ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਦੁਪਦਾ ੧ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl, Du-Pada 1:

ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਿਖਾਇਓ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

saadhoo sang sikhaaeo naam |

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Naam is learned;

ਸਰਬ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥

sarab manorath pooran kaam |

all desires and tasks are fulfilled.

ਬੁਝਿ ਗਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸਹਿ ਅਘਾਨੇ ॥

bujh gee trisanaa har jaseh aghaane |

My thirst has been quenched, and I am satiated with the Lord's Praise.

ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੇ ॥੧॥

jap jap jeevaa saarigapaane |1|

I live by chanting and meditating upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth. ||1||

ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥

karan karaavan saran pariaa |

I have entered the Sanctuary of the Creator, the Cause of all causes.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਹਜ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚੰਦੁ ਚੜਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

gur parasaad sehaj ghar paaeaa mittiaa andheraa chand charriaa |1| rahaau |

By Guru's Grace, I have entered the home of celestial bliss. Darkness is dispelled, and the moon of wisdom has risen. ||1||Pause||

ਲਾਲ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥

laal javehar bhare bhanddaar |

My treasure-house is overflowing with rubies and jewels;

ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥

tott na aavai jap nirankaar |

I meditate on the Formless Lord, and so they never run short.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਬਦੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥

amrit sabad peevai jan koe |

How rare is that humble being, who drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Word of the Shabad.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥੪੧॥੯੨॥

naanak taa kee param gat hoe |2|41|92|

O Nanak, he attains the state of highest dignity. ||2||41||92||
