Wadahans, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੇਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਹਮ ਭਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

har satigur har satigur mel har satigur charan ham bhaaeaa raam |

The Lord, the True Guru, the Lord, the True Guru - if only I could meet the Lord, the True Guru; His Lotus Feet are so pleasing to me.

ਤਿਮਰ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

timar agiaan gavaaeaa gur giaan anjan gur paaeaa raam |

The darkness of my ignorance was dispelled, when the Guru applied the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom to my eyes.

ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ॥

gur giaan anjan satiguroo paaeaa agiaan andher binaase |

The True Guru has applied the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom to my eyes, and the darkness of ignorance has been dispelled.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸੇ ॥

satigur sev param pad paaeaa har japiaa saas giraase |

Serving the Guru, I have obtained the supreme status; I meditate on the Lord with every breath, and every morsel of food.

ਜਿਨ ਕੰਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥

jin knau har prabh kirapaa dhaaree te satigur sevaa laaeaa |

Those, upon whom the Lord God has bestowed His Grace, are committed to the service of the True Guru.

ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੇਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਹਮ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

har satigur har satigur mel har satigur charan ham bhaaeaa |1|

The Lord, the True Guru, the Lord, the True Guru - if only I could meet the Lord, the True Guru; His Lotus Feet are so pleasing to me. ||1||

ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

meraa satigur meraa satigur piaaraa mai gur bin rehan na jaaee raam |

My True Guru, my True Guru is my Beloved; without the Guru, I cannot live.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

har naamo har naam devai meraa ant sakhaaee raam |

He gives me the Name of the Lord, the Name of the Lord, my only companion in the end.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥

har har naam meraa ant sakhaaee gur satigur naam drirraaeaa |

The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is my only companion in the end; the Guru, the True Guru, has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me.

ਜਿਥੈ ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਲੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥

jithai put kalatru koee belee naahee tithai har har naam chhaddaaeaa |

There, where neither child nor spouse shall accompany you, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har shall emancipate you.

ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥

dhan dhan satigur purakh niranjan jit mil har naam dhiaaee |

Blessed, blessed is the True Guru, the Immaculate, Almighty Lord God; meeting Him, I meditate on the Name of the Lord.

ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥

meraa satigur meraa satigur piaaraa mai gur bin rehan na jaaee |2|

My True Guru, my True Guru is my Beloved; without the Guru, I cannot live. ||2||

ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

jinee darasan jinee darasan satigur purakh na paaeaa raam |

Those who have not obtained the Blessed Vision, the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the True Guru, the Almighty Lord God,

ਤਿਨ ਨਿਹਫਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਹਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

tin nihafal tin nihafal janam sabh brithaa gavaaeaa raam |

they have fruitlessly, fruitlessly wasted their whole lives in vain.

ਨਿਹਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੁਏ ਮਰਿ ਝੂਰੇ ॥

nihafal janam tin brithaa gavaaeaa te saakat mue mar jhoore |

They have wasted away their whole lives in vain; those faithless cynics die a regretful death.

ਘਰਿ ਹੋਦੈ ਰਤਨਿ ਪਦਾਰਥਿ ਭੂਖੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰੇ ॥

ghar hodai ratan padaarath bhookhe bhaagaheen har doore |

They have the jewel-treasure in their own homes, but still, they are hungry; those unlucky wretches are far away from the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਨ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥

har har tin kaa daras na kareeahu jinee har har naam na dhiaaeaa |

O Lord, please, let me not see those who do not meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har,

ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

jinee darasan jinee darasan satigur purakh na paaeaa |3|

and who have not obtained the Blessed Vision, the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the True Guru, the Almighty Lord God. ||3||

ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

ham chaatrik ham chaatrik deen har paas benantee raam |

I am a song-bird, I am a meek song-bird; I offer my prayer to the Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਲਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਰਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

gur mil gur mel meraa piaaraa ham satigur karah bhagatee raam |

If only I could meet the Guru, meet the Guru, O my Beloved; I dedicate myself to the devotional worship of the True Guru.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਰਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥

har har satigur karah bhagatee jaan har prabh kirapaa dhaare |

I worship the Lord, Har, Har, and the True Guru; the Lord God has granted His Grace.

ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਲੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹਮੑਾਰੇ ॥

mai gur bin avar na koee belee gur satigur praan hamaare |

Without the Guru, I have no other friend. The Guru, the True Guru, is my very breath of life.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਤੀ ॥

kahu naanak gur naam drirrhaaeaa har har naam har satee |

Says Nanak, the Guru has implanted the Naam within me; the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the True Name.

ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ॥੪॥੩॥

I am a song-bird, I am a meek song-bird; I offer my prayer to the Lord. ||4||3||
