ਭਏ ਪੂਜ ਤੋ ਕਹਾ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਨ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ॥

bhe pooj to kahaa gumaan na keejiyai |

The one, who is considered as worship-worthy, should not become egotistical.

ਧਨੀ ਭਏ ਤੋ ਦੁਖ︀ਯਨ ਨਿਧਨ ਨ ਦੀਜਿਯੈ ॥

dhanee bhe to dukhayan nidhan na deejiyai |

If one becomes a rich man he should not beset the poor.

ਰੂਪ ਭਯੋ ਤੋ ਕਹਾ ਐਂਠ ਨਹਿ ਠਾਨਿਯੈ ॥

roop bhayo to kahaa aintth neh tthaaniyai |

‘With prettiness one should not display arrogance,

ਹੋ ਧਨ ਜੋਬਨ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਪਾਹੁਨੋ ਜਾਨਿਯੈ ॥੧੫॥

ho dhan joban din chaar paahuno jaaniyai |15|

‘Because the youth and beauty are sustainable for four (a few) days only.(15)
