oeh gur gobind singh dasavaan avataaraa |

Guru Gobind Singh, the Tenth incarnation,

ਜਿਨ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਅਜੀਤ ਸੁਧਾਰਾ ।

jin khaalasaa panth ajeet sudhaaraa |

Who regenerated the triumphant Khalsa Panth, the righteous denomination,

ਤੁਰਕ ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ।

turak dusatt sabh maar bidaare |

Decimated all the Turk enemies,

ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਗੁਲਜਾਰੇ ।

sabh prithavee keenee gulajaare |

Thus turned the whole earth into a subsisting garden.

ਇਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਹਾਂ ਬਲ ਬੀਰਾ ।

eiaun pragatte singh mahaan bal beeraa |

Great warriors were embodied,

ਤਿਨ ਆਗੇ ਕੋ ਧਰੈ ਨ ਧੀਰਾ ।

tin aage ko dharai na dheeraa |

Whom no one could dare to confront.

ਫਤੇ ਭਈ ਦੁਖ ਦੁੰਦ ਮਿਟਾਏ ।

fate bhee dukh dund mittaae |

Victory predominated and all the tribulations and conflicts were erased,

ਤਹ ਹਰਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਕਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਾਏ ।

teh har akaal kaa jaap japaae |

And the meditation upon the God, the Timeless, was inducted.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਮਹਲ ਜਪਿਓ ਕਰਤਾਰਾ ।

pritham mehal japio karataaraa |

In the first instance, the Master resolved to ruminate over the Creator,

ਤਿਨ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਕੋ ਲੀਓ ਉਬਾਰਾ ।

tin sabh prithavee ko leeo ubaaraa |

And then he kindled the whole universe.

ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇ ਨਰੂ ਸਭ ਤਾਰੇ ।

har bhagat drirraae naroo sabh taare |

The devotees became resolute, and the divine light released all.

ਜਬ ਆਗਿਆ ਕੀਨੀ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੇ ।

jab aagiaa keenee alakh apaare |

When God invoked his command,

ਇਉਂ ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਾ ਮੇਲ ਮਿਲਾਯੰ ।

eiaun sat sangat kaa mel milaayan |

Then, they encountered the holy congregation,

ਜਹ ਨਿਸ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਯੰ ।

jeh nis baasur har har gun gaayan |

To enunciate the admiration of the Lord God, day and night,

ਇਉਂ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ।

eiaun kar hai guradaas pukaaraa |

And thus exclaimed Gurdas;

ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੁਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰਾ ।੨੪।

he satigur muhi lehu ubaaraa |24|

O my True Guru, You grant me redemption.
