ਤ੍ਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਤੋਮਰ ਛੰਦ ॥

BY THY GRACE. TOMAR STANZA

ਹਰਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਬਿਹੀਨ ॥

har janam maran biheen |

The Lord is sans birth and death,

ਦਸ ਚਾਰ ਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ॥

das chaar chaar prabeen |

He is skiful in all eighteen sciences.

ਅਕਲੰਕ ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

akalank roop apaar |

That unblemished Entity is Infinite,

ਅਨਛਿਜ ਤੇਜ ਉਦਾਰ ॥੧॥੩੧॥

anachhij tej udaar |1|31|

His Benevolent Glory is Everlasting. 1.31.

ਅਨਭਿਜ ਰੂਪ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥

anabhij roop durant |

His Unaffected Entity is All-Pervasive,

ਸਭ ਜਗਤ ਭਗਤ ਮਹੰਤ ॥

sabh jagat bhagat mahant |

He is the Supreme Lord of the saints of all the world.

ਜਸ ਤਿਲਕ ਭੂਭ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਾਨ ॥

jas tilak bhoobhrit bhaan |

He is the frontal mark of Glory and life-giver sun of the earth,

ਦਸ ਚਾਰ ਚਾਰ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੨॥੩੨॥

das chaar chaar nidhaan |2|32|

He is the Treasure of eighteen sciences. 2.32.

ਅਕਲੰਕ ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

akalank roop apaar |

He the Unblemished Entity is Infinite,

ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਸੋਕ ਬਿਦਾਰ ॥

sabh lok sok bidaar |

He is the destroyer of sufferings of all the worlds.

ਕਲ ਕਾਲ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਹੀਨ ॥

kal kaal karam biheen |

He is without the rituals of Iron age,

ਸਭ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ॥੩॥੩੩॥

sabh karam dharam prabeen |3|33|

He is an adept in all religious works. 3.33.

ਅਨਖੰਡ ਅਤੁਲ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ॥

anakhandd atul prataap |

His Glory is Indivisible and Inestimable,

ਸਭ ਥਾਪਿਓ ਜਿਹ ਥਾਪ ॥

sabh thaapio jih thaap |

He is the Establisher of all the institutions.

ਅਨਖੇਦ ਭੇਦ ਅਛੇਦ ॥

anakhed bhed achhed |

He is Indestructible with Imperishable mysteries,

ਮੁਖਚਾਰ ਗਾਵਤ ਬੇਦ ॥੪॥੩੪॥

mukhachaar gaavat bed |4|34|

And the four-handed Brahma sings the Vedas. 4.34.

ਜਿਹ ਨੇਤ ਨਿਗਮ ਕਹੰਤ ॥

jih net nigam kahant |

To Him the Nigam (Vedas) call “Neti” (Not this),

ਮੁਖਚਾਰ ਬਕਤ ਬਿਅੰਤ ॥

mukhachaar bakat biant |

The four-handed Brahma Speak of Him as Unlimited.

ਅਨਭਿਜ ਅਤੁਲ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ॥

anabhij atul prataap |

His Glory is Unaffected and Inestimable,

ਅਨਖੰਡ ਅਮਿਤ ਅਥਾਪ ॥੫॥੩੫॥

anakhandd amit athaap |5|35|

He is Undivided Unlimited and Un-established. 5.35.

ਜਿਹ ਕੀਨ ਜਗਤ ਪਸਾਰ ॥

jih keen jagat pasaar |

He who hath created the expanse of the world,

ਰਚਿਓ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

rachio bichaar bichaar |

He hath Created it in full Consciousness.

ਅਨੰਤ ਰੂਪ ਅਖੰਡ ॥

anant roop akhandd |

His Infinite Form is Indivisible,

ਅਤੁਲ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ॥੬॥੩੬॥

atul prataap prachandd |6|36|

His Immeasurable Glory is Powerful 6.36.

ਜਿਹ ਅੰਡ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ॥

jih andd te brahamandd |

He who hath Created the universe from the Cosmic egg,

ਕੀਨੇ ਸੁ ਚੌਦਹ ਖੰਡ ॥

keene su chauadah khandd |

He hath Created the fourteen regions.

ਸਭ ਕੀਨ ਜਗਤ ਪਸਾਰ ॥

sabh keen jagat pasaar |

He hath Created all the expanse of the world,

ਅਬਿਯਕਤ ਰੂਪ ਉਦਾਰ ॥੭॥੩੭॥

abiyakat roop udaar |7|37|

That Benevolent Lord is Unmanifested. 7.37.

ਜਿਹ ਕੋਟਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਰ ॥

jih kott indr nripaar |

He who hath Created millions of king Indras,

ਕਈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿਸਨ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

kee braham bisan bichaar |

He hath Created many Brahmas and Vishnus after consideration.

ਕਈ ਰਾਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਰਸੂਲ ॥

kee raam krisan rasool |

He hath Created many Ramas , Krishnas and Rasuls (Prophets),

ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਬੂਲ ॥੮॥੩੮॥

bin bhagat ko na kabool |8|38|

None of them is approved by the Lord without devotion. 8.38.

ਕਈ ਸਿੰਧ ਬਿੰਧ ਨਗਿੰਦ੍ਰ ॥

kee sindh bindh nagindr |

Created many oceans and mountains like Vindhyachal,

ਕਈ ਮਛ ਕਛ ਫਨਿੰਦ੍ਰ ॥

kee machh kachh fanindr |

Tortoise incarnations and Sheshanagas.

ਕਈ ਦੇਵ ਆਦਿ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥

kee dev aad kumaar |

Created many gods , many fish incarnations and Adi Kumars.,

ਕਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬਿਸਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥੯॥੩੯॥

kee krisan bisan avataar |9|39|

Sons of Brahma (Sanak Sanandan , Sanatan and Sant Kumar) , many Krishnas and incarnations of Vishnu.9.39.

ਕਈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਬਾਰ ਬੁਹਾਰ ॥

kee indr baar buhaar |

Many Indras sweep at His door,

ਕਈ ਬੇਦ ਅਉ ਮੁਖਚਾਰ ॥

kee bed aau mukhachaar |

Many Vedas and four-headed Brahmas are there.

ਕਈ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਛੁਦ੍ਰ ਸਰੂਪ ॥

kee rudr chhudr saroop |

Many Rudras (Shivas) of ghastly appearance are there,

ਕਈ ਰਾਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਅਨੂਪ ॥੧੦॥੪੦॥

kee raam krisan anoop |10|40|

Many unique Ramas and Krishnas are there. 10.40.

ਕਈ ਕੋਕ ਕਾਬ ਭਣੰਤ ॥

kee kok kaab bhanant |

Many poets compose poetry there,

ਕਈ ਬੇਦ ਭੇਦ ਕਹੰਤ ॥

kee bed bhed kahant |

Many speak of the distinction of the knowledge of Vedas.

ਕਈ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

kee saasatr sinmrit bakhaan |

Many elucideate Shastras and Smritis,

ਕਹੂੰ ਕਥਤ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥੧੧॥੪੧॥

kahoon kathat hee su puraan |11|41|

Many hold discourses of Puranas. 11.41.

ਕਈ ਅਗਨ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੰਤ ॥

kee agan hotr karant |

Many perform Agnihotras (fire-worship),

ਕਈ ਉਰਧ ਤਾਪ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥

kee uradh taap durant |

Many perform arduous austerities while standing.

ਕਈ ਉਰਧ ਬਾਹੁ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ॥

kee uradh baahu saniaas |

Many are ascetics with raised arms and many are anchorities,

ਕਹੂੰ ਜੋਗ ਭੇਸ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੧੨॥੪੨॥

kahoon jog bhes udaas |12|42|

Many are in the garbs of Yogis and Udasis (stoics). 12.42.

ਕਹੂੰ ਨਿਵਲੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੰਤ ॥

kahoon nivalee karam karant |

Many perform Neoli rituals of Yogis of purging intestines,

ਕਹੂੰ ਪਉਨ ਅਹਾਰ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥

kahoon paun ahaar durant |

There are innumerable who subsist on air.

ਕਹੂੰ ਤੀਰਥ ਦਾਨ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

kahoon teerath daan apaar |

Many offer great charities at pilgrim-stations. ,

ਕਹੂੰ ਜਗ ਕਰਮ ਉਦਾਰ ॥੧੩॥੪੩॥

kahoon jag karam udaar |13|43|

Benevolent sacrificial rituals are performed 13.43.

ਕਹੂੰ ਅਗਨ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਅਨੂਪ ॥

kahoon agan hotr anoop |

Somewhere exquisite fire-worship is arranged. ,

ਕਹੂੰ ਨਿਆਇ ਰਾਜ ਬਿਭੂਤ ॥

kahoon niaae raaj bibhoot |

Somewhere justice is done with emblem of royalty.

ਕਹੂੰ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਰੀਤ ॥

kahoon saasatr sinmrit reet |

Somewhere ceremonies are performed in accordance with Shastras and Smritis,

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਦ ਸਿਉ ਬਿਪ੍ਰੀਤ ॥੧੪॥੪੪॥

kahoon bed siau bipreet |14|44|

Somewhere the performance is antagonistic to Vedic injunctions. 14.44.

ਕਈ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਫਿਰੰਤ ॥

kee des des firant |

Many wander in various countries,

ਕਈ ਏਕ ਠੌਰ ਇਸਥੰਤ ॥

kee ek tthauar isathant |

Many stay only at one place.

ਕਹੂੰ ਕਰਤ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਪ ॥

kahoon karat jal meh jaap |

Somewhere the meditation is performed in water,

ਕਹੂੰ ਸਹਤ ਤਨ ਪਰ ਤਾਪ ॥੧੫॥੪੫॥

kahoon sehat tan par taap |15|45|

Somewhere heat is endured on the body.15.45.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਸ ਬਨਹਿ ਕਰੰਤ ॥

kahoon baas baneh karant |

Somewhere some reside in the forest,

ਕਹੂੰ ਤਾਪ ਤਨਹਿ ਸਹੰਤ ॥

kahoon taap taneh sahant |

Somewhere heat is endured on the body.

ਕਹੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਧਰਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

kahoon grihasat dharam apaar |

Somewhere many follow the householder’s path,

ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਰੀਤ ਉਦਾਰ ॥੧੬॥੪੬॥

kahoon raaj reet udaar |16|46|

Somewhere many followed.16.46.

ਕਹੂੰ ਰੋਗ ਰਹਤ ਅਭਰਮ ॥

kahoon rog rehat abharam |

Somewhere people are without ailment and illusion,

ਕਹੂੰ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਅਕਰਮ ॥

kahoon karam karat akaram |

Somewhere forbidden actions are being done.

ਕਹੂੰ ਸੇਖ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਰੂਪ ॥

kahoon sekh braham saroop |

Somewhere there are Sheikhs, somewhere there are Brahmins

ਕਹੂੰ ਨੀਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਨੂਪ ॥੧੭॥੪੭॥

kahoon neet raaj anoop |17|47|

Somewhere there is the prevalence of unique politics.17.47.

ਕਹੂੰ ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਹੀਨ ॥

kahoon rog sog biheen |

Somewhere someone is without suffering and ailment,

ਕਹੂੰ ਏਕ ਭਗਤ ਅਧੀਨ ॥

kahoon ek bhagat adheen |

Somewhere someone follows the path of devotion closely.

ਕਹੂੰ ਰੰਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥

kahoon rank raaj kumaar |

Somewhere someone is poor and someone a prince,

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਦ ਬਿਆਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥੧੮॥੪੮॥

kahoon bed biaas avataar |18|48|

Somewhere someone is incarnation of Ved Vyas. 18.48.

ਕਈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੇਦ ਰਟੰਤ ॥

kee braham bed rattant |

Some Brahmins recite Vedas,

ਕਈ ਸੇਖ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਰੰਤ ॥

kee sekh naam ucharant |

Some Sheikhs repeat the Name of the Lord.

ਬੈਰਾਗ ਕਹੂੰ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ॥

bairaag kahoon saniaas |

Somewhere there is a follower of the path of Bairag (detachment) ,

ਕਹੂੰ ਫਿਰਤ ਰੂਪ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੧੯॥੪੯॥

kahoon firat roop udaas |19|49|

And somewhere one follows the path of Sannyas (asceticism),somewhere someone wanders as an Udasi (stoic).19.49.

ਸਭ ਕਰਮ ਫੋਕਟ ਜਾਨ ॥

sabh karam fokatt jaan |

Know all the Karmas (actions) as useless,

ਸਭ ਧਰਮ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਮਾਨ ॥

sabh dharam nihafal maan |

Consider all the religious paths of no value.

ਬਿਨ ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰ ॥

bin ek naam adhaar |

Without the prop of the only Name of the Lord,

ਸਭ ਕਰਮ ਭਰਮ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੨੦॥੫੦॥

sabh karam bharam bichaar |20|50|

All the Karmas be considered as illusion.20.50.
