ਤੁਹੀ ਖੜਗਧਾਰਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਬਾਢਵਾਰੀ ॥
tuhee kharragadhaaraa tuhee baadtavaaree |
You are the Broad Sword with decapitating edge.
ਤੁਹੀ ਤੀਰ ਤਰਵਾਰ ਕਾਤੀ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥
tuhee teer taravaar kaatee kattaaree |
You are Arrow, Dagger,
ਹਲਬੀ ਜੁਨਬੀ ਮਗਰਬੀ ਤੁਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
halabee junabee magarabee tuhee hai |
(And the sword from regions of) Halb, South, and West.
ਨਿਹਾਰੌ ਜਹਾ ਆਪੁ ਠਾਢੀ ਵਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
nihaarau jahaa aap tthaadtee vahee hai |1|
I can envision you to the limits of my perception.(1)
ਤੁਹੀ ਜੋਗ ਮਾਯਾ ਤੁਸੀ ਬਾਕਬਾਨੀ ॥
tuhee jog maayaa tusee baakabaanee |
You are the capable deity -
ਤੁਹੀ ਆਪੁ ਰੂਪਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
tuhee aap roopaa tuhee sree bhavaanee |
Sarswati, Roopa and Bhawani.
ਤੁਹੀ ਬਿਸਨ ਤੂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੂ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਜੈ ॥
tuhee bisan too braham too rudr raajai |
You are the divinity - Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva, and, Majestically,
ਤੁਹੀ ਬਿਸ੍ਵ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਜੈ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ॥੨॥
tuhee bisv maataa sadaa jai biraajai |2|
You are established in motherly form.(2)
ਤੁਹੀ ਦੇਵ ਤੂ ਦੈਤ ਤੈ ਜਛੁ ਉਪਾਏ ॥
tuhee dev too dait tai jachh upaae |
You have created Deities, Demons
ਤੁਹੀ ਤੁਰਕ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਬਨਾਏ ॥
tuhee turak hindoo jagat mai banaae |
Prayer-worthies, Turks and Hindus.
ਤੁਹੀ ਪੰਥ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਅਵਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
tuhee panth hvai avataree srisatt maahee |
Descending in various Forms,
ਤੁਹੀ ਬਕ੍ਰਤ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਾਦੋ ਬਕਾਹੀ ॥੩॥
tuhee bakrat te braham baado bakaahee |3|
You have produced the altercating folks.(3)
ਤੁਹੀ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਤ ਰੂਪਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਚਾਰੁ ਨੈਨਾ ॥
tuhee bikrat roopaa tuhee chaar nainaa |
You have rueful looks as well as you adore beautiful eyes.
ਤੁਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਬਾਲਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਬਕ੍ਰ ਬੈਨਾ ॥
tuhee roop baalaa tuhee bakr bainaa |
You are pretty, and, also, you possess contorted features.
ਤੁਹੀ ਬਕ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਬੇਦ ਚਾਰੋ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥
tuhee bakr te bed chaaro uchaare |
You enunciate the Four Vedas,
ਤੁਮੀ ਸੁੰਭ ਨੈਸੁੰਭ ਦਾਨੌ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥੪॥
tumee sunbh naisunbh daanau sanghaare |4|
But don’t hesitate to decimate the Demons.( 4)
ਜਗੈ ਜੰਗ ਤੋ ਸੌ ਭਜੈ ਭੂਪ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
jagai jang to sau bhajai bhoop bhaaree |
With you the dread of war increases.
ਬਧੇ ਛਾਡਿ ਬਾਨਾ ਕਢੀ ਬਾਢਵਾਰੀ ॥
badhe chhaadd baanaa kadtee baadtavaaree |
The great rulers pray to you and, with the swords and arrows, Annihilate the armies.
ਤੂ ਨਰਸਿੰਘ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਾਨਾਛ ਮਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥
too narasingh hvai kai hiraanaachh maarayo |
Guising as Narsing, the Sphinx, you smashed Harnakash.
ਤੁਮੀ ਦਾੜ ਪੈ ਭੂਮਿ ਕੋ ਭਾਰ ਧਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥੫॥
tumee daarr pai bhoom ko bhaar dhaarayo |5|
And incarnating as Varah in the form of a boar, You bore the weight of the earth.(5)
ਤੁਮੀ ਰਾਮ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਹਠੀ ਦੈਤ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
tumee raam hvai kai hatthee dait ghaayo |
Manifesting as Rama, you exterminated the stubborn Devil (Rawana).
ਤੁਮੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੰਸ ਕੇਸੀ ਖਪਾਯੋ ॥
tumee krisan hvai kans kesee khapaayo |
And turning into Krishana terminated Kans, the semi-bestial.
ਤੁਹੀ ਜਾਲਪਾ ਕਾਲਕਾ ਕੈ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
tuhee jaalapaa kaalakaa kai bakhaanee |
You are known as Jalpa, Kalka
ਤੁਹੀ ਚੌਦਹੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ॥੬॥
tuhee chauadahoon lok kee raajadhaanee |6|
And are the Rani of the fourteen continent.(6)
ਤੁਹੀ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
tuhee kaal kee raatr hvai kai bihaarai |
You are roaming around during the nights of death.
ਤੁਹੀ ਆਦਿ ਉਪਾਵੈ ਤੁਹੀ ਅੰਤ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
tuhee aad upaavai tuhee ant maarai |
You are the initiator of the Universe, and you destroy the Universe.
ਤੁਹੀ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਜੇਸ੍ਵਰੀ ਕੈ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
tuhee raaj raajesvaree kai bakhaanee |
You are narrated by the rulers of the rulers,
ਤੁਹੀ ਚੌਦਹੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਆਪੁ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੭॥
tuhee chauadahoon lok kee aap raanee |7|
As you are the Rani of Fourteen continents.(7)
ਤੁਮੈ ਲੋਗ ਉਗ੍ਰਾ ਅਤਿਉਗ੍ਰਾ ਬਖਾਨੈ ॥
tumai log ugraa atiaugraa bakhaanai |
People called you as the kindest of kinds,
ਤੁਮੈ ਅਦ੍ਰਜਾ ਬ︀ਯਾਸ ਬਾਨੀ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥
tumai adrajaa bayaas baanee pachhaanai |
And you are known through the sacred hymns of Vyas Rishi.
ਤੁਮੀ ਸੇਸ ਕੀ ਆਪੁ ਸੇਜਾ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
tumee ses kee aap sejaa banaaee |
You formulate the lion’s retreat,
ਤੁਹੀ ਕੇਸਰ ਬਾਹਨੀ ਕੈ ਕਹਾਈ ॥੮॥
tuhee kesar baahanee kai kahaaee |8|
And you are recognized as the lion, as well.(8)
ਤੁਤੋ ਸਾਰ ਕੂਟਾਨ ਕਿਰਿ ਕੈ ਸੁਹਾਯੋ ॥
tuto saar koottaan kir kai suhaayo |
The cutting dagger suits your hands,
ਤੁਹੀ ਚੰਡ ਔ ਮੁੰਡ ਦਾਨੋ ਖਪਾਯੋ ॥
tuhee chandd aau mundd daano khapaayo |
And you have obliterated the demons of Chund and Mund.
ਤੁਹੀ ਰਕਤ ਬੀਜਾਰਿ ਸੌ ਜੁਧ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
tuhee rakat beejaar sau judh keeno |
You invaded the enemies called Rakat Beej,
ਤੁਮੀ ਹਾਥ ਦੈ ਰਾਖਿ ਦੇਵੇ ਸੁ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੯॥
tumee haath dai raakh deve su leeno |9|
And you protected the divinity, as well.(9)
ਤੁਮੀ ਮਹਿਕ ਦਾਨੋ ਬਡੇ ਕੋਪਿ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
tumee mahik daano badde kop ghaayo |
In rage you terminated the demons of Mehkhasur,
ਤੂ ਧੂਮ੍ਰਾਛ ਜ੍ਵਾਲਾਛ ਕੀ ਸੌ ਜਰਾਯੋ ॥
too dhoomraachh jvaalaachh kee sau jaraayo |
And burned to death Dhumarach and Javalach.
ਤੁਮੀ ਕੌਚ ਬਕ੍ਰਤਾਪਨੇ ਤੇ ਉਚਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥
tumee kauach bakrataapane te uchaarayo |
With impregnable and protective mantras
ਬਿਡਾਲਾਛ ਔ ਚਿਛੁਰਾਛਸ ਬਿਡਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
biddaalaachh aau chichhuraachhas biddaarayo |10|
You finished Bidalach and Chichrachas.(10)
ਤੁਮੀ ਡਹ ਡਹ ਕੈ ਡਵਰ ਕੋ ਬਜਾਯੋ ॥
tumee ddeh ddeh kai ddavar ko bajaayo |
You beat the drum of invasion and,
ਤੁਹੀ ਕਹ ਕਹ ਕੈ ਹਸੀ ਜੁਧੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
tuhee keh keh kai hasee judh paayo |
Then, jovially, penetrated the warfare.
ਤੁਹੀ ਅਸਟ ਅਸਟ ਹਾਥ ਮੈ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
tuhee asatt asatt haath mai asatr dhaare |
Holding eight weapons in your eight arms, you won over the invincible brave-enemies,
ਅਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੇਸ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਪਛਾਰੇ ॥੧੧॥
ajai jai kite kes hoon te pachhaare |11|
And holding them from their hair knocked them down.( 11)
ਜਯੰਤੀ ਤੁਹੀ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਰੂਪ ਕਾਲੀ ॥
jayantee tuhee mangalaa roop kaalee |
You are Jayanti, Mangal, Kali, Kapali
ਕਪਾਲਨਿ ਤੁਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੁਹੀ ਭਦ੍ਰਕਾਲੀ ॥
kapaalan tuhee hai tuhee bhadrakaalee |
You are , Bhadarkali, Durga,
ਦ੍ਰੁਗਾ ਤੂ ਛਿਮਾ ਤੂ ਸਿਵਾ ਰੂਪ ਤੋਰੋ ॥
drugaa too chhimaa too sivaa roop toro |
And epitome of benevolence and emancipation.
ਤੂ ਧਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਸ੍ਵਾਹਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਮੋਰੋ ॥੧੨॥
too dhaatree svaahaa namasakaar moro |12|
You are universal protector, and I pay my obeisance to you.(l2)
ਤੁਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਸੰਧ੍ਰਯਾ ਅਰੁਨ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
tuhee praat sandhrayaa arun basatr dhaare |
Adoring red apparels, it is you, and in white clothes you are Usha
ਤੁਮੰ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਕਲ ਅੰਬਰ ਸੁ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
tuman dhayaan mai sukal anbar su dhaare |
And Sandhiya, wherefore capturing all the minds.
ਤੁਹੀ ਪੀਤ ਬਾਨਾ ਸਯੰਕਾਲ ਧਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥
tuhee peet baanaa sayankaal dhaarayo |
You, yourself, put on yellow garments, but You dislodge the ascetics
ਸਭੈ ਸਾਧੂਅਨ ਕੋ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹ ਟਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥੧੩॥
sabhai saadhooan ko mahaa moh ttaarayo |13|
(In yellow robes) of their infatuation.(l3)
ਤੁਹੀ ਆਪ ਕੋ ਰਕਤ ਦੰਤਾ ਕਹੈ ਹੈ ॥
tuhee aap ko rakat dantaa kahai hai |
You, with the red teeth,
ਤੁਹੀ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਚਿੰਤਾਨ ਹੂੰ ਕੋ ਚਬੈ ਹੈ ॥
tuhee bipr chintaan hoon ko chabai hai |
Destroy the apprehension of the Brahmins.
ਤੁਹੀ ਨੰਦ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਮੈ ਔਤਰੈਗੀ ॥
tuhee nand ke dhaam mai aauataraigee |
You incarnated in the house of Nand (as Krishna),
ਤੁ ਸਾਕੰ ਭਰੀ ਸਾਕ ਸੋ ਤਨ ਭਰੈਗੀ ॥੧੪॥
tu saakan bharee saak so tan bharaigee |14|
Because you were brimful with Faculty.(14)
ਤੁ ਬੌਧਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਮਛ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
tu bauadhaa tuhee machh ko roop kai hai |
ਤੁਹੀ ਕਛ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਹਿ ਮਥੈ ਹੈ ॥
tuhee kachh hvai hai samundreh mathai hai |
ਤੁਹੀ ਆਪੁ ਦਿਜ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਧਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
tuhee aap dij raam ko roop dhar hai |
ਨਿਛਤ੍ਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਿਥੀ ਬਾਰ ਇਕੀਸ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥
nichhatraa prithee baar ikees kar hai |15|
ਤੁਹੀ ਆਪ ਕੌ ਨਿਹਕਲੰਕੀ ਬਨੈ ਹੈ ॥
tuhee aap kau nihakalankee banai hai |
You, incarnating as Nihaqlanki (Kalki),
ਸਭੈ ਹੀ ਮਲੇਛਾਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਸ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
sabhai hee malechhaan ko naas kai hai |
Shattered the outcastes.
ਮਾਇਯਾ ਜਾਨ ਚੇਰੋ ਮਯਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
maaeiyaa jaan chero mayaa mohi keejai |
O my matriarch, endow me with your benevolence,
ਚਹੌ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਜੋ ਵਹੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧੬॥
chahau chit mai jo vahai mohi deejai |16|
And let me perform the way I elect.(l6)
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa 5 |
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਰਾਖਹੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
raakhahu apanee saran prabh mohi kirapaa dhaare |
Keep me under Your Protection, God; shower me with Your Mercy.
ਸੇਵਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਊ ਨੀਚੁ ਮੂਰਖਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
sevaa kachhoo na jaanaoo neech moorakhaare |1|
I do not know how to serve You; I am just a low-life fool. ||1||
ਮਾਨੁ ਕਰਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਊਪਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
maan krau tudh aoopare mere preetam piaare |
I take pride in You, O my Darling Beloved.
ਹਮ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਸਦ ਭੂਲਤੇ ਤੁਮੑ ਬਖਸਨਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ham aparaadhee sad bhoolate tuma bakhasanahaare |1| rahaau |
I am a sinner, continuously making mistakes; You are the Forgiving Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਹਮ ਅਵਗਨ ਕਰਹ ਅਸੰਖ ਨੀਤਿ ਤੁਮੑ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਦਾਤਾਰੇ ॥
ham avagan karah asankh neet tuma niragun daataare |
I make mistakes each and every day. You are the Great Giver;
ਦਾਸੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਏ ਕਰਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
daasee sangat prabhoo tiaag e karam hamaare |2|
I am worthless. I associate with Maya, your hand-maiden, and I renounce You, God; such are my actions. ||2||
ਤੁਮੑ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਹਮ ਅਕਿਰਤਘਨਾਰੇ ॥
tuma devahu sabh kichh deaa dhaar ham akirataghanaare |
You bless me with everything, showering me with Mercy; And I am such an ungrateful wretch!
ਲਾਗਿ ਪਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਨ ਸਿਉ ਨਹ ਚਿਤਿ ਖਸਮਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
laag pare tere daan siau neh chit khasamaare |3|
I am attached to Your gifts, but I do not even think of You, O my Lord and Master. ||3||
ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਭਵ ਕਾਟਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
tujh te baahar kichh nahee bhav kaattanahaare |
There is none other than You, O Lord, Destroyer of fear.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੁਰ ਲੇਹੁ ਮੁਗਧ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੪॥੩੪॥
kahu naanak saran deaal gur lehu mugadh udhaare |4|4|34|
Says Nanak, I have come to Your Sanctuary, O Merciful Guru; I am so foolish - please, save me! ||4||4||34||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa 5 |
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਦੀਜੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
dos na kaahoo deejeeai prabh apanaa dhiaaeeai |
Don't blame anyone else; meditate on your God.
ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਘਨਾ ਮਨ ਸੋਈ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
jit seviai sukh hoe ghanaa man soee gaaeeai |1|
Serving Him, great peace is obtained; O mind, sing His Praises. ||1||
ਕਹੀਐ ਕਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤੁਝੁ ਬਿਨਾ ॥
kaheeai kaae piaare tujh binaa |
O Beloved, other than You, who else should I ask?
ਤੁਮੑ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਅਵਗਨ ਹਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tuma deaal suaamee sabh avagan hamaa |1| rahaau |
You are my Merciful Lord and Master; I am filled with all faults. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਤੁਮੑ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਹਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਚਾਰਾ ॥
jiau tuma raakhahu tiau rahaa avar nahee chaaraa |
As You keep me, I remain; there is no other way.
ਨੀਧਰਿਆ ਧਰ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
needhariaa dhar tereea ik naam adhaaraa |2|
You are the Support of the unsupported; You Name is my only Support. ||2||
ਜੋ ਤੁਮੑ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਭਲਾ ਮਨਿ ਲੇਤਾ ਮੁਕਤਾ ॥
jo tuma karahu soee bhalaa man letaa mukataa |
One who accepts whatever You do as good - that mind is liberated.
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥੩॥
sagal samagree tereea sabh teree jugataa |3|
The entire creation is Yours; all are subject to Your Ways. ||3||
ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਰਉ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
charan pakhaarau kar sevaa je tthaakur bhaavai |
I wash Your Feet and serve You, if it pleases You, O Lord and Master.
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੫॥੩੫॥
hohu kripaal deaal prabh naanak gun gaavai |4|5|35|
Be Merciful, O God of Compassion, that Nanak may sing Your Glorious Praises. ||4||5||35||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa 5 |
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਮਿਰਤੁ ਹਸੈ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰੇ ਪਸੂਆ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝੈ ॥
mirat hasai sir aoopare pasooaa nahee boojhai |
Death hovers over his head, laughing, but the beast does not understand.
ਬਾਦ ਸਾਦ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਮਰਣਾ ਨਹੀ ਸੂਝੈ ॥੧॥
baad saad ahankaar meh maranaa nahee soojhai |1|
Entangled in conflict, pleasure and egotism, he does not even think of death. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਕਾਹੇ ਫਿਰਹੁ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥
satigur sevahu aapanaa kaahe firahu abhaage |
So serve your True Guru; why wander around miserable and unfortunate?
ਦੇਖਿ ਕਸੁੰਭਾ ਰੰਗੁਲਾ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dekh kasunbhaa rangulaa kaahe bhool laage |1| rahaau |
You gaze upon the transitory, beautiful safflower, but why do you get attached to it? ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਪ ਦਰਬੁ ਕੀਆ ਵਰਤਣ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥
kar kar paap darab keea varatan kai taaee |
You commit sins again and again, to gather wealth to spend.
ਮਾਟੀ ਸਿਉ ਮਾਟੀ ਰਲੀ ਨਾਗਾ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
maattee siau maattee ralee naagaa utth jaaee |2|
But your dust shall mix with dust; you shall arise and depart naked. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੀਐ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਰੈ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ਬਿਰੋਧੀ ॥
jaa kai keeai sram karai te bair birodhee |
Those for whom you work, will become your spiteful enemies.
ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲਿ ਭਜਿ ਜਾਹਿਗੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਜਲਹੁ ਕਰੋਧੀ ॥੩॥
ant kaal bhaj jaahige kaahe jalahu karodhee |3|
In the end, they will run away from you; why do you burn for them in anger? ||3||
ਦਾਸ ਰੇਣੁ ਸੋਈ ਹੋਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
daas ren soee hoaa jis masatak karamaa |
He alone becomes the dust of the Lord's slaves, who has such good karma upon his forehead.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੩੬॥
kahu naanak bandhan chhutte satigur kee saranaa |4|6|36|
Says Nanak, he is released from bondage, in the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||4||6||36||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਪਿੰਗੁਲ ਪਰਬਤ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਖਲ ਚਤੁਰ ਬਕੀਤਾ ॥
pingul parabat paar pare khal chatur bakeetaa |
The cripple crosses over the mountain, the fool becomes a wise man,
ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸੂਝਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਿ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ॥੧॥
andhule tribhavan soojhiaa gur bhett puneetaa |1|
and the blind man sees the three worlds, by meeting with the True Guru and being purified. ||1||
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗ ਕੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
mahimaa saadhoo sang kee sunahu mere meetaa |
This is the Glory of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; listen, O my friends.
ਮੈਲੁ ਖੋਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਘ ਹਰੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਭਏ ਚੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mail khoee kott agh hare niramal bhe cheetaa |1| rahaau |
Filth is washed away, millions of sins are dispelled, and the consciousness becomes immaculate and pure. ||1||Pause||
ਐਸੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਕੀਟਿ ਹਸਤੀ ਜੀਤਾ ॥
aisee bhagat govind kee keett hasatee jeetaa |
Such is devotional worship of the Lord of the Universe, that the ant can overpower the elephant.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕੀਨੋ ਆਪਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੀਤਾ ॥੨॥
jo jo keeno aapano tis abhai daan deetaa |2|
Whoever the Lord makes His own, is blessed with the gift of fearlessness. ||2||
ਸਿੰਘੁ ਬਿਲਾਈ ਹੋਇ ਗਇਓ ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਮੇਰੁ ਦਿਖੀਤਾ ॥
singh bilaaee hoe geo trin mer dikheetaa |
The lion becomes a cat, and the mountain looks like a blade of grass.
ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਦਮ ਆਢ ਕਉ ਤੇ ਗਨੀ ਧਨੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
sram karate dam aadt kau te ganee dhaneetaa |3|
Those who worked for half a shell, will be judged very wealthy. ||3||
ਕਵਨ ਵਡਾਈ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਉ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਨੀਤਾ ॥
kavan vaddaaee keh skau beant guneetaa |
What glorious greatness of Yours can I describe, O Lord of infinite excellences?
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਰੀਤਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੩੭॥
kar kirapaa mohi naam dehu naanak daras reetaa |4|7|37|
Please bless me with Your Mercy, and grant me Your Name; O Nanak, I am lost without the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||4||7||37||
