Her unblemished beauty was the king of all the kings.324.
ਜਲ ਕੀ ਭੀਤਿ ਪਵਨ ਕਾ ਥੰਭਾ ਰਕਤ ਬੁੰਦ ਕਾ ਗਾਰਾ ॥
jal kee bheet pavan kaa thanbhaa rakat bund kaa gaaraa |
The body is a wall of water, supported by the pillars of air; the egg and sperm are the mortar.
ਹਾਡ ਮਾਸ ਨਾੜਂੀ ਕੋ ਪਿੰਜਰੁ ਪੰਖੀ ਬਸੈ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
haadd maas naarranee ko pinjar pankhee basai bichaaraa |1|
The framework is made up of bones, flesh and veins; the poor soul-bird dwells within it. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਕਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
praanee kiaa meraa kiaa teraa |
O mortal, what is mine, and what is yours?
ਜੈਸੇ ਤਰਵਰ ਪੰਖਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The soul is like a bird perched upon a tree. ||1||Pause||
ਰਾਖਹੁ ਕੰਧ ਉਸਾਰਹੁ ਨੀਵਾਂ ॥
raakhahu kandh usaarahu neevaan |
You lay the foundation and build the walls.
ਸਾਢੇ ਤੀਨਿ ਹਾਥ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੀਵਾਂ ॥੨॥
saadte teen haath teree seevaan |2|
But in the end, three and a half cubits will be your measured space. ||2||
ਬੰਕੇ ਬਾਲ ਪਾਗ ਸਿਰਿ ਡੇਰੀ ॥
banke baal paag sir dderee |
You make your hair beautiful, and wear a stylish turban on your head.
ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇਗੋ ਭਸਮ ਕੀ ਢੇਰੀ ॥੩॥
eihu tan hoeigo bhasam kee dteree |3|
But in the end, this body shall be reduced to a pile of ashes. ||3||
ਊਚੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
aooche mandar sundar naaree |
Your palaces are lofty, and your brides are beautiful.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
raam naam bin baajee haaree |4|
But without the Lord's Name, you shall lose the game entirely. ||4||
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਕਮੀਨੀ ਪਾਂਤਿ ਕਮੀਨੀ ਓਛਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
meree jaat kameenee paant kameenee ochhaa janam hamaaraa |
My social status is low, my ancestry is low, and my life is wretched.
ਤੁਮ ਸਰਨਾਗਤਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦ ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਚਮਾਰਾ ॥੫॥੬॥

I have come to Your Sanctuary, O Luminous Lord, my King; so says Ravi Daas, the shoemaker. ||5||6||
ਚਮਰਟਾ ਗਾਂਠਿ ਨ ਜਨਈ ॥

I am a shoemaker, but I do not know how to mend shoes.
ਲੋਗੁ ਗਠਾਵੈ ਪਨਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

People come to me to mend their shoes. ||1||Pause||
ਆਰ ਨਹੀ ਜਿਹ ਤੋਪਉ ॥
aar nahee jih topau |
I have no awl to stitch them;
ਨਹੀ ਰਾਂਬੀ ਠਾਉ ਰੋਪਉ ॥੧॥
nahee raanbee tthaau ropau |1|
I have no knife to patch them. ||1||
ਲੋਗੁ ਗੰਠਿ ਗੰਠਿ ਖਰਾ ਬਿਗੂਚਾ ॥
log gantth gantth kharaa bigoochaa |
Mending, mending, people waste their lives and ruin themselves.
ਹਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਾਂਠੇ ਜਾਇ ਪਹੂਚਾ ॥੨॥
hau bin gaantthe jaae pahoochaa |2|
Without wasting my time mending, I have found the Lord. ||2||
ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਜਪੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar satigur prasaad |
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਨੈਨਹੁ ਨੀਰੁ ਬਹੈ ਤਨੁ ਖੀਨਾ ਭਏ ਕੇਸ ਦੁਧ ਵਾਨੀ ॥
nainahu neer bahai tan kheenaa bhe kes dudh vaanee |
Tears well up in my eyes, my body has become weak, and my hair has become milky-white.
ਰੂਧਾ ਕੰਠੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਹੀ ਉਚਰੈ ਅਬ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
roodhaa kantth sabad nahee ucharai ab kiaa kareh paraanee |1|
My throat is tight, and I cannot utter even one word; what can I do now? I am a mere mortal. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਹੋਹਿ ਬੈਦ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
raam raae hohi baid banavaaree |
O Lord, my King, Gardener of the world-garden, be my Physician,
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੰਤਹ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
apane santah lehu ubaaree |1| rahaau |
and save me, Your Saint. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਥੇ ਪੀਰ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਜਲਨਿ ਹੈ ਕਰਕ ਕਰੇਜੇ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
maathe peer sareer jalan hai karak kareje maahee |
My head aches, my body is burning, and my heart is filled with anguish.
ਐਸੀ ਬੇਦਨ ਉਪਜਿ ਖਰੀ ਭਈ ਵਾ ਕਾ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
aisee bedan upaj kharee bhee vaa kaa aaukhadh naahee |2|
Such is the disease that has struck me; there is no medicine to cure it. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਇਹੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਸਾਰਾ ॥
har kaa naam amrit jal niramal ihu aaukhadh jag saaraa |
The Name of the Lord, the ambrosial, immaculate water, is the best medicine in the world.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਹੈ ਜਨੁ ਭੀਖਨੁ ਪਾਵਉ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੩॥੧॥
gur parasaad kahai jan bheekhan paavau mokh duaaraa |3|1|
By Guru's Grace, says servant Bheekhan, I have found the Door of Salvation. ||3||1||
ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
aisaa naam ratan niramolak pun padaarath paaeaa |
Such is the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the invaluable jewel, the most sublime wealth, which I have found through good deeds.
ਅਨਿਕ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਰਤਨੁ ਨ ਛਪੈ ਛਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
anik jatan kar hiradai raakhiaa ratan na chhapai chhapaaeaa |1|
By various efforts, I have enshrined it within my heart; this jewel cannot be hidden by hiding it. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਹਤੇ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
har gun kahate kehan na jaaee |
The Glorious Praises of the Lord cannot be spoken by speaking.
ਜੈਸੇ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਕੀ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaise goonge kee mitthiaaee |1| rahaau |
They are like the sweet candies given to a mute. ||1||Pause||
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਮਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਾ ਚਿਤ ਚੇਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
rasanaa ramat sunat sukh sravanaa chit chete sukh hoee |
The tongue speaks, the ears listen, and the mind contemplates the Lord; they find peace and comfort.
ਕਹੁ ਭੀਖਨ ਦੁਇ ਨੈਨ ਸੰਤੋਖੇ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾਂ ਤਹ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੨॥
kahu bheekhan due nain santokhe jeh dekhaan teh soee |2|2|
Says Bheekhan, my eyes are content; wherever I look, there I see the Lord. ||2||2||
