Fifth Mehl:

ਦਾਮਨੀ ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਤਿਉ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਜਗ ਖੇ ॥

daamanee chamatakaar tiau varataaraa jag khe |

Like the flash of lightning, worldly affairs last only for a moment.

ਵਥੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸਾਇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਉ ਜਪੰਦੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੨॥

vath suhaavee saae naanak naau japando tis dhanee |2|

The only thing which is pleasing, O Nanak, is that which inspires one to meditate on the Name of the Master. ||2||
