau naam vittahu kurabaan jeeo |2|

I am a sacrifice to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||

ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਤੁ ਦਸਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

hau har har sajan har meet dasaaee jeeo |

I seek my Lord, Har, Har, my Intimate, my Best Friend.

ਹਰਿ ਦਸਹੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਜੀ ਹਰਿ ਖੋਜੁ ਪਵਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

har dasahu santahu jee har khoj pavaaee jeeo |

Show me the way to the Lord, Dear Saints; I am searching all over for Him.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠੜਾ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

satigur tuttharraa dase har paaee jeeo |

The Kind and Compassionate True Guru has shown me the Way, and I have found the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

har naame naam samaaee jeeo |3|

Through the Name of the Lord, I am absorbed in the Naam. ||3||

ਮੈ ਵੇਦਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਲਗਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

mai vedan prem har birahu lagaaee jeeo |

I am consumed with the pain of separation from the Love of the Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

gur saradhaa poor amrit mukh paaee jeeo |

The Guru has fulfilled my desire, and I have received the Ambrosial Nectar in my mouth.

ਹਰਿ ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥

har hohu deaal har naam dhiaaee jeeo |

The Lord has become merciful, and now I meditate on the Name of the Lord.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੬॥੨੦॥੧੮॥੩੨॥੭੦॥

jan naanak har ras paaee jeeo |4|6|20|18|32|70|

Servant Nanak has obtained the sublime essence of the Lord. ||4||6||20||18||32||70||
