Malaar, Fifth Mehl:

ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਕਿਉ ਜੀਵੇ ਓਇ ਜੀਵਨ ॥

bichhurat kiau jeeve oe jeevan |

Separated from the Lord, how can any living being live?

ਚਿਤਹਿ ਉਲਾਸ ਆਸ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰਸ ਪੀਵਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

chiteh ulaas aas milabe kee charan kamal ras peevan |1| rahaau |

My consciousness is filled with yearning and hope to meet my Lord, and drink in the sublime essence of His Lotus Feet. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਿਆਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

jin kau piaas tumaaree preetam tin kau antar naahee |

Those who are thirsty for You, O my Beloved, are not separated from You.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਮੇਰੋ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇ ਮੂਏ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਂਹੀਂ ॥੧॥

jin kau bisarai mero raam piaaraa se mooe mar jaanheen |1|

Those who forget my Beloved Lord are dead and dying. ||1||

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ ॥

man tan rav rahiaa jagadeesur pekhat sadaa hajoore |

The Lord of the Universe is permeating and pervading my mind and body; I see Him Ever-present, here and now.

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥

naanak rav rahio sabh antar sarab rahiaa bharapoore |2|8|12|

O Nanak, He is permeating the inner being of all; He is all-pervading everywhere. ||2||8||12||
