ਰਾਮਜਨੀ ਬਹੁ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਨਾਏ ॥
raamajanee bahu charitr banaae |
ਹਾਇ ਭਾਇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥
haae bhaae bahu bhaat dikhaae |
The concubine implied numerous ploys, performed various
ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਤੰਤ੍ਰੋ ਅਤਿ ਕਰੇ ॥
jantr mantr tantro at kare |
Blandishments, and executed several magical charms,
ਕੈਸੇ ਹੂੰ ਰਾਇ ਨ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਧਰੇ ॥੩੦॥
kaise hoon raae na kar mai dhare |30|
But she could not win the favour of the Raja.(30)

ਚੋਰ ਚੋਰ ਕਹਿ ਉਠੀ ਸੁ ਆਂਗਨ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
chor chor keh utthee su aangan jaae kai |
Then she jumped out to the courtyard and shouted, ‘thief, thief,’
ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਦਿਖਾਯੋ ਤਾਹਿ ਮਿਲਨ ਹਿਤ ਰਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
traas dikhaayo taeh milan hit raae kai |
To frighten the Raja.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਇ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
bahur kahee triy aae baat sun leejiyai |
As he refused to have sex with her,
ਹੋ ਅਬੈ ਬਧੈਹੌ ਤੋਹਿ ਕਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਭਜੀਜਿਯੈ ॥੩੧॥
ho abai badhaihau tohi ki mohi bhajeejiyai |31|
She wanted to entrap him.(31)
ਚੋਰ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੋਗ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥
chor bachan sun log pahunche aae kai |
People, hearing the call of ‘thief’, came running.
ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਿ ਸੋਤ ਉਠੀ ਬਰਰਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
tin prat kahiyo ki sot utthee bararaae kai |
But she told them that she was shouting in her dream.
ਗਏ ਧਾਮ ਤੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੌ ਕਰ ਪਕਰਿ ॥
ge dhaam te kahiyo mitr kau kar pakar |
When they had gone away, holding Raja’s arm she said,
ਹੋ ਅਬੈ ਬਧੈਹੌ ਤੋਹਿ ਕਿ ਮੋ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਿ ॥੩੨॥
ho abai badhaihau tohi ki mo sau bhog kar |32|
‘Either you have sex with me or I will get you trammelled.’(32)

ਤਬੈ ਰਾਇ ਚਿਤ ਕੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਐਸੇ ਕਿਯਾ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
tabai raae chit ke bikhai aise kiyaa bichaar |
Then the Raja contemplated, ‘It will be wise for me to play some
ਚਰਿਤ ਖੇਲਿ ਕਛੁ ਨਿਕਸਿਯੈ ਇਹੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਾ ਸਾਰ ॥੩੩॥
charit khel kachh nikasiyai ihe mantr kaa saar |33|
Trick to get out of this place.(33)
ਭਜੌ ਤੌ ਇਜਤ ਜਾਤ ਹੈ ਭੋਗ ਕਿਯੋ ਧ੍ਰਮ ਜਾਇ ॥
bhajau tau ijat jaat hai bhog kiyo dhram jaae |
If I run out, my honour is ruined,
ਕਠਿਨ ਬਨੀ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਬਾਤ ਤਿਹ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੈ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੩੪॥
katthin banee duhoon baat tih karataa karai sahaae |34|
And if I indulge in sex my Dharma, the righteousness, is lost. (34)
ਪੂਤ ਹੋਇ ਤੌ ਭਾਡ ਵਹ ਸੁਤਾ ਤੌ ਬੇਸ੍ਰਯਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
poot hoe tau bhaadd veh sutaa tau besrayaa hoe |
ਭੋਗ ਕਰੇ ਭਾਜਤ ਧਰਮ ਭਜੇ ਬੰਧਾਵਤ ਸੋਇ ॥੩੫॥
bhog kare bhaajat dharam bhaje bandhaavat soe |35|
‘Both the paths are arduous, O God, please help me.’(35)

ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਬਾਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥

ਦੇਖਤ ਥੋ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
dekhat tho mai preet tihaaree |
‘O my love! Listen to me. One’s birth is worthless if,
ਤੁਮ ਸੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਹਾਥ ਜੋ ਪਰੈ ॥
tum see triyaa haath jo parai |
ਬਡੋ ਮੂੜ ਜੋ ਤਾਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਰੈ ॥੩੬॥
baddo moorr jo taeh praharai |36|
After coming across a pretty woman like you, one abandons her.

ਰੂਪਵੰਤ ਤੋ ਸੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਪਰੈ ਜੁ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਆਇ ॥
roopavant to see triyaa parai ju kar mai aae |
ਤਾਹਿ ਤ︀ਯਾਗ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਕਰੈ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਨਮ ਲਜਾਇ ॥੩੭॥
taeh tayaag man mai karai taa ko janam lajaae |37|
‘Dishonourable would be the descent of such a person.’(37)
ਪੋਸਤ ਭਾਗ ਅਫੀਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੀਜੈ ਤੁਰਤ ਮੰਗਾਇ ॥
posat bhaag afeem bahut leejai turat mangaae |
‘You, immediately, make the marijuana, cannabis, opium available,
ਨਿਜੁ ਕਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਿਵਾਇਯੈ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਇ ॥੩੮॥
nij kar mohi pivaaeiyai hridai harakh upajaae |38|
And joyfully serve them with your own hands.(38)
ਤੁਮ ਮਦਰਾ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਘਨੋ ਹਮੈ ਪਿਵਾਵਹੁ ਭੰਗ ॥
tum madaraa peevahu ghano hamai pivaavahu bhang |
‘Yourself, you drink wine, and let me quaff cannabis to enable me to
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਹਰ ਕੌ ਮਾਨਿਹੌ ਭੋਗਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ਸੰਗ ॥੩੯॥
chaar pehar kau maanihau bhog tihaare sang |39|
Enjoy sex with you during all the four watches.’(39)

ਫੂਲਿ ਗਈ ਸੁਨ ਬਾਤ ਅਯਾਨੀ ॥
fool gee sun baat ayaanee |
ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
bhed abhed kee baat na jaanee |
Hearing this, that mindless was overwhelmed, and did not comprehend the real motive.
ਅਧਿਕ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੇ ਮੈ ਸੁਖ ਉਪਜਾਯੋ ॥
adhik hride mai sukh upajaayo |
ਅਮਲ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੋ ਤੁਰਤ ਮੰਗਾਯੋ ॥੪੦॥
amal kahiyo so turat mangaayo |40|
Being too happy, she arranged all the intoxicants which were asked for.(40)

ਪੋਸਤ ਭਾਗ ਅਫੀਮ ਬਹੁ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗ ਘੁਟਾਇ ॥
posat bhaag afeem bahu gahiree bhaag ghuttaae |
The woman brought the marijuana, cannabis and opium, and
ਤੁਰਤ ਤਰਨਿ ਲ︀ਯਾਵਤ ਭਈ ਮਦ ਸਤ ਬਾਰ ਚੁਆਇ ॥੪੧॥
turat taran layaavat bhee mad sat baar chuaae |41|
Presented to him the thoroughly grounded cannabis along with seven times decanted wine.( 41)

ਰਾਇ ਤਬੈ ਚਿਤ ਭੀਤਰ ਕਿਯਾ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਹੈ ॥
raae tabai chit bheetar kiyaa bichaar hai |
The Raja had determined the substance of her charm, (and planned,)
ਯਾਹਿ ਨ ਭਜਿਹੌ ਆਜੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਾ ਸਾਰ ਹੈ ॥
yaeh na bhajihau aaj mantr kaa saar hai |
‘After enchanting her and making her to lie down in the bed.
ਅਧਿਕ ਮਤ ਕਰਿ ਯਾਹਿ ਖਾਟ ਪਰ ਡਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
adhik mat kar yaeh khaatt par ddaar kai |
‘Then leaving sixty gold coins, I will run away,
ਹੋ ਸਾਠਿ ਮੁਹਰ ਦੈ ਭਜਿਹੋਂ ਧਰਮ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥੪੨॥
ho saatth muhar dai bhajihon dharam sanbhaar kai |42|
And, thus, save my Dharma.(42)

ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੀ ਪੈਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ॥
reet na jaanat preet kee paisan kee parateet |
‘She does not understand the essence of love as money is the only her passion.
ਬਿਛੂ ਬਿਸੀਅਰੁ ਬੇਸਯਾ ਕਹੋ ਕਵਨ ਕੇ ਮੀਤ ॥੪੩॥
bichhoo biseear besayaa kaho kavan ke meet |43|
‘How can a reptile and a prostitute think in good terms of their friends?’(43)
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਮਦ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਯੋ ਘਨੋ ਅਤਿ ਚਿਤ ਮੋਦ ਬਢਾਇ ॥
taa ko mad prayaayo ghano at chit mod badtaae |
Satisfied and pondering this way, the Raja served her wine in abundance.
ਮਤ ਸਵਾਈ ਖਾਟ ਪਰ ਆਪਿ ਭਜਨ ਕੇ ਭਾਇ ॥੪੪॥
mat savaaee khaatt par aap bhajan ke bhaae |44|
To run away he put her, when intoxicated with wine, in the bed.(44)
ਮਦਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਯੋ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਕੋ ਨਿਜੁ ਕਰ ਪ︀ਯਾਲੇ ਡਾਰਿ ॥
madaraa prayaayo tarun ko nij kar payaale ddaar |
The Raja had served her the cups full of wine with his own hands and
ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸੌ ਤਿਹ ਮਤ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਖਾਟ ਸੁਵਾਰਿ ॥੪੫॥
eih chhal sau tih mat kar raakhee khaatt suvaar |45|
Cunningly made her to sleep.(45)

ਭਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਨਿਜੁ ਕਰ ਪ︀ਯਾਲੇ ਮਦ ਤਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਇਯੋ ॥
bhar bhar nij kar payaale mad tih prayaaeiyo |
He had made her to drink cups after cups of the wine
ਰਾਮਜਨੀ ਸੌ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੁ ਨੇਹ ਜਤਾਇਯੋ ॥
raamajanee sau adhik su neh jataaeiyo |
And showed extraordinary affection.
ਮਤ ਹੋਇ ਸ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ਰਾਇ ਤਬ ਯੌ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
mat hoe svai gee raae tab yau kiyo |
When she went into deep slumber,
ਹੋ ਸਾਠਿ ਮੁਹਰ ਦੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਭਜਨ ਕੋ ਮਗੁ ਲਿਯੋ ॥੪੬॥
ho saatth muhar dai taeh bhajan ko mag liyo |46|
He put sixty gold coins and took to his way.( 46)
ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਸੌ ਹਿਤ ਕਰੇ ਨ ਤੁਮ ਤਿਹ ਸੌ ਕਰੋ ॥
jo tum sau hit kare na tum tih sau karo |
If a (strange lady) wants to make love with you, do not show her affection.
ਜੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਰਸ ਢਰੇ ਨ ਤਿਹ ਰਸ ਤੁਮ ਢਰੋ ॥
jo tumare ras dtare na tih ras tum dtaro |
One who wants to relish your (sensual) companionship, don’t relate with her.
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਆਪੁ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਇਯੈ ॥
jaa ke chit kee baat aap neh paaeiyai |
One whose mind is not intelligible enough,
ਹੋ ਤਾ ਕਹ ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਕਬਹੁ ਜਤਾਇਯੈ ॥੪੭॥
ho taa keh chit ko bhed na kabahu jataaeiyai |47|
Don’t divulge your inner thought.(47)

ਰਾਇ ਭਜ︀ਯੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਮਤ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਠਿ ਮੁਹਰ ਦੈ ਤਾਹਿ ॥
raae bhajayo triy mat kar saatth muhar dai taeh |
Intoxicating the woman and leaving sixty gold coins, the Raja ran away.
ਆਨਿ ਬਿਰਾਜ੍ਰਯੋ ਧਾਮ ਮੈ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਨ ਹੇਰਿਯੋ ਵਾਹਿ ॥੪੮॥
aan biraajrayo dhaam mai kinahoon na heriyo vaeh |48|
Without being noticed by anybody he returned and settled down in his own house.( 48)

ਤਬੈ ਰਾਇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਇ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਣ ਐਸੇ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
tabai raae grih aae su pran aise kiyo |
ਭਲੇ ਜਤਨ ਸੌ ਰਾਖਿ ਧਰਮ ਅਬ ਮੈ ਲਿਯੋ ॥
bhale jatan sau raakh dharam ab mai liyo |
Arriving home, he thanked his luck for saving his Dharma this time and determined,
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਨਿਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਬਿਖੇਰਿਹੌ ॥
des des nij prabh kee prabhaa bikherihau |
‘Now I will roam around different countries to spread God’s exaltations,
ਹੋ ਆਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕਹ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਹੇਰਿਹੌ ॥੪੯॥
ho aan triyaa keh bahur na kabahoon herihau |49|
And swore never to heed to a strange (woman).(49)

ਵਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਗ੍ਰਯਾ ਤਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਬ︀ਯਾਪਤ ਮੋ ਹਿਯ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
vahai pratagrayaa tadin te bayaapat mo hiy maeh |
ਤਾ ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਪਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੌ ਹੇਰਤ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੫੦॥
taa din te par naar kau herat kabahoon naeh |50|
‘The same determination is abiding in my mind and I will never attend to another’s woman.(50)(1)

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਐਸੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਰਹੁ ॥
aisee kirapaa mohi karahu |
Bless me with such mercy, Lord,
ਸੰਤਹ ਚਰਣ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਮਾਥਾ ਨੈਨ ਦਰਸੁ ਤਨਿ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਰਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
santah charan hamaaro maathaa nain daras tan dhoor parahu |1| rahaau |
that my forehead may touch the feet of the Saints, and my eyes may behold the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, and my body may fall at the dust of their feet. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਬਾਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਮਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਧਰਹੁ ॥
gur ko sabad merai heearai baasai har naamaa man sang dharahu |
May the Word of the Guru's Shabad abide within my heart, and the Lord's Name be enshrined within my mind.
ਤਸਕਰ ਪੰਚ ਨਿਵਾਰਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਗਲੋ ਭਰਮਾ ਹੋਮਿ ਜਰਹੁ ॥੧॥
tasakar panch nivaarahu tthaakur sagalo bharamaa hom jarahu |1|
Drive out the five thieves, O my Lord and Master, and let my doubts all burn like incense. ||1||
ਜੋ ਤੁਮੑ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨੈ ਭਾਵਨੁ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਟਰਹੁ ॥
jo tuma karahu soee bhal maanai bhaavan dubidhaa door ttarahu |
Whatever You do, I accept as good; I have driven out the sense of duality.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਦਾਤੇ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਲੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਰਹੁ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੧੯॥
naanak ke prabh tum hee daate santasang le mohi udharahu |2|3|119|
You are Nanak's God, the Great Giver; in the Congregation of the Saints, emancipate me. ||2||3||119||

ਐਸੀ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਮੰਗਾ ॥

I ask for such advice from Your humble servants,
ਤੁਮੑਰੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੋ ਰੰਗਾ ॥
tumaro dhiaan tumaaro rangaa |
that I may meditate on You, and love You,
ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੇ ਅੰਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tumaree sevaa tumaare angaa |1| rahaau |
and serve You, and become part and parcel of Your Being. ||1||Pause||
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਸੰਭਾਖਨੁ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਊਠਨੁ ਬੈਠਨੁ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਾ ॥
jan kee ttehal sanbhaakhan jan siau aootthan baitthan jan kai sangaa |
I serve His humble servants, and speak with them, and abide with them.
ਜਨ ਚਰ ਰਜ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਥੈ ਲਾਗੀ ਆਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਨੰਤ ਤਰੰਗਾ ॥੧॥
jan char raj mukh maathai laagee aasaa pooran anant tarangaa |1|
I apply the dust of the feet of His humble servants to my face and forehead; my hopes, and the many waves of desire, are fulfilled. ||1||
ਜਨ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਤੀਰਥ ਕੋਟਿ ਗੰਗਾ ॥
jan paarabraham jaa kee niramal mahimaa jan ke charan teerath kott gangaa |
Immaculate and pure are the praises of the humble servants of the Supreme Lord God; the feet of His humble servants are equal to millions of sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਕੀਓ ਮਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਹਰੇ ਕਲੰਗਾ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੨੦॥
jan kee dhoor keeo majan naanak janam janam ke hare kalangaa |2|4|120|
Nanak bathes in the dust of the feet of His humble servants; the sinful resides of countless incarnations have been washed away. ||2||4||120||

If it pleases You, then cherish me.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਤੁਮੑ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarabraham paramesar satigur ham baarik tuma pitaa kirapaal |1| rahaau |
O Supreme Lord God, Transcendent Lord, O True Guru, I am Your child, and You are my Merciful Father. ||1||Pause||
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਗੁਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਹੁਚਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਘਾਲ ॥
mohi niragun gun naahee koee pahuch na saakau tumaree ghaal |
I am worthless; I have no virtues at all. I cannot understand Your actions.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਮਾਲ ॥੧॥
tumaree gat mit tum hee jaanahu jeeo pindd sabh tumaro maal |1|
You alone know Your state and extent. My soul, body and property are all Yours. ||1||
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਨਬੋਲਤ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਹਾਲ ॥
antarajaamee purakh suaamee anabolat hee jaanahu haal |

tan man seetal hoe hamaaro naanak prabh jeeo nadar nihaal |2|5|121|
My body and mind are cooled and soothed, O Nanak, by God's Glance of Grace. ||2||5||121||

Keep me with You forever, O God.
ਤੂ ਹਮਰੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਨਮੋਹਨੁ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਸਗਲ ਅਕਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
too hamaro preetam manamohan tujh bin jeevan sagal akaath |1| rahaau |
You are my Beloved, the Enticer of my mind; without You, my life is totally useless. ||1||Pause||
ਰੰਕ ਤੇ ਰਾਉ ਕਰਤ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
rank te raau karat khin bheetar prabh mero anaath ko naath |
In an instant, You transform the beggar into a king; O my God, You are the Master of the masterless.
ਜਲਤ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਨ ਆਪਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥
jalat agan meh jan aap udhaare kar apune de raakhe haath |1|
You save Your humble servants from the burning fire; You make them Your own, and with Your Hand, You protect them. ||1||
ਸੀਤਲ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਮਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸ੍ਰਮ ਸਗਲੇ ਲਾਥ ॥
seetal sukh paaeo man tripate har simarat sram sagale laath |
I have found peace and cool tranquility, and my mind is satisfied; meditating in remembrance on the Lord, all struggles are ended.
ਨਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਵਰ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਸਗਲ ਅਕਾਥ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੨੨॥
nidh nidhaan naanak har sevaa avar siaanap sagal akaath |2|6|122|
Service to the Lord, O Nanak, is the treasure of treasures; all other clever tricks are useless. ||2||6||122||
