The age the truth was established again and all the new creation appeared
ਸਬ ਦੇਸ ਅਉਰ ਬਿਦੇਸ ॥

ਉਠਿ ਧਰਮ ਲਾਗਿ ਨਰੇਸ ॥੧॥

The kings of all the countries because religious.1.
ਕਲਿ ਕਾਲ ਕੋਪਿ ਕਰਾਲ ॥

ਜਗੁ ਜਾਰਿਆ ਤਿਹ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ॥
jag jaariaa tih jvaal |
O the Lord of breadful fury! there is none else except thee,
ਬਿਨੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਔਰ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
bin taas aauar na koee |
ਸਬ ਜਾਪ ਜਾਪੋ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
sab jaap jaapo soe |2|
Who created the Iron Age and its fires burning the word, everyone should repeat His Name.2.
ਜੇ ਜਾਪ ਹੈ ਕਲਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
je jaap hai kal naam |
ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੁਇ ਹੈ ਕਾਮ ॥
tis pooran hue hai kaam |
Those who will remember the Name of the Lord in the Iron Age, all their tasks will be fulfilled
ਤਿਸੁ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
tis dookh bhookh na piaas |
ਨਿਤਿ ਹਰਖੁ ਕਹੂੰ ਨ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੩॥
nit harakh kahoon na udaas |3|
They will never experience suffering, hunger and anxiety and will always remain happy.3.
ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
bin ek doosar naeh |
ਸਭ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
sabh rang roopan maeh |
There is none else except the One Lord pervanding all the colours and forms
ਜਿਨ ਜਾਪਿਆ ਤਿਹਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
jin jaapiaa tihi jaap |
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਈ ਆਪ ॥੪॥
tin ke sahaaee aap |4|
He helps those who repeat His Name.4.
ਜੇ ਤਾਸੁ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੰਤ ॥
je taas naam japant |
ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਭਾਜਿ ਚਲੰਤ ॥
kabahoon na bhaaj chalant |
Those who remember His Name, never run away
ਨਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਸੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਸਤ੍ਰ ॥
neh traas taa ko satr |
ਦਿਸਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਗਹਿ ਅਤ੍ਰ ॥੫॥
dis jeet hai geh atr |5|
They do not fear the enemies and wearing their arms and weapons, they conquer all the direction.5.
ਤਿਹ ਭਰੇ ਧਨ ਸੋ ਧਾਮ ॥
tih bhare dhan so dhaam |
ਸਭ ਹੋਹਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥
sabh hohi pooran kaam |
Their houses are filled with wealth and all their tasks are fulfilled
ਜੇ ਏਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੰਤ ॥
je ek naam japant |
ਨਾਹਿ ਕਾਲ ਫਾਸਿ ਫਸੰਤ ॥੬॥
naeh kaal faas fasant |6|
Those who remember the Name of one Lord, they are not entrapped in the noose of death.6.
ਜੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
je jeev jant anek |
ਤਿਨ ਮੋ ਰਹ︀ਯੋ ਰਮਿ ਏਕ ॥
tin mo rehayo ram ek |
ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
bin ek doosar naeh |
ਜਗਿ ਜਾਨਿ ਲੈ ਜੀਅ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੭॥
jag jaan lai jeea maeh |7|
That One Lord is pervading all the created beings and the whole world should know that there is none else except Him.7.
ਭਵ ਗੜਨ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਾਰ ॥
bhav garran bhanjan haar |
ਹੈ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਕਰਤਾਰ ॥
hai ek hee karataar |
ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
bin ek aaur na koe |
ਸਬ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗੀ ਸੋਇ ॥੮॥
sab roop rangee soe |8|
The One Lord is the creator as well as the Destroyer of the whole world and there is one other in all the colours and forms.8.
ਕਈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਪਾਨਪਹਾਰ ॥

ਕਈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੇਦ ਉਚਾਰ ॥
kee braham bed uchaar |
ਕਈ ਬੈਠਿ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਮਹੇਸ ॥

ਕਈ ਸੇਸਨਾਗ ਅਸੇਸ ॥੯॥

Many indras are in His service, many Brahmas recite the Vedas, many Shivas sit at His Gate and many Sheshnagas remain present in order to become His bed.9.
ਕਈ ਸੂਰ ਚੰਦ ਸਰੂਪ ॥
kee soor chand saroop |
ਕਈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੀ ਸਮ ਭੂਪ ॥
kee indr kee sam bhoop |
ਕਈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਉਪਿੰਦ੍ਰ ਮੁਨਿੰਦ੍ਰ ॥

ਕਈ ਮਛ ਕਛ ਫਨਿੰਦ੍ਰ ॥੧੦॥

Many kings like Surya, Chandra and Indra and many Indras, upendras, great sages, the Fish incarnation, the Tortoise incarnation and sheshnagas remain ever present before Him.10.
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥

Many Krishna and Rama incarnation sweep His Door many Fish and Tortoise incarnations are seen standing at His special gate.11.
ਕਈ ਸੁਕ੍ਰ ਬ੍ਰਸਪਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ॥
kee sukr brasapat dekh |
ਕਈ ਦਤ ਗੋਰਖ ਭੇਖ ॥
kee dat gorakh bhekh |
ਕਈ ਰਾਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਰਸੂਲ ॥
kee raam krisan rasool |
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਬੂਲ ॥੧੨॥
bin naam ko na kabool |12|
There are many Shukras, Brahaspatis, Datts, Gorakhs, Rama Krishnas, Rasult ect, but none is acceptable at His gate wightout the remembrance of His Name.12.
ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕੁ ਆਸ੍ਰੈ ਨਾਮ ॥
bin ek aasrai naam |
ਨਹੀ ਔਰ ਕੌਨੈ ਕਾਮ ॥
nahee aauar kauanai kaam |
No other work is appropriate except the support of the one Name
ਜੇ ਮਾਨਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
je maan hai guradev |
ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿ ਹੈ ਅਨਭੇਵ ॥੧੩॥
te jaan hai anabhev |13|
Those who will believe in the one Guru-Lord, they will only comprehend His myself.13.
ਬਿਨੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਔਰ ਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
bin taas aauar na jaan |
ਚਿਤ ਆਨ ਭਾਵ ਨ ਆਨੁ ॥
chit aan bhaav na aan |
We should not know anyone else except Him and none other should be kept in mind
ਇਕ ਮਾਨਿ ਜੈ ਕਰਤਾਰ ॥
eik maan jai karataar |
ਜਿਤੁ ਹੋਇ ਅੰਤਿ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥੧੪॥
jit hoe ant udhaar |14|
Only one Lord should be worshipped, so that we may be redeemed at the end.14.
ਬਿਨੁ ਤਾਸ ਯੌ ਨ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
bin taas yau na udhaar |
ਜੀਅ ਦੇਖਿ ਯਾਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ॥
jeea dekh yaar bichaar |
O being! You may consider that without Him you cannot be redeemed
ਜੋ ਜਾਪਿ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਔਰ ॥
jo jaap hai koee aauar |
ਤਬ ਛੂਟਿ ਹੈ ਵਹ ਠੌਰ ॥੧੫॥
tab chhoott hai veh tthauar |15|
If you adore anyone else, then you will get away from that Lord.15.
ਜਿਹ ਰਾਗ ਰੰਗ ਨ ਰੂਪ ॥
jih raag rang na roop |
ਸੋ ਮਾਨੀਐ ਸਮ ਰੂਪ ॥
so maaneeai sam roop |
Only that Lord should be adored consistently, who is beyond attachment, colours and form
ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਤਾ ਕਰ ਨਾਮ ॥
bin ek taa kar naam |
ਨਹਿ ਜਾਨ ਦੂਸਰ ਧਾਮ ॥੧੬॥
neh jaan doosar dhaam |16|
None other except the One Lord should be kept in view .16.
ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਅਲੋਕ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
jo lok alok banaae |
ਫਿਰ ਲੇਤ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
fir let aap milaae |
ਜੋ ਚਹੈ ਦੇਹ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
jo chahai deh udhaar |
ਸੋ ਭਜਨ ਏਕੰਕਾਰ ॥੧੭॥
so bhajan ekankaar |17|
He who creates this and the next word and merges them within himself, if you want the salvation of your body, then worship only that One Lord.17.
ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਚਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ॥
jin raachiyo brahamandd |
ਸਬ ਲੋਕ ਔ ਨਵ ਖੰਡ ॥
sab lok aau nav khandd |
ਤਿਹ ਕਿਉ ਨ ਜਾਪ ਜਪੰਤ ॥
tih kiau na jaap japant |
ਕਿਮ ਜਾਨ ਕੂਪਿ ਪਰੰਤ ॥੧੮॥
kim jaan koop parant |18|
He who has created the nine regions, all the worlds and the universe, why do you not meditate on him and how do you fall in the well deliberately? 18.
ਜੜ ਜਾਪ ਤਾ ਕਰ ਜਾਪ ॥
jarr jaap taa kar jaap |
ਜਿਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਚਉਦਹੰ ਥਾਪ ॥
jin lok chaudahan thaap |
O foolish being! you should adore Him who was established all the fourteen worlds
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਪੀਐ ਨਿਤ ਨਾਮ ॥
tis jaapeeai nit naam |
ਸਭ ਹੋਹਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੧੯॥
sabh hohi pooran kaam |19|
With His meditation all the wishes are fulfilled.19.
ਗਨਿ ਚਉਬਿਸੈ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
gan chaubisai avataar |
ਬਹੁ ਕੈ ਕਹੇ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
bahu kai kahe bisathaar |
ਅਬ ਗਨੋ ਉਪ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
ab gano up avataar |
ਜਿਮਿ ਧਰੇ ਰੂਪ ਮੁਰਾਰ ॥੨੦॥
jim dhare roop muraar |20|
All the twenty-four incarnations have been enumerated in detail and now I am going to enumerate the smaller incarnations how the Lord assumed the other forms.20.
ਜੇ ਧਰੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਰੂਪ ॥
je dhare brahamaa roop |
ਤੇ ਕਹੋਂ ਕਾਬਿ ਅਨੂਪ ॥
te kahon kaab anoop |
ਜੇ ਧਰੇ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
je dhare rudr avataar |
ਅਬ ਕਹੋਂ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੨੧॥
ab kahon taeh bichaar |21|
Those forms which Brahma assumed, I have narrated them in poetry and not after reflection, I narrated the incarnation of Rudra (Shiva).21.
ਕਲਿ ਤਾਸੁ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੀਨ ॥
kal taas aagiaa deen |
ਤਬ ਬੇਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕੀਨ ॥
tab bed brahamaa keen |
When the Lord commended, then Brahma preprared the Vedas
ਤਬ ਤਾਸੁ ਬਾਢ︀ਯੋ ਗਰਬ ॥
tab taas baadtayo garab |
ਸਰਿ ਆਪੁ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਸਰਬ ॥੨੨॥
sar aap jaan na sarab |22|
At that time his pride was increased and he did not consider anyone else like himself.22.
ਸਰਿ ਮੋਹ ਕਬਿ ਨਹਿ ਕੋਇ ॥
sar moh kab neh koe |
ਇਕ ਆਪ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਹੋਇ ॥
eik aap hoe ta hoe |
He thought that there was none other like him and there was no other poet like him
ਕਛੁ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਭੂਅ ਬਕ੍ਰ ॥
kachh kaal kee bhooa bakr |
ਛਿਤਿ ਡਾਰੀਆ ਜਿਮ ਸਕ੍ਰ ॥੨੩॥
chhit ddaareea jim sakr |23|
On the Lord-God because unhappay and threw him on the ground like the Vajra of Indra.23.
ਜਬ ਗਿਰ︀ਯੋ ਭੂ ਤਰਿ ਆਨਿ ॥
jab girayo bhoo tar aan |
ਮੁਖ ਚਾਰ ਬੇਦ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
mukh chaar bed nidhaan |
When Brahma, the ocean of four Vedas fell upon the earth,
ਉਠਿ ਲਾਗਿਆ ਫਿਰ ਸੇਵ ॥
autth laagiaa fir sev |
ਜੀਅ ਜਾਨਿ ਦੇਵਿ ਅਭੇਵ ॥੨੪॥
jeea jaan dev abhev |24|
He began to worship with the fullness of his heart the mysterious Lord, who is beyond the ken of gods.24.
ਦਸ ਲਖ ਬਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥
das lakh barakh pramaan |
ਕੀਅ ਦੇਵਿ ਸੇਵ ਮਹਾਨ ॥
keea dev sev mahaan |
ਕਿਮਿ ਹੋਇ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
kim hoe mohi udhaar |
ਅਸ ਦੇਹੁ ਦੇਵ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੨੫॥
as dehu dev bichaar |25|
He worshipped the Lord for ten Lakh years and he to the Lord of gods to redeem him in any in any way.25.
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਤੁ ਸਾਰਾ ॥
khojat khojat khoj beechaario raam naam tat saaraa |
I have searched and searched and searched, and found that the Lord's Name is the most sublime reality.
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਿਮਖ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
kilabikh kaatte nimakh araadhiaa guramukh paar utaaraa |1|
Contemplating it for even an instant, sins are erased; the Gurmukh is carried across and saved. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਪੁਰਖ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
har ras peevahu purakh giaanee |
Drink in the sublime essence of the Lord's Name, O man of spiritual wisdom.
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਹਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sun sun mahaa tripat man paavai saadhoo amrit baanee | rahaau |
Listening to the Ambrosial Words of the Holy Saints, the mind finds absolute fulfillment and satisfaction. ||Pause||
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
mukat bhugat jugat sach paaeeai sarab sukhaa kaa daataa |
Liberation, pleasures, and the true way of life are obtained from the Lord, the Giver of all peace.
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
apune daas kau bhagat daan devai pooran purakh bidhaataa |2|
The Perfect Lord, the Architect of Destiny, blesses His slave with the gift of devotional worship. ||2||
ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਰਸਨਾ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸੋਈ ॥
sravanee suneeai rasanaa gaaeeai hiradai dhiaaeeai soee |
Hear with your ears, and sing with your tongue, and meditate within your heart on Him.
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
karan kaaran samarath suaamee jaa te brithaa na koee |3|
The Lord and Master is all-powerful, the Cause of causes; without Him, there is nothing at all. ||3||
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥
vaddai bhaag ratan janam paaeaa karahu kripaa kirapaalaa |
By great good fortune, I have obtained the jewel of human life; have mercy on me, O Merciful Lord.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸਦਾ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੪॥੧੦॥
saadhasang naanak gun gaavai simarai sadaa goupaalaa |4|10|
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and contemplates Him forever in meditation. ||4||10||

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਅਰੋਗਾ ॥
kar isanaan simar prabh apanaa man tan bhe arogaa |
After taking your cleansing bath, remember your God in meditation, and your mind and body shall be free of disease.
ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਘਨ ਲਾਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗਾ ॥੧॥
kott bighan laathe prabh saranaa pragatte bhale sanjogaa |1|
Millions of obstacles are removed, in the Sanctuary of God, and good fortune dawns. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥
prabh baanee sabad subhaakhiaa |
The Word of God's Bani, and His Shabad, are the best utterances.
ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gaavahu sunahu parrahu nit bhaaee gur poorai too raakhiaa | rahaau |
So constantly sing them, listen to them, and read them, O Siblings of Destiny, and the Perfect Guru shall save you. ||Pause||
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਮਿਤਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
saachaa saahib amit vaddaaee bhagat vachhal deaalaa |
The glorious greatness of the True Lord is immeasurable; the Merciful Lord is the Lover of His devotees.
ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਆਦਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
santaa kee paij rakhadaa aaeaa aad birad pratipaalaa |2|
He has preserved the honor of His Saints; from the very beginning of time, His Nature is to cherish them. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਨਿਤ ਭੁੰਚਹੁ ਸਰਬ ਵੇਲਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
har amrit naam bhojan nit bhunchahu sarab velaa mukh paavahu |
So eat the Ambrosial Name of the Lord as your food; put it into your mouth at all times.
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਾ ਤਾਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਠਾ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥੩॥
jaraa maraa taap sabh naatthaa gun gobind nit gaavahu |3|
The pains of old age and death shall all depart, when you constantly sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ||3||
ਸੁਣੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ॥
sunee aradaas suaamee merai sarab kalaa ban aaee |
My Lord and Master has heard my prayer, and all my affairs have been resolved.
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਈ ਸਗਲੇ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥
pragatt bhee sagale jug antar gur naanak kee vaddiaaee |4|11|
The glorious greatness of Guru Nanak is manifest, throughout all the ages. ||4||11||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਏਕੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਏਕਸ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਹਾਈ ॥
ek pitaa ekas ke ham baarik too meraa gur haaee |
The One God is our father; we are the children of the One God. You are our Guru.
ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਜੀਉ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੧॥
sun meetaa jeeo hamaaraa bal bal jaasee har darasan dehu dikhaaee |1|
Listen, friends: my soul is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You; O Lord, reveal to me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||
ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਧੂਰੀ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
sun meetaa dhooree kau bal jaaee |
Listen, friends: I am a sacrifice to the dust of Your feet.
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eihu man teraa bhaaee | rahaau |
This mind is yours, O Siblings of Destiny. ||Pause||
ਪਾਵ ਮਲੋਵਾ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵਾ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਤੈ ਕੂ ਦੇਸਾ ॥
paav malovaa mal mal dhovaa ihu man tai koo desaa |
I wash your feet, I massage and clean them; I give this mind to you.
ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਹਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਆਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਉ ਦੇਹੁ ਉਪਦੇਸਾ ॥੨॥
sun meetaa hau teree saranaaee aaeaa prabh milau dehu upadesaa |2|
Listen, friends: I have come to Your Sanctuary; teach me, that I might unite with God. ||2||
ਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੀਜੈ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਮਨਾਈਐ ॥
maan na keejai saran pareejai karai su bhalaa manaaeeai |
Do not be proud; seek His Sanctuary, and accept as good all that He does.
ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪੀਜੈ ਇਉ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
sun meetaa jeeo pindd sabh tan arapeejai iau darasan har jeeo paaeeai |3|
Listen, friends: dedicate your soul, body and your whole being to Him; thus you shall receive the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||3||
ਭਇਓ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹੈ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
bheo anugrahu prasaad santan kai har naamaa hai meetthaa |
He has shown mercy to me, by the Grace of the Saints; the Lord's Name is sweet to me.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਅਕੁਲ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨॥
jan naanak kau gur kirapaa dhaaree sabh akul niranjan ddeetthaa |4|1|12|
The Guru has shown mercy to servant Nanak; I see the casteless, immaculate Lord everywhere. ||4||1||12||
