ਛੈਲ ਛਬੀਲੀ ਖੇਲ ਹੀ ਨਰ ਨਾਰਿਨ ਕੀ ਭੀਰ ॥

chhail chhabeelee khel hee nar naarin kee bheer |

In the multitude of males, females and the damsels,

ਜਿਤ ਜਿਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟ ਪਸਾਰਿਯੈ ਤਿਤਹਿ ਕਿਸਰਿਯਾ ਚੀਰ ॥੧੩॥

jit jit drisatt pasaariyai titeh kisariyaa cheer |13|

The saffron colour apparels were predominant.(13)

ਘਰ ਘਰ ਚਾਚਰ ਖੇਲੀਯਹਿ ਹਸਿ ਹਸਿ ਗੈਯਹਿ ਗੀਤ ॥

ghar ghar chaachar kheleeyeh has has gaiyeh geet |

Every household was busy in playing Holy and singing jovially,

ਘਰ ਘਰ ਹੋਤ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਧੁਨਿ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਨਚਤ ਸੰਗੀਤ ॥੧੪॥

ghar ghar hot mridang dhun ghar ghar nachat sangeet |14|

The voices of bongos accompanied by the dances were emanating from eachhouse.(l4 )

ਨਿਰਖਿ ਰੂਪ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਸਕਲ ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥

nirakh roop taa ko sakal urajh rahiyo su kumaar |

That young man was entrapped by her looks,

ਰਾਨੀ ਹੂੰ ਚਟਪਟ ਅਟਕ ਨਟ ਸੋ ਕਿਯੋ ਪ︀ਯਾਰ ॥੧੫॥

raanee hoon chattapatt attak natt so kiyo payaar |15|

ਖੇਲਤ ਫਾਗੁ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗਤਿ ਨਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ॥

khelat faag bachitr gat nar naaree sukh paae |

Every man and woman was savouring the songs of spring,

ਅਲਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਂਧੀ ਚਲੀ ਮਨੁਖ ਨ ਨਿਰਖ੍ਰਯੋ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੬॥

alataa kee aandhee chalee manukh na nirakhrayo jaae |16|

When, suddenly, the dust-storm subdued the vision.(l6)

ਕ੍ਰਮ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਬਜੈ ਬਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਬਹੁ ਰੁਨ ਝੁਨ ਮੁਰਲਿ ਮੁਚੰਗ ॥

kram kram bajai bajantr bahu run jhun mural muchang |

Soon after the music was ensued the voices of the flutes started to emanate

ਝਿਮਿ ਝਿਮਿ ਬਰਸਿਯੋ ਨੇਹ ਰਸ ਦ੍ਰਿਮ ਦ੍ਰਿਮ ਦਯਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ॥੧੭॥

jhim jhim barasiyo neh ras drim drim dayaa mridang |17|

The melodies, accompanied with the drums, commenced to flow again.(17)
