ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਤਾਜਾ ।

guroo naanak sabh ke sirataajaa |

Above us all, Guru Nanak is the paramount,

ਜਿਹ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਾਜਾ ।

jih kau simar sare sabh kaajaa |

Meditating on whom, all the missions are accomplished.

ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗ ਰਚਾਯੰ ।

guroo teg bahaadar svaang rachaayan |

Then Guru Tegh Bahadur performed the wonderment;

ਜਿਹ ਅਪਨ ਸੀਸ ਦੇ ਜਗ ਠਹਰਾਯੰ ।

jih apan sees de jag tthaharaayan |

Liberated the world by sacrificing his head.

ਇਸ ਬਿਧਿ ਮੁਗਲਨ ਕੋ ਭਰਮਾਇਓ ।

eis bidh mugalan ko bharamaaeo |

This way, left the Mughals in bewilderment,

ਤਬ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਲ ਨ ਜਨਾਇਓ ।

tab satigur apanaa bal na janaaeo |

As he did not demonstrate the power of his manifestation,

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੁਕਮ ਬੂਝਿ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ।

prabh hukam boojh pahunche darabaaraa |

And acquiescing to the God's Will he realised the Heavenly Court.

ਤਬ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਅਪਾਰਾ ।

tab satigur keenee mihar apaaraa |

The True Guru, thus revealed his kind indulgence.

ਇਉਂ ਮੁਗਲਨ ਕੋ ਦੋਖ ਲਗਾਨਾ ।

eiaun mugalan ko dokh lagaanaa |

The Mughals were declared as guilty,

ਹੋਇ ਖਰਾਬ ਖਪਿ ਗਏ ਨਿਦਾਨਾ ।

hoe kharaab khap ge nidaanaa |

And with admonishment they were invalidated.

ਇਉਂ ਨਉਂ ਮਹਿਲੋਂ ਕੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸੁਨਾਈ ।

eiaun naun mahilon kee jugat sunaaee |

With this I have related the contrivance of the Great Masters,

ਜਿਹ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਚਾਈ ।

jih kar simaran har bhagat rachaaee |

Who, with the remembrance of God, salvaged their devotees.

ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਚਾਇ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ।

har bhagat rachaae naam nisataare |

Then the whole universe offered ovation.

ਤਬ ਸਭ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਜੈਕਾਰੇ ।

tab sabh jag mai pragattio jaikaare |

ਇਉਂ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ।

eiaun kar hai guradaas pukaaraa |

And thus exclaimed Gurdas;

ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੁਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰਾ ।੨੩।

he satigur muhi lehu ubaaraa |23|

O my True Guru, You grant me redemption.
