ਹੋ ਸਕਲ ਤੁਪਕ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਚਤੁਰ ਜੀਅ ਜਾਨੀਐ ॥੧੨੬੬॥

Saying firstly the word “Amartesh”, add the word “Pati” three times and then uttering the word “shatru” at the end and in this way, now al the names of Tupak in your mind.1266.
ਮਧੁ ਪਦ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਨੀਕੇ ਭਾਖੀਐ ॥

Body, mind, wealth and everything, I surrender to my Lord.
ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਮਤਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੧॥
kavan su mat jit har har japanaa |1|
What is that wisdom, by which I may come to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har? ||1||
ਕਰਿ ਆਸਾ ਆਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਗਨਿ ॥
kar aasaa aaeo prabh maagan |
Nurturing hope, I have come to beg from God.
ਤੁਮੑ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੋਭਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਆਗਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tuma pekhat sobhaa merai aagan |1| rahaau |
Gazing upon You, the courtyard of my heart is embellished. ||1||Pause||
ਅਨਿਕ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਉ ॥
anik jugat kar bahut beechaarau |
Trying several methods, I reflect deeply upon the Lord.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਇਸੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਉਧਾਰਉ ॥੨॥
saadhasang is maneh udhaarau |2|
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, this mind is saved. ||2||
ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
mat budh surat naahee chaturaaee |
I have neither intelligence, wisdom, common sense nor cleverness.
ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੩॥
taa mileeai jaa le milaaee |3|
I meet You, only if You lead me to meet You. ||3||
ਨੈਨ ਸੰਤੋਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
nain santokhe prabh darasan paaeaa |
My eyes are content, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of God's Darshan.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਫਲੁ ਸੋ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੯॥
kahu naanak safal so aaeaa |4|4|9|
Says Nanak, such a life is fruitful and rewarding. ||4||4||9||

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ॥

Mother, father, children and the wealth of Maya, will not go along with you.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਭੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
saadhasang sabh dookh mittaaeaa |1|
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all pain is dispelled. ||1||
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਆਪੇ ॥
rav rahiaa prabh sabh meh aape |
God Himself is pervading, and permeating all.
ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har jap rasanaa dukh na viaape |1| rahaau |
Chant the Name of the Lord with your tongue, and pain will not afflict you. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਖਾ ਭੂਖ ਬਹੁ ਤਪਤਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ॥
tikhaa bhookh bahu tapat viaapiaa |
One who is afflicted by the terrible fire of thirst and desire,
ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਜਾਪਿਆ ॥੨॥
seetal bhe har har jas jaapiaa |2|
becomes cool, chanting the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਤਨ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
kott jatan santokh na paaeaa |
By millions of efforts, peace is not obtained;
ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
man tripataanaa har gun gaaeaa |3|
the mind is satisfied only by singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||
ਦੇਹੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
dehu bhagat prabh antarajaamee |
Please bless me with devotion, O God, O Searcher of hearts.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੦॥
naanak kee benantee suaamee |4|5|10|
This is Nanak's prayer, O Lord and Master. ||4||5||10||

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥
mil saadhoo har naam dhiaaeeai |1|
Meeting with the Holy Saints, meditate on the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
paarabraham prabh teree saranaa |
O Supreme Lord God, I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੈ ਭਜੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kilabikh kaattai bhaj gur ke charanaa |1| rahaau |
Meditating on the Guru's Feet, sinful mistakes are erased. ||1||Pause||
ਅਵਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰ ॥
avar karam sabh lokaachaar |
All other rituals are just worldly affairs;
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੨॥
mil saadhoo sang hoe udhaar |2|
joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one is saved. ||2||
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
sinmrit saasat bed beechaare |
One may contemplate the Simritees, Shaastras and Vedas,
ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
japeeai naam jit paar utaare |3|
but only by chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is one saved and carried across. ||3||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੀਐ ॥
jan naanak kau prabh kirapaa kareeai |
Have Mercy upon servant Nanak, O God,
ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਸਤਰੀਐ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੧॥
saadhoo dhoor milai nisatareeai |4|6|11|
and bless him with the dust of the feet of the Holy, that he may be emancipated. ||4||6||11||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਚੀਨਾ ॥
gur kaa sabad ride meh cheenaa |
I contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad within my heart;
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
sagal manorath pooran aaseenaa |1|
all my hopes and desires are fulfilled. ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲੁ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
sant janaa kaa mukh aoojal keenaa |
The faces of the humble Saints are radiant and bright;
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa apunaa naam deenaa |1| rahaau |
the Lord has mercifully blessed them with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
andh koop te kar geh leenaa |
Holding them by the hand, He has lifted them up out of the deep, dark pit,
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਜਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀਨਾ ॥੨॥
jai jai kaar jagat pragatteenaa |2|
and their victory is celebrated throughout the world. ||2||
ਨੀਚਾ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਊਨ ਪੂਰੀਨਾ ॥
neechaa te aooch aoon pooreenaa |
He elevates and exalts the lowly, and fills the empty.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੩॥
amrit naam mahaa ras leenaa |3|
They receive the supreme, sublime essence of the Ambrosial Naam. ||3||
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪਾਪ ਜਲਿ ਖੀਨਾ ॥
man tan niramal paap jal kheenaa |
The mind and body are made immaculate and pure, and sins are burnt to ashes.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਸੀਨਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੨॥
kahu naanak prabh bhe praseenaa |4|7|12|
Says Nanak, God is pleased with me. ||4||7||12||

ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਮੀਤਾ ॥

All desires are fulfilled, O my friend,
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਈਐ ਚੀਤਾ ॥੧॥
charan kamal siau laaeeai cheetaa |1|
lovingly centering your consciousness on the Lord's Lotus Feet. ||1||
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਵਤ ॥
hau balihaaree jo prabhoo dhiaavat |
I am a sacrifice to those who meditate on God.
ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jalan bujhai har har gun gaavat |1| rahaau |
The fire of desire is quenched, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੋਵਤ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
safal janam hovat vaddabhaagee |
One's life become fruitful and rewarding, by great good fortune.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੨॥
saadhasang raameh liv laagee |2|
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, enshrine love for the Lord. ||2||
ਮਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦਾ ॥
mat pat dhan sukh sehaj anandaa |
Wisdom, honor, wealth, peace and celestial bliss are attained,
ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਹੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥੩॥
eik nimakh na visarahu paramaanandaa |3|
If one does not forget the Lord of supreme bliss, even for an instant. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਸ ਘਨੇਰੀ ॥
har darasan kee man piaas ghaneree |
My mind is so very thirsty for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੩॥
bhanat naanak saran prabh teree |4|8|13|
Prays Nanak, O God, I seek Your Sanctuary. ||4||8||13||
