ਓਰੜ ਫਉਜਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਬੀਰ ਚੜੇ ਕੰਧਾਰੀ ॥

orarr faujaan aaeean beer charre kandhaaree |

The forces came in great numbers and the ranks of warriors marched forward

ਸੜਕ ਮਿਆਨੋ ਕਢੀਆਂ ਤਿਖੀਆਂ ਤਰਵਾਰੀ ॥

sarrak miaano kadteean tikheean taravaaree |

They pulled their sharp swords from their scabbards.

ਕੜਕ ਉਠੇ ਰਣ ਮਚਿਆ ਵਡੇ ਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥

karrak utthe ran machiaa vadde hankaaree |

With the blazing of the war, the great egoist warriors shouted loudly.

ਸਿਰ ਧੜ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਗਨ ਲੇ ਫੁਲ ਜੇਹੈ ਬਾੜੀ ॥

sir dharr baahaan gan le ful jehai baarree |

The pieces of head, trunk and arms look like garden-flowers.

ਜਾਪੇ ਕਟੇ ਬਾਢੀਆਂ ਰੁਖ ਚੰਦਨ ਆਰੀ ॥੪੮॥

jaape katte baadteean rukh chandan aaree |48|

And (the bodies) appear like the trees of sandalwood cut and sawed by the carpenters.48.
