ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਹੀ ਕਾਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਧਰੀ ॥

taa kee kahee kaan triy dharee |

ਤਾਕੀ ਛੋਰਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਜਬ ਕਰੀ ॥

taakee chhor drisatt jab karee |

She attentively listened to her and looked out ofthe window.

ਯਹ ਕੌਤਕ ਸਭ ਸਾਹੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

yeh kauatak sabh saahu nihaariyo |

ਦੁਰਾਚਾਰ ਇਹ ਨਾਰਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੪॥

duraachaar ih naar bichaariyo |14|

The Shah watched all the happening and thought his wife was of bad character.(14)

ਮੋ ਸੋ ਸਤਿ ਤਵਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕਹਿਯੋ ॥

mo so sat tavan triy kahiyo |

ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਸਾਹੁ ਮੋਨਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹਿਯੋ ॥

yau keh saahu mon hvai rahiyo |

‘I considered my woman as trustworthy, but this woman enlightened me.’

ਨਿਜ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਭਏ ਨੇਹ ਤਜਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥

nij triy bhe neh taj deeno |

ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਸਾਥ ਯਰਾਨੋ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੧੫॥

tih tria saath yaraano keeno |15|

He abandoned loving his wife and created friendship with the other woman.(15)
