ਦਾਣਾ ਹੋਇ ਅਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਇ ਧੂੜਿ ਧੂੜੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਧੱਸੈ ।

The seed of promegranate merges into dust by becoming dust.

ਹੋਇ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਹਰੀਆਵਲਾ ਲਾਲ ਗੁਲਾਲਾ ਫਲ ਵਿਗੱਸੈ ।

hoe birakh hareeaavalaa laal gulaalaa fal vigasai |

The same becoming green is adorned by flowers of deep red colour.

ਇਕਤੁ ਬਿਰਖ ਸਹਸ ਫੁਲ ਫੁਲ ਫਲ ਇਕ ਦੂ ਇਕ ਸਰੱਸੈ ।

eikat birakh sehas ful ful fal ik doo ik sarasai |

On tree, thousands of fruits grow, each fruit being more delicious than another.

ਇਕ ਦੂ ਦਾਣੇ ਲਖ ਹੋਇ ਫਲ ਫਲ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵੱਸੈ ।

eik doo daane lakh hoe fal fal de man andar vasai |

In each fruit reside thousands of seeds produced by one seed.

ਤਿਸੁ ਫਲ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਫਲੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰੱਸੈ ।

tis fal tott na aavee guramukh sukh fal amrit rasai |

As there is no dearth of fruit on that tree so the gurmukh is never at loss to realize the delights of the fruits of nectar.

ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਲੱਯਨਿ ਤੋੜਿ ਫਲਿ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰ ਫਲੀਐ ਹੱਸੈ ।

jiau jiau layan torr fal tiau tiau fir fir faleeai hasai |

With the plucking of the fruit the tree again and again, bursting into laughter bears more fruits.

ਨਿਵ ਚਲਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦੱਸੈ ।੧੧।

Thus the great Guru teaches the way of humility.
