Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the noose of death is cut away. ||1||

Enshrine such love, O my mind,

that twenty-four hours a day, God will seem near to you. ||1||Pause||

I sleep in peace; peaceful poise has come to my home. ||1||Pause||
ਰਜਿ ਰਜਿ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਖਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥

Eat to your fill, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥
amrit naam rid maeh dhiaaee |1|
Meditate on the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, within your heart. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥
naanak gur poore saranaaee |
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru,
ਜਿਨਿ ਅਪਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੨॥੮॥੨੬॥
jin apane naam kee paij rakhaaee |2|8|26|
who has preserved the honor of His Name. ||2||8||26||

The True Guru has protected my hearth and home, and made them permanent. ||Pause||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਇਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਨ ਕੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਹੀ ਮਾਰੈ ਕਰਤਾਰ ॥੧॥
jo jo nind karai in grihan kee tis aagai hee maarai karataar |1|
Whoever slanders these homes, is pre-destined by the Creator Lord to be destroyed. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਈ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਖੰਡ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੨॥੯॥੨੭॥
naanak daas taa kee saranaaee jaa ko sabad akhandd apaar |2|9|27|
Slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God; the Word of His Shabad is unbreakable and infinite. ||2||9||27||

The fever and sickness are gone, and the diseases are all dispelled.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਤੂ ਬਖਸਿਆ ਸੰਤਨ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarabraham too bakhasiaa santan ras bhog | rahaau |
The Supreme Lord God has forgiven you, so enjoy the happiness of the Saints. ||Pause||
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਆਰੋਗ ॥
sarab sukhaa teree manddalee teraa man tan aarog |
All joys have entered your world, and your mind and body are free of disease.
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਅਵਖਦ ਜੋਗ ॥੧॥
gun gaavahu nit raam ke ih avakhad jog |1|
So chant continuously the Glorious Praises of the Lord; this is the only potent medicine. ||1||
ਆਇ ਬਸਹੁ ਘਰ ਦੇਸ ਮਹਿ ਇਹ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥
aae basahu ghar des meh ih bhale sanjog |
So come, and dwell in your home and native land; this is such a blessed and auspicious occasion.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਲਹਿ ਗਏ ਬਿਓਗ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੨੮॥

O Nanak, God is totally pleased with you; your time of separation has come to an end. ||2||10||28||

ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਖਿਆਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aootth sidhaare chhatrapat santan kai khiaal | rahaau |
Even kings and rulers must arise and depart, according to the wisdom of the Saints. ||Pause||
ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਕਉ ਬਿਨਸਨਾ ਇਹ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਢਾਲ ॥
ahanbudh kau binasanaa ih dhur kee dtaal |
Pride goes before the fall - this is a primal law.
ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥੧॥
bahu jonee janameh mareh bikhiaa bikaraal |1|
Those who practice corruption and sin, are born into countless incarnations, only to die again. ||1||

Meditating, meditating in remembrance, O Nanak, those who are imbued with the color of the Lord's Love are carried across. ||2||11||29||

The Perfect Guru has blessed me with celestial Samaadhi, bliss and peace.
ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗੁਣ ਚੀਨ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sadaa sahaaee sang prabh amrit gun cheen | rahaau |
God is always my Helper and Companion; I contemplate His Ambrosial Virtues. ||Pause||
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਜਗਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਆ ॥
jai jai kaar jagatr meh locheh sabh jeea |
Triumphant cheers greet me all across the world, and all beings yearn for me.
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥
suprasan bhe satigur prabhoo kachh bighan na theea |1|
The True Guru and God are totally pleased with me; no obstacle blocks my way. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦਾਸ ॥
jaa kaa ang deaal prabh taa ke sabh daas |
One who has the Merciful Lord God on his side - everyone becomes his slave.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੩੦॥
sadaa sadaa vaddiaaeea naanak gur paas |2|12|30|
Forever and ever, O Nanak, glorious greatness rests with the Guru. ||2||12||30||
