ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਹੈ ਧਿਆਨ ਮੂਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਜਾਣੈ ।

sat naam karataa purakh mool mantr simaran paravaanai |

Satnam, Karta Purakh is accepted as the basic formula, the muli mantr, by gurmukh.

ਚਰਣ ਕਵਲ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਰਸੁ ਪੂਜਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਪਿਰਮ ਰਸੁ ਮਾਣੈ ।

charan kaval makarand ras poojaa mool piram ras maanai |

ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਆਣੈ ।

sabad surat liv saadhasang gur kirapaa te andar aanai |

He enters into the immersion of word-consciousness through the Guru and the holy congregation.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੰਥੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਚਲਣੁ ਭਾਣੈ ।

guramukh panth agam hai guramat nihachal chalan bhaanai |

The way of the gurmukh is beyond the ken of mind and speech and he in accordance with the wisdom of the Guru and his own steadfast will, treads on it.

ਵੇਦ ਕਤੇਬਹੁਂ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਕਉਣੁ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ।

ved katebahun baaharee akath kathaa kaun aakh vakhaanai |

Who can describe the importance of the parable (of gurmukh) because it is beyond the Vedas and the Katebas, (the four holy books of semitic religion).
