ਸੋ ਕਿਮ ਮਾਨਸ ਰੂਪ ਕਹਾਏ ॥

so kim maanas roop kahaae |

How can He be said to come in human form?

ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧ ਸਾਧ ਕਰ ਹਾਰੇ ਕ︀ਯੋਹੂੰ ਨ ਦੇਖਨ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sidh samaadh saadh kar haare kayohoon na dekhan paae |1| rahaau |

The Siddha (adept) in deep meditation became tired of the discipline on not seeing Him in any way…..Pause.

ਨਾਰਦ ਬਿਆਸ ਪਰਾਸਰ ਧ੍ਰੂਅ ਸੇ ਧਿਆਵਤ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਏ ॥

naarad biaas paraasar dhraooa se dhiaavat dhiaan lagaae |

Narad, Vyas, Prashar, Dhru, all meditated on Him,

ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਹਾਰ ਹਠ ਛਾਡਿਓ ਤਦਪਿ ਧਿਆਨ ਨ ਆਏ ॥੧॥

bed puraan haar hatth chhaaddio tadap dhiaan na aae |1|

The Vedas and Puranas, became tired and forsook insistence, since He could not be visualized.1.

ਦਾਨਵ ਦੇਵ ਪਿਸਾਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਤੇ ਨੇਤਹ ਨੇਤ ਕਹਾਏ ॥

daanav dev pisaach pret te netah net kahaae |

By demons, gods, ghosts, spirits, He was called indescribable,

ਸੂਛਮ ਤੇ ਸੂਛਮ ਕਰ ਚੀਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਧਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਬਤਾਏ ॥੨॥

soochham te soochham kar cheene bridhan bridh bataae |2|

He was considered the finest of the fine and the biggest of the big.2.

ਭੂਮ ਅਕਾਸ ਪਤਾਲ ਸਭੈ ਸਜਿ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਸਦਾਏ ॥

bhoom akaas pataal sabhai saj ek anek sadaae |

He, the One, Created the earth, heaven and the nether-world and was called “Many”

ਸੋ ਨਰ ਕਾਲ ਫਾਸ ਤੇ ਬਾਚੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥੩॥੧॥੮॥

so nar kaal faas te baache jo har saran sidhaae |3|1|8|

That man is saved from the noose of death, who takes refuge in the Lord.3.
