CHAUPAI
ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਕਰਮ ਬਧ ਨੈਨ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
kraoor karam badh nain nihaario |
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਅਪਨੋ ਖੜਗ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ ॥
tab hee apano kharrag sanbhaario |
When he saw the killing of Karurkaram with his own eyes, he held up his sword
ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਦੈਤ ਰਿਸਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਪਰ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
kraoor dait ris nrip par dhaayo |
ਮਾਨੋ ਕਾਲ ਮੇਘ ਉਮਡਾਯੋ ॥੧੪੭੫॥
maano kaal megh umaddaayo |1475|
Now Karurdaitya fell upon the king, getting enraged, and it seemed that the death-like cloud had gushed out.1475.
ਆਵਤ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਭੂਪ ਪਚਾਰਿਓ ॥
aavat hee tih bhoop pachaario |
ਜਾਹੁ ਕਹਾ ਮੁਝ ਬੰਧੁ ਪਛਾਰਿਓ ॥
jaahu kahaa mujh bandh pachhaario |
On coming, he challenged the king, “Where are you going after killing my brother?
ਹਉ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਅਬ ਜੁਧ ਮਚੈ ਹੋ ॥
hau tum so ab judh machai ho |
ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਗਯੋ ਜਹਿ ਤੋਹਿ ਪਠੈ ਹੋ ॥੧੪੭੬॥
bhraat gayo jeh tohi patthai ho |1476|
Now I shall fight with you and shall dispatch you there where my brother has gone.”1476.
ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਤਬ ਖੜਗ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ ॥
yau keh kai tab kharrag sanbhaario |
ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਬਲ ਕੋਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
at prachandd bal kop prahaario |
Saying this, he held up his sword and getting enraged, he struck a terrible blow
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਲਖਿਓ ਕਾਟਿ ਅਸਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
bhoopat lakhio kaatt as deeno |
ਸੋਊ ਮਾਰਿ ਰਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੧੪੭੭॥
soaoo maar ran bheetar leeno |1477|
The king saw this and cutting his sword, he knocked him also in the field.1477.
