ਸਿੰਘਹਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਜੁਲਾਹੇ ਪਰੀ ॥

singheh drisatt julaahe paree |

ਬਰਛੀ ਕੰਪਤ ਹਾਥ ਤੇ ਝਰੀ ॥

barachhee kanpat haath te jharee |

When the lion looked up at the weaver, he trembled and the sword fell from his hands.

ਮੁਖ ਮੈ ਲਗੀ ਪਿਸਟਿ ਤਰ ਨਿਕਸੀ ॥

mukh mai lagee pisatt tar nikasee |

ਜਨ ਕਰਿ ਕੰਜਕਲੀ ਸੀ ਬਿਗਸੀ ॥੧੮॥

jan kar kanjakalee see bigasee |18|

It went right into the mOUth of the lion and came out ofthe stomach.(18)

ਜਾਨ︀ਯੋ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਰਿ ਗਯੋ ॥

jaanayo saach singh mar gayo |

ਉਤਰਿਯੋ ਪੂਛਿ ਕਾਨ ਕਟਿ ਲਯੋ ॥

autariyo poochh kaan katt layo |

When he observed that the lion was dead,

ਜਾਇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਕੌ ਤਾਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਯੋ ॥

jaae nripat kau taeh dikhaayo |

ਅਧਿਕ ਮਹੀਨੋ ਅਪਨ ਕਰਾਯੋ ॥੧੯॥

adhik maheeno apan karaayo |19|

He came down, cut the ear and the tail and showed to the Raja to claim more wages.(l9)
