Swaiyas In Praise Of The Fifth Mehl:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik oankaar satigur prasaad |

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸਿਮਰੰ ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਚਲੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥

simaran soee purakh achal abinaasee |

Meditate in remembrance on the Primal Lord God, Eternal and Imperishable.

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਲੁ ਨਾਸੀ ॥

jis simarat duramat mal naasee |

Remembering Him in meditation, the filth of evil-mindedness is eradicated.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਕਵਲ ਰਿਦਿ ਧਾਰੰ ॥

satigur charan kaval rid dhaaran |

I enshrine the Lotus Feet of the True Guru within my heart.

ਗੁਰ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਗੁਣ ਸਹਜਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੰ ॥

gur arajun gun sehaj bichaaran |

With intuitive peace and poise, I contemplate the Glorious Virtues of Guru Arjun.

ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਘਰਿ ਕੀਅਉ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ॥

gur raamadaas ghar keeo pragaasaa |

He was revealed in the House of Guru Raam Daas,

ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਸਾ ॥

sagal manorath pooree aasaa |

and all hopes and desires were fulfilled.

ਤੈ ਜਨਮਤ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਓ ॥

tai janamat guramat braham pachhaanio |

From birth, He realized God through the Guru's Teachings.

ਕਲੵ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰ ਸੁਜਸੁ ਵਖਾਣਿਓ ॥

kalay jorr kar sujas vakhaanio |

With palms pressed together, KALL the poet speaks His praises.

ਭਗਤਿ ਜੋਗ ਕੌ ਜੈਤਵਾਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨਕੁ ਉਪਾਯਉ ॥

bhagat jog kau jaitavaar har janak upaayau |

The Lord brought Him into the world, to practice the Yoga of devotional worship.

ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਕਾਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨ ਬਸਾਯਉ ॥

sabad guroo parakaasio har rasan basaayau |

The Word of the Guru's Shabad has been revealed, and the Lord dwells on His tongue.

ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਗਦ ਅਮਰ ਲਾਗਿ ਉਤਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਯਉ ॥

gur naanak angad amar laag utam pad paayau |

Attached to Guru Nanak, Guru Angad and Guru Amar Daas, He attained the supreme status.

ਗੁਰੁ ਅਰਜੁਨੁ ਘਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਭਗਤ ਉਤਰਿ ਆਯਉ ॥੧॥

gur arajun ghar gur raamadaas bhagat utar aayau |1|

In the House of Guru Raam Daas, the devotee of the Lord, Guru Arjun was born. ||1||
