ਜੈਸੇ ਬਾਰ ਖੇਤ ਕਉ ਜੁ ਕਾਲ ਫਾਸ ਚੇਤ ਕਉ ਸੁ ਭਿਛ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਤ ਕਉ ਸੁ ਕੰਕਨ ਜਿਉ ਕਰ ਕੋ ॥

jaise baar khet kau ju kaal faas chet kau su bhichh daan det kau su kankan jiau kar ko |

Just as the fence surrounds the field, death surrounds the donor and the bangle surrounds the hand

ਜੈਸੇ ਦੇਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਖ ਸਸਿ ਭਾਨੁ ਕਉ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਜੈਸੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਕਉ ਸੁ ਗੋਪੀ ਜੈਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ॥

jaise deh praan kau pravekh sas bhaan kau agiaan jaise giaan kau su gopee jaise har ko |

Just as the body surrounds the vital force Prana, the light surrounds the spheres of sun and moon, nescience surrounds knowledge and gopis surround Krishna.

ਜਿਉ ਤੜਾਗ ਆਪ ਕਉ ਸੁ ਮਾਲਾ ਜੈਸੇ ਜਾਪੁ ਕਉ ਸੋ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਉ ਜਿਉ ਆਲ ਬਾਲ ਤਰੁ ਕੋ ॥

jiau tarraag aap kau su maalaa jaise jaap kau so pun jaise paap kau jiau aal baal tar ko |

Just as the tank surrounds the water, the rosary surrounds the repetition of the name, the virtues surround the vices and the creeper surrounds the cucumber
