ਰਕਤਬੀਜ ਸੋ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਇਉ ਕੀਨੋ ਬਰ ਜੁਧੁ ॥

In this way, Chandika foutht with raktavija,
ਅਗਨਤ ਭਏ ਦਾਨਵ ਤਬੈ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬਸਾਇਓ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ॥੧੬੩॥
aganat bhe daanav tabai kachh na basaaeo krudh |163|
The demons became innumerable and the ire of the goddess was fruitless. 163.,

ਪੇਖਿ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਦਾਨਵ ਚੰਡਿ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਤਚੀ ਅਖੀਆ ॥
pekh daso dis te bahu daanav chandd prachandd tachee akheea |
The eyes of powerful Chandi became red with rage on seeing many demons on all the ten directions.,
ਤਬ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਜੁ ਕਾਟ ਦਏ ਅਰਿ ਫੂਲ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਕੀ ਜਿਉ ਪਖੀਆ ॥
tab lai ke kripaan ju kaatt de ar fool gulaab kee jiau pakheea |
She chopped with her sword all the enemies like the petals of roses.,
ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਕੀ ਛੀਟ ਪਰੀ ਤਨ ਚੰਡਿ ਕੇ ਸੋ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਵਿ ਨੇ ਲਖੀਆ ॥
sraun kee chheett paree tan chandd ke so upamaa kav ne lakheea |
One drop of blood fell on the body of the goddess, the poet hath imagined its comparison in this way,
ਜਨੁ ਕੰਚਨ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਮੈ ਜਰੀਆ ਜਰਿ ਲਾਲ ਮਨੀ ਜੁ ਬਨਾ ਰਖੀਆ ॥੧੬੪॥
jan kanchan mandir mai jareea jar laal manee ju banaa rakheea |164|
In the temple of gold, the jeweler has got studded the red jewel in decoration.164.,
ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਿਓ ਬਹੁ ਚੰਡਿ ਨੇ ਏਤੋ ਕਰਿਓ ਮਧੁ ਸੋ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
krudh kai judh kario bahu chandd ne eto kario madh so abinaasee |
With anger, Chandi fought a longg war, the like of which had earlier been foutht by Vishnu with the demons Madhu.,
ਦੈਤਨ ਕੇ ਬਧ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਨਿਜ ਭਾਲ ਤੇ ਜੁਆਲ ਕੀ ਲਾਟ ਨਿਕਾਸੀ ॥
daitan ke badh kaaran ko nij bhaal te juaal kee laatt nikaasee |
In order to destroy the demons, the goddess hath drawn forth the flame of fire from her forehead.,
ਕਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਛ ਭਈ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਰਨਿ ਫੈਲ ਰਹੀ ਭਯ ਭੀਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸੀ ॥
kaalee pratachh bhee tih te ran fail rahee bhay bheer prabhaa see |
From that flame, kali manifested herself and her glory spread like fear amongst cowards.,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਕੋ ਫੋਰਿ ਕੈ ਧਾਰ ਪਰੀ ਧਰਿ ਪੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੬੫॥

It seemed that breaking the peak of Sumeru, the of Yamuna hath fallen down .165.,
ਮੇਰੁ ਹਲਿਓ ਦਹਲਿਓ ਸੁਰਲੋਕੁ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਭੂਧਰ ਭਾਜਤ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
mer halio dahalio suralok daso dis bhoodhar bhaajat bhaaree |
The Sumeru shook and the heaven was terrified and the big mountains began to move speedily in all the ten directions.,
ਚਾਲਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਤਿਹ ਚਉਦਹਿ ਲੋਕ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਭਇਓ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
chaal pario tih chaudeh lok mai braham bheo man mai bhram bhaaree |
In all the fourteen worlds there was great commotion and a great illusion was created in the mind of Brahma.,
ਧਿਆਨ ਰਹਿਓ ਨ ਜਟੀ ਸੁ ਫਟੀ ਧਰਿ ਯੌ ਬਲਿ ਕੈ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਕਿਲਕਾਰੀ ॥
dhiaan rahio na jattee su fattee dhar yau bal kai ran mai kilakaaree |
The meditative state of Shiva was broken and the earth burst when with great force Kali shouted loudly.,
ਦੈਤਨ ਕੇ ਬਧਿ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਲ ਸੀ ਕਾਲੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ॥੧੬੬॥
daitan ke badh kaaran ko kar kaal see kaalee kripaan sanbhaaree |166|
In order to kill the demons, Kali hath taken the deathlike sword in her hand.166.,

ਚੰਡੀ ਕਾਲੀ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਇਹੈ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

Chandi and Kali both together took this decision,
ਹਉ ਹਨਿ ਹੋ ਤੂ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਪੀ ਅਰਿ ਦਲਿ ਡਾਰਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੧੬੭॥
hau han ho too sraun pee ar dal ddaareh maar |167|
“I shall kill the demons and thou drinkest their blood, in this way we shall kill all the enemies.”167.

ਕਾਲੀ ਅਉ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਚੰਡਿ ਸੁ ਘੇਰੇ ਸਬੈ ਬਨ ਜੈਸੇ ਦਵਾ ਪੈ ॥
kaalee aau kehar sang lai chandd su ghere sabai ban jaise davaa pai |
Taking Kali and the lion with her, Chandi besieged all the Raktavijas like the forest by the fire.,
ਚੰਡਿ ਕੇ ਬਾਨਨ ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੇ ਦੈਤ ਜਰੈ ਜੈਸੇ ਈਟ ਅਵਾ ਪੈ ॥
chandd ke baanan tej prabhaav te dait jarai jaise eett avaa pai |
With the power of the arrows of Chandi, the demons were burnt like bricks in the kiln.,
ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਪੀਓ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਕਵਿ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਲੀਯੋ ਭਾਉ ਭਵਾ ਪੈ ॥
kaalikaa sraun peeo tin ko kav ne man mai leeyo bhaau bhavaa pai |
Kali drank their blood and the poet hath created this image regarding Kali.,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਕੇ ਨੀਰ ਸਬੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ਪਰੋ ਹੈ ਤਵਾ ਪੈ ॥੧੬੮॥
maanahu sindh ke neer sabai mil dhaae kai jaae paro hai tavaa pai |168|
She accomplished the feat like the grand mythological opening in which the water of all the oceans merges.168.,
ਚੰਡਿ ਹਨੇ ਅਰੁ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਤ ਬਿੰਦਨ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
chandd hane ar kaalikaa kop kai sraunat bindan so ih keeno |
The demons were killed by Chnadi and Kali in great rage treated the Raktavijas in this way,
ਖਗ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਹਕਾਰ ਤਬੈ ਕਿਲਕਾਰ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਸਭੈ ਦਲੁ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
khag sanbhaar hakaar tabai kilakaar bidaar sabhai dal deeno |
She held her sword and challenging the demons and shouting loudly, she destroyed all the army.,
ਆਮਿਖ ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਅਚਿਓ ਬਹੁ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਮੈ ਕਵਿ ਇਉ ਮਨਿ ਚੀਨੋ ॥
aamikh sron achio bahu kaalikaa taa chhab mai kav iau man cheeno |
Kali ate and drank enormous quantity of flesh and blood, the poet hath depicted her glory like this:,
ਮਾਨੋ ਛੁਧਾਤਰੁ ਹੁਇ ਕੈ ਮਨੁਛ ਸੁ ਸਾਲਨ ਲਾਸਹਿ ਸੋ ਬਹੁ ਪੀਨੋ ॥੧੬੯॥
maano chhudhaatar hue kai manuchh su saalan laaseh so bahu peeno |169|
As though afflicted with hunger, the human being hath eaten the salted curry and drank the soup abundantly.169.,
ਜੁਧ ਰਕਤ੍ਰ ਬੀਜ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰ ਸੋ ਸੁਰ ਦੇਖਤ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
judh rakatr beej kariyo dharanee par so sur dekhat saare |
The war that Raktavija waged on the earth, it was seen by all the gods.,
ਜੇਤਕ ਸ੍ਰੌਨ ਕੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਗਿਰੈ ਉਠਿ ਤੇਤਕ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੇਕਹਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
jetak srauan kee boond girai utth tetak roop anekeh dhaare |
As many drops of blood fall, so many demons manifest and come forward.,
ਜੁਗਨਿ ਆਨਿ ਫਿਰੀ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਸੀਸ ਜਟਾ ਕਰਿ ਖਪਰ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
jugan aan firee chahoon or te sees jattaa kar khapar bhaare |
The vamps have reached from all sides, they have matted locks on their heads and bowls in their hands.
ਸ੍ਰੋਨਤ ਬੂੰਦ ਪਰੈ ਅਚਵੈ ਸਭ ਖਗ ਲੈ ਚੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥੧੭੦॥
sronat boond parai achavai sabh khag lai chandd prachandd sanghaare |170|
They drink that drop of blood which falls in their bowls and taking the sword Chandi goes on killing very swiftly.170.,
ਕਾਲੀ ਅਉ ਚੰਡਿ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ਦੈਤ ਸੋ ਜੁਧ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਸਜਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
kaalee aau chandd kuvandd sanbhaar kai dait so judh nisang sajio hai |
Kali and Chandi, holding the bow, have begun the war unhesitatingly with the demons.,
ਮਾਰ ਮਹਾ ਰਨ ਮਧ ਭਈ ਪਹਰੇਕ ਲਉ ਸਾਰ ਸੋ ਸਾਰ ਬਜਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
maar mahaa ran madh bhee paharek lau saar so saar bajio hai |
There was great killing in the battlefield, for one watch of the day, the steel rattled with the steel.
ਸ੍ਰਉਨਤ ਬਿੰਦ ਗਿਰਿਓ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰ ਇਉ ਅਸਿ ਸੋ ਅਰਿ ਸੀਸ ਭਜਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
sraunat bind girio dharanee par iau as so ar sees bhajio hai |
Raktavija hath fallen on the ground and in this way the head of the enemy hath broken.,
ਮਾਨੋ ਅਤੀਤ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਚਿਤ ਕੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਸਭੈ ਨਿਜ ਮਾਲ ਤਜਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੧॥
maano ateet kariyo chit ke dhanavant sabhai nij maal tajio hai |171|
It seemed that the rich person hath detached himself from the riches and hath forsaken all his wealth. 171.,
ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ ਕਾ ॥

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਆਗਲੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣੁ ਭਉ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
maaeaa mohu man aagalarraa praanee jaraa maran bhau visar geaa |
The mind is totally attached to Maya; the mortal has forgotten his fear of old age and death.
ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਗਸਹਿ ਕਮਲਾ ਜਿਉ ਪਰ ਘਰਿ ਜੋਹਹਿ ਕਪਟ ਨਰਾ ॥੧॥
kuttanb dekh bigaseh kamalaa jiau par ghar joheh kapatt naraa |1|
Gazing upon his family, he blossoms forth like the lotus flower; the deceitful person watches and covets the homes of others. ||1||
ਦੂੜਾ ਆਇਓਹਿ ਜਮਹਿ ਤਣਾ ॥
doorraa aaeohi jameh tanaa |
When the powerful Messenger of Death comes,
ਤਿਨ ਆਗਲੜੈ ਮੈ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
tin aagalarrai mai rehan na jaae |
No one can stand against his awesome power.
ਕੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਜਣੁ ਆਇ ਕਹੈ ॥
koee koee saajan aae kahai |
Rare, very rare, is that friend who comes and says,
ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ਲੈ ਬਾਹੜੀ ਵਲਾਇ ॥
mil mere beetthulaa lai baaharree valaae |
"O my Beloved, take me into Your Embrace!
ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਮਈਆ ਮੈ ਲੇਹਿ ਛਡਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mil mere rameea mai lehi chhaddaae |1| rahaau |
O my Lord, please save me!" ||1||Pause||
ਅਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਭੋਗ ਰਾਜ ਬਿਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਪੈ ਅਮਰੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
anik anik bhog raaj bisare praanee sansaar saagar pai amar bheaa |
Indulging in all sorts of princely pleasures, O mortal, you have forgotten God; you have fallen into the world-ocean, and you think that you have become immortal.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੂਠਾ ਚੇਤਸਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਓ ਆਲਸੀਆ ॥੨॥
maaeaa mootthaa chetas naahee janam gavaaeo aalaseea |2|
Cheated and plundered by Maya, you do not think of God, and you waste your life in laziness. ||2||
ਬਿਖਮ ਘੋਰ ਪੰਥਿ ਚਾਲਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਤਹ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸੰ ॥
bikham ghor panth chaalanaa praanee rav sas teh na pravesan |
The path you must walk is treacherous and terrifying, O mortal; neither the sun nor the moon shine there.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਬ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਇਆ ਜਾਂ ਤਜੀਅਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੰ ॥੩॥
maaeaa mohu tab bisar geaa jaan tajeeale sansaaran |3|
Your emotional attachment to Maya will be forgotten, when you have to leave this world. ||3||
ਆਜੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਪੇਖੀਅਲੇ ਧਰਮਰਾਓ ॥
aaj merai man pragatt bheaa hai pekheeale dharamaraao |
Today, it became clear to my mind that the Righteous Judge of Dharma is watching us.
ਤਹ ਕਰ ਦਲ ਕਰਨਿ ਮਹਾਬਲੀ ਤਿਨ ਆਗਲੜੈ ਮੈ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥
teh kar dal karan mahaabalee tin aagalarrai mai rehan na jaae |4|
His messengers, with their awesome power, crush people between their hands; I cannot stand against them. ||4||
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਰਤੁ ਹੈ ਤਾ ਵਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਣਿ ਰਤੜਾ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਾ ॥
je ko moon upades karat hai taa van trin ratarraa naaraaeinaa |
If someone is going to teach me something, let it be that the Lord is pervading the forests and fields.
ਐ ਜੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਬਦਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨੁ ਰਾਮਈਆ ॥੫॥੨॥
ai jee toon aape sabh kichh jaanadaa badat trilochan raameea |5|2|
O Dear Lord, You Yourself know everything; so prays Trilochan, Lord. ||5||2||
ਸ੍ਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀਉ ਕਾ ॥

ਅਚਰਜ ਏਕੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਪੰਡੀਆ ਅਬ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
acharaj ek sunahu re panddeea ab kichh kehan na jaaee |
Listen, O religious scholar: the One Lord alone is Wondrous; no one can describe Him.
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਗਣ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਜਿਨਿ ਮੋਹੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਮੇਖੁਲੀ ਲਾਈ ॥੧॥
sur nar gan gandhrab jin mohe tribhavan mekhulee laaee |1|
He fascinates the angels, the celestial singers and the heavenly musicians; he has strung the three worlds upon His Thread. ||1||
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਅਨਹਦ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਬਾਜੈ ॥
raajaa raam anahad kinguree baajai |
The Unstruck Melody of the Sovereign Lord's Harp vibrates;
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਨਾਦ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kee disatt naad liv laagai |1| rahaau |
by His Glance of Grace, we are lovingly attuned to the Sound-current of the Naad. ||1||Pause||
ਭਾਠੀ ਗਗਨੁ ਸਿੰਙਿਆ ਅਰੁ ਚੁੰਙਿਆ ਕਨਕ ਕਲਸ ਇਕੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
bhaatthee gagan singiaa ar chungiaa kanak kalas ik paaeaa |
The Tenth Gate of my crown chakra is the distilling fire, and the channels of the Ida and Pingala are the funnels, to pour in and empty out the golden vat.
ਤਿਸੁ ਮਹਿ ਧਾਰ ਚੁਐ ਅਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰਸ ਮਹਿ ਰਸਨ ਚੁਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
tis meh dhaar chuai at niramal ras meh rasan chuaaeaa |2|
Into that vat, there trickles a gentle stream of the most sublime and pure essence of all distilled essences. ||2||
ਏਕ ਜੁ ਬਾਤ ਅਨੂਪ ਬਨੀ ਹੈ ਪਵਨ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥
ek ju baat anoop banee hai pavan piaalaa saajiaa |
Something wonderful has happened-the breath has become the cup.
ਤੀਨਿ ਭਵਨ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਵਨੁ ਹੈ ਰਾਜਾ ॥੩॥
teen bhavan meh eko jogee kahahu kavan hai raajaa |3|
In all the three worlds, such a Yogi is unique. What king can compare to him? ||3||
ਐਸੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਪੁਰਖੋਤਮ ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
aise giaan pragattiaa purakhotam kahu kabeer rang raataa |
This spiritual wisdom of God, the Supreme Soul, has illuminated my being. Says Kabeer, I am attuned to His Love.
ਅਉਰ ਦੁਨੀ ਸਭ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਨ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
aaur dunee sabh bharam bhulaanee man raam rasaaein maataa |4|3|
All the rest of the world is deluded by doubt, while my mind is intoxicated with the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||4||3||
