Malaar, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਾਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥

maaee mohi preetam dehu milaaee |

O mother, please lead me to union with my Beloved.

ਸਗਲ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਸੁਖ ਭਰਿ ਸੂਤੀ ਜਿਹ ਘਰਿ ਲਾਲੁ ਬਸਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sagal sahelee sukh bhar sootee jih ghar laal basaaee |1| rahaau |

All my friends and companions sleep totally in peace; their Beloved Lord has come into the homes of their hearts. ||1||Pause||

ਮੋਹਿ ਅਵਗਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨਿ ਕਿਆ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥

mohi avagan prabh sadaa deaalaa mohi niragun kiaa chaturaaee |

I am worthless; God is forever Merciful. I am unworthy; what clever tricks could I try?

ਕਰਉ ਬਰਾਬਰਿ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਂ‍ੀ ਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਕੀ ਢੀਠਾਈ ॥੧॥

krau baraabar jo pria sang raatanee ih haumai kee dteetthaaee |1|

I claim to be on a par with those who are imbued with the Love of their Beloved. This is my stubborn egotism. ||1||

ਭਈ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਇਕ ਤਾਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥

bhee nimaanee saran ik taakee gur satigur purakh sukhadaaee |

I am dishonored - I seek the Sanctuary of the One, the Guru, the True Guru, the Primal Being, the Giver of peace.

ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਹਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਹਾਈ ॥੨॥੨॥੬॥

ek nimakh meh meraa sabh dukh kaattiaa naanak sukh rain bihaaee |2|2|6|

In an instant, all my pains have been taken away; Nanak passes the night of his life in peace. ||2||2||6||
