ਲੋਚਨ ਚਾਰੁ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਬਾਚਤ ਹੀ ਪਤੀਆ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਵਹੁ ॥
lochan chaar bichaar karo jin baachat hee pateea utth dhaavahu |
“O the one with charming eyes! do not be absorbed in more thoughts and come immediately after reading the letter
ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਸਿਸਪਾਲ ਇਤੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਬ︀ਯਾਹਨ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਢੀਲ ਨ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥
aavat hai sisapaal itai muhi bayaahan kau prabh dteel na laavahu |
Shishupal is coming to maryy me, therefore you should avoid even the slightest delay
ਮਾਰਿ ਇਨੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਲੋ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਵਤੀ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਜਸੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
maar inai muhi jeet prabhoo chalo dvaaravatee jag mai jas paavahu |
“Kill him and conquering me, take me to Dwarka and earn approbation in the world
ਮੋਰੀ ਦਸਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਯੌ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਕਰਿ ਪੰਖਨ ਆਵਹੁ ॥੧੯੭੫॥
moree dasaa sun kai sabh yau kab sayaam kahai kar pankhan aavahu |1975|
Hearing this plight of mine, fixing wings on your body fly towards me.”1975.
ਹੇ ਪਤਿ ਚਉਦਹਿ ਲੋਕਨ ਕੇ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਚਿਤ ਦੈ ਜੁ ਸੰਦੇਸ ਕਹੇ ਹੈ ॥

“O Lord of all the fourteen worlds! kindly listen to my message attentively
ਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੁ ਅਹੰ ਅਰੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਢਿਓ ਸਭ ਆਤਮੇ ਤੀਨ ਬਹੇ ਹੈ ॥
tere binaa su ahan ar krodh badtio sabh aatame teen bahe hai |
The ego and anger have increased in the souls of all except you
ਯੌ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਤਿਪੁਰਾਰਿ ਤੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਚਿਤ ਬਿਖੈ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਚਹੇ ਹੈ ॥

“O Lord and Destroyer of the three worlds! I never desire that which my father and brother desire
ਬਾਚਤ ਹੀ ਪਤੀਯਾ ਉਠਿ ਆਵਹੁ ਜੂ ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਬਿਖੈ ਦਿਨ ਤੀਨ ਰਹੇ ਹੈ ॥੧੯੭੬॥
baachat hee pateeyaa utth aavahu joo bayaah bikhai din teen rahe hai |1976|
Kindly come on reading this letter, because only three days remain for the marriage.”1976.

“O Brahmin! kindly tell (Krihsna) that only three days remain for the marriage and O Lord! kindly come without delay with this Brahmin.1977.

ਅਉ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਸੋ ਯੌ ਕਹੀਯੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਸਾ ਡਰੁ ਆਵੈ ॥
aau jadubeer so yau kaheeyo tumare bin dekh nisaa ddar aavai |
ਬਾਰ ਹੀ ਬਾਰ ਅਤਿ ਆਤੁਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਤਨ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜੀਅ ਮੋਰ ਪਰਾਵੈ ॥
baar hee baar at aatur hvai tan tiaag kahiyo jeea mor paraavai |
“Tell Krishna, that without him I feel frightened throughout the night and my soul, getting extremely agitated, wants to leave the body:
ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਛ ਭਯੋ ਸਸਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਅਤਿਸੈ ਕਰਿ ਤਾਵੈ ॥
praachee pratachh bhayo sas pooran so ham ko atisai kar taavai |
ਮੈਨ ਮਨੋ ਮੁਖ ਆਰੁਨ ਕੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਇ ਹਮੋ ਡਰ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧੯੭੮॥
main mano mukh aarun kai tumare bin aae hamo ddar paavai |1978|
“The moon risen in the east is burning me without you, the red face of the god of love frightens me.”1978.
ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਤੁਹਿ ਓਰਹਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਬੇਰ ਘਨੀ ਹਟ ਕੇ ॥
laag rahio tuhi oreh sayaam joo mai ih ber ghanee hatt ke |
“O Krishna! my mind turns towards you again and again inspite of restraining it and has remained entrapped in your charming memory
ਘਨਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੀ ਬੰਕ ਬਿਲੋਕਨ ਫਾਸ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਫਸੇ ਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਛੁਟਕੇ ॥
ghan sayaam kee bank bilokan faas ke sang fase su nahee chhuttake |
It does not accept the advice although I instruct it for a lakh of times
ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਮੁਰਾਏ ਮੁਰੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਤੁਹਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਹੇਰਨ ਹੀ ਅਟਕੇ ॥
nahee naik muraae murai hamare tuhi moorat heran hee attake |
“And has become immovable from your portrait
ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਜ ਕੇ ਆਜ ਭਏ ਦੋਊ ਨੈਨ ਬਟਾ ਨਟ ਕੇ ॥੧੯੭੯॥
kab sayaam bhane sang laaj ke aaj bhe doaoo nain battaa natt ke |1979|
Because of shyness both my eyes have become stable at their place like an acrobat.”1979.
ਸਾਜ ਦਯੋ ਰਥ ਬਾਮਨ ਕੋ ਬਹੁਤੈ ਧਨੁ ਦੈ ਤਿਹ ਚਿਤ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
saaj dayo rath baaman ko bahutai dhan dai tih chit badtaayo |
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਲਿਆਵਨ ਕਾਜ ਪਠਿਯੋ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਤਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
sree brijanaath liaavan kaaj patthiyo chit mai tin hoon sukh paayo |
Everyone felt comfortable after sending the Brahmin, giving him the chariot, money and incentive for bringing Krishna
ਯੌ ਸੋਊ ਲੈ ਪਤੀਯਾ ਕੋ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
yau soaoo lai pateeyaa ko chaliyo su prabandh kathaa keh sayaam sunaayo |
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਪਉਨ ਕੇ ਗਉਨ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਸੁ ਸਿਤਾਬ ਦੈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਪੈ ਆਯੋ ॥੧੯੮੦॥
maanahu paun ke gaun hoon te su sitaab dai sree jadubeer pai aayo |1980|
Taking the letter he also went with greater speed than even the speed of the wing for reaching the place of Krishna at the earliest.1980.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਬਾਸ ਜਹਾ ਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪੁਰੀ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਕੀ ॥
sree brijanaath ko baas jahaa su kahai kab sayaam puree at neekee |
ਬਜ੍ਰ ਖਚੇ ਅਰੁ ਲਾਲ ਜਵਾਹਿਰ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਮਨੀ ਕੀ ॥
bajr khache ar laal javaahir jot jagai at hee su manee kee |
The city of Krishna’s residence was extremely beautiful and on the four sides pearls, rubies and jewels were studded with glittering lights
ਕਉਨ ਸਰਾਹ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਨ ਕਹੋ ਐਸੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਕਿਸੀ ਕੀ ॥
kaun saraah karai tih kee tum hee na kaho aisee budh kisee kee |
ਸੇਸ ਨਿਸੇਸ ਜਲੇਸ ਕੀ ਅਉਰ ਸੁਰੇਸ ਪੁਰੀ ਜਿਹ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਫੀਕੀ ॥੧੯੮੧॥
ses nises jales kee aaur sures puree jih agraj feekee |1981|
The description of that city is beyond everybody’s ken, because the regions of Sheshnaga, Chandra, Varuna and Indra looked pale before the city of Dwarka.1981.

sree brijapat ko grih jahaa teh dij pahuchio jaae |1982|
Extremely pleased on seeing the city, the Brahmin reached the palace of Krishna.1982.

ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਦਿਜੋਤਮ ਠਾਢ ਭਯੋ ਉਠਿ ਆਗੇ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
dekhat hee brijanaath dijotam tthaadt bhayo utth aage bulaayo |
Seeing the Brahmin, Krishna got up and called him
ਲੈ ਦਿਜੈ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀ ਪਤੀਆ ਤਿਹ ਬਾਚਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
lai dijai aagai dharee pateea tih baachat hee prabh jee sukh paayo |
The Brahmin placed the letter before him, reading which Krishna was extremely pleased
ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਸਾਜਿ ਚੜਿਓ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸੋਊ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਯੋ ਮਨੋ ਪਉਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
sayandan saaj charrio apune soaoo sang layo mano paun hvai dhaayo |
ਮਾਨੋ ਛੁਧਾਤਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਝੁੰਡ ਤਕੈ ਉਠਿ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੧੯੮੩॥
maano chhudhaatar hoe at hee mrig jhundd takai utth kehar aayo |1983|
He mounted his chariot and moved with the swift speed of wing like a hungry lion following a herd of deer.1983.
ਇਤ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਸਾਜਿ ਚੜਿਯੋ ਉਤ ਲੈ ਸਿਸੁਪਾਲ ਘਨੋ ਦਲੁ ਆਯੋ ॥
eit sayaam joo sayandan saaj charriyo ut lai sisupaal ghano dal aayo |
On this side, Krishna went on his chariot and on the other side Shishupal reached alongwith a good deal of army
ਆਵਤ ਸੋ ਇਨ ਹੂੰ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਰ ਦ੍ਵਾਰ ਬਜਾਰ ਜੁ ਥੇ ਸੁ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥
aavat so in hoon sun kai pur dvaar bajaar ju the su banaayo |
Special gates were erected in the city and decorated on knowing about the arrival of Shishupal and Rukmi.
ਸੈਨ ਬਨਾਇ ਭਲੀ ਇਤ ਤੇ ਰੁਕਮਾਦਿਕ ਆਗੇ ਤੇ ਲੈਨ ਕਉ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
sain banaae bhalee it te rukamaadik aage te lain kau dhaayo |
And others came alongwith the army in order to welcome him
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਭਟਵਾ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੧੯੮੪॥
sayaam bhanai sabh hee bhattavaa apane man mai at hee sukh paayo |1984|
According to the poet Shyam, all the warriors were extremely pleased in their mind.1984.
ਅਉਰ ਬਡੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਆਵਤ ਭੇ ਚਤੁਰੰਗ ਚਮੂੰ ਸੁ ਘਨੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ॥
aaur badde nrip aavat bhe chaturang chamoon su ghanee sang lai ke |
ਹੇਰਨ ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਰੁਕੰਮਨਿ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਸੁ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਬਢੈ ਕੈ ॥
heran bayaah rukaman ko at hee chit mai su hulaas badtai kai |
Many other kings reached there alongwith their fourfold army, getting pleased, reached there in order to see the wedding of Rummani
ਭੇਰਿ ਘਨੀ ਸਹਨਾਇ ਸਿੰਗੇ ਰਨ ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਅਉ ਤੁਰਹੀਨ ਬਜੈ ਕੈ ॥
bher ghanee sahanaae singe ran dundabh aau turaheen bajai kai |
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਇਤੇ ਛਪਿ ਆਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਤਿਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਛੈ ਕੈ ॥੧੯੮੫॥
sayaam ite chhap aavat bhayo kab sayaam bhanai tin kaaran chhai kai |1985|
The kettledrums, charionets, and small drums were being played with such intensity that the ear-drums seemed to be getting torn.1985.
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਜੋਊ ਬੇਦ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਲਿਖੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਕੀ ਸੋ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕੀਨੀ ॥
sayaam bhanai joaoo bed ke beech likhee bidh bayaah kee so duhoon keenee |
ਮੰਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੋ ਅਭਿਮੰਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੈ ਭੂਅ ਫੇਰਨ ਕੀ ਸੁ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੈ ਲੀਨੀ ॥
mantran so abhimantran kai bhooa feran kee su pavitr kai leenee |
The marriage of both was soleminsed according to Vedic rites and there were performed the matrimonial rites of moving round the sacred fire with the chanting of mantras
ਅਉਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਦਿਜ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਹੁਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਦਛਨਾ ਤਿਨ ਦੀਨੀ ॥
aaur jite dij sresatt hute tin ko at hee dachhanaa tin deenee |
Enormous gifts were given to the eminent Brahmins
ਬੇਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤਹ ਸੋ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਲਾਗਤ ਹੀਨੀ ॥੧੯੮੬॥
bedee rachee bhalee bhaatah so jadubeer binaa sabh laagat heenee |1986|
A charming altar was erected, but nothing seemed appropriate without Krishna.1986.
ਤਉ ਹੀ ਲਉ ਲੈ ਕਿਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਪੁਰੋਹਿਤ ਦੇਵੀ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥
tau hee lau lai kih sang purohit devee kee poojaa ke kaaj sidhaare |
Then taking the priest alongwith themselves all went to worship the goddess
ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਪੈ ਚੜਵਾਇ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਛੇ ਚਲੇ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਭਟ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
sayandan pai charravaae tabai tih paachhe chale tih ke bhatt bhaare |
Many warriors followed them on their chariots
ਯਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਘਨੋ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਰੁਕਮੈ ਇਹ ਬੈਨ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥
yaa bidh dekh prataap ghano mukh te rukamai ih bain uchaare |
ਰਾਖੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਤਿ ਮੋਰ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਧੰਨ︀ਯ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਅਬ ਭਾਗ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੧੯੮੭॥
raakhee prabhoo pat mor bhalee bidh dhanay kahiyo ab bhaag hamaare |1987|
Seeing such an atmosphere, Rukmi, the brother of Rukmani said this, “O Lord! I am very fortunate that you have protected my honour.”1987.

kaahe re man chitaveh udam jaa aahar har jeeo pariaa |
Why, O mind, do you contrive your schemes, when the Dear Lord Himself provides for your care?
ਸੈਲ ਪਥਰ ਮਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਏ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਧਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
sail pathar meh jant upaae taa kaa rijak aagai kar dhariaa |1|
From rocks and stones, He created the living beings, and He places before them their sustenance. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੀ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਿ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
mere maadhau jee satasangat mile si tariaa |
O my Dear Lord of Souls, one who meets with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, is saved.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੂਕੇ ਕਾਸਟ ਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parasaad param pad paaeaa sooke kaasatt hariaa |1| rahaau |
By Guru's Grace, he obtains the supreme status, and the dry branch blossoms forth in greenery. ||1||Pause||
ਜਨਨਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
janan pitaa lok sut banitaa koe na kis kee dhariaa |
Mother, father, friends, children, and spouse - no one is the support of any other.
ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਾਹੇ ਮਨ ਭਉ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
sir sir rijak sanbaahe tthaakur kaahe man bhau kariaa |2|
For each and every individual, the Lord and Master provides sustenance; why do you fear, O my mind? ||2||
ਊਡੈ ਊਡਿ ਆਵੈ ਸੈ ਕੋਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਬਚਰੇ ਛਰਿਆ ॥
aooddai aoodd aavai sai kosaa tis paachhai bachare chhariaa |
The flamingoes fly hundreds of miles, leaving their young ones behind.
ਉਨ ਕਵਨੁ ਖਲਾਵੈ ਕਵਨੁ ਚੁਗਾਵੈ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
aun kavan khalaavai kavan chugaavai man meh simaran kariaa |3|
Who feeds them, and who teaches them to feed themselves? Have you ever thought of this in your mind? ||3||
ਸਭ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਸ ਅਸਟ ਸਿਧਾਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਰ ਤਲ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
sabh nidhaan das asatt sidhaan tthaakur kar tal dhariaa |
All treasures and the eighteen supernatural spiritual powers of the Siddhas are held by the Lord and Master in the palm of His hand.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan naanak bal bal sad bal jaaeeai teraa ant na paaraavariaa |4|1|
Servant Nanak is devoted, dedicated, and forever a sacrifice to You - Your vast expanse has no limit. ||4||1||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar satigur prasaad |
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਕਿਰਿਆਚਾਰ ਕਰਹਿ ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਇਤੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥
kiriaachaar kareh khatt karamaa it raate sansaaree |
They perform the four rituals and six religious rites; the world is engrossed in these.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
antar mail na utarai haumai bin gur baajee haaree |1|
They are not cleansed of the filth of their ego within; without the Guru, they lose the game of life. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
mere tthaakur rakh levahu kirapaa dhaaree |
O my Lord and Master, please, grant Your Grace and preserve me.
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਹੋਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kott madhe ko viralaa sevak hor sagale biauhaaree |1| rahaau |
Out of millions, hardly anyone is a servant of the Lord. All the others are mere traders. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਭਿ ਸੋਧੇ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਬਾਤ ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ॥
saasat bed simrit sabh sodhe sabh ekaa baat pukaaree |
I have searched all the Shaastras, the Vedas and the Simritees, and they all affirm one thing:
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
bin gur mukat na koaoo paavai man vekhahu kar beechaaree |2|
without the Guru, no one obtains liberation; see, and reflect upon this in your mind. ||2||
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਏ ਧਰ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
atthasatth majan kar isanaanaa bhram aae dhar saaree |
Even if one takes cleansing baths at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, and wanders over the whole planet,
ਅਨਿਕ ਸੋਚ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੀ ॥੩॥
anik soch kareh din raatee bin satigur andhiaaree |3|
and performs all the rituals of purification day and night, still, without the True Guru, there is only darkness. ||3||
ਧਾਵਤ ਧਾਵਤ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਧਾਇਓ ਅਬ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੀ ॥
dhaavat dhaavat sabh jag dhaaeo ab aae har duaaree |
Roaming and wandering around, I have travelled over the whole world, and now, I have arrived at the Lord's Door.
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੇਟਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥
duramat mett budh paragaasee jan naanak guramukh taaree |4|1|2|
The Lord has eliminated my evil-mindedness, and enlightened my intellect; O servant Nanak, the Gurmukhs are saved. ||4||1||2||

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਾਪ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਤਾਪ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
har dhan jaap har dhan taap har dhan bhojan bhaaeaa |
The wealth of the Lord is my chanting, the wealth of the Lord is my deep meditation; the wealth of the Lord is the food I enjoy.
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਉ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
nimakh na bisrau man te har har saadhasangat meh paaeaa |1|
I do not forget the Lord, Har, Har, from my mind, even for an instant; I have found Him in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
ਮਾਈ ਖਾਟਿ ਆਇਓ ਘਰਿ ਪੂਤਾ ॥
maaee khaatt aaeo ghar pootaa |
O mother, your son has returned home with a profit:
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਚਲਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਬੈਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਾਗਤ ਸੂਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har dhan chalate har dhan baise har dhan jaagat sootaa |1| rahaau |
the wealth of the Lord while walking, the wealth of the Lord while sitting, and the wealth of the Lord while waking and sleeping. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਇ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
har dhan isanaan har dhan giaan har sang laae dhiaanaa |
The wealth of the Lord is my cleansing bath, the wealth of the Lord is my wisdom; I center my meditation on the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਬੇੜੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
har dhan tulahaa har dhan berree har har taar paraanaa |2|
The wealth of the Lord is my raft, the wealth of the Lord is my boat; the Lord, Har, Har, is the ship to carry me across. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਨਿ ਲਾਹਿਆ ਧੋਖਾ ॥
har dhan meree chint visaaree har dhan laahiaa dhokhaa |
Through the wealth of the Lord, I have forgotten my anxiety; through the wealth of the Lord, my doubt has been dispelled.
ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਾਥਿ ਚਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਥੋਕਾ ॥੩॥
har dhan te mai nav nidh paaee haath chario har thokaa |3|
From the wealth of the Lord, I have obtained the nine treasures; the true essence of the Lord has come into my hands. ||3||
ਖਾਵਹੁ ਖਰਚਹੁ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਲਤ ਪਲਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ॥
khaavahu kharachahu tott na aavai halat palat kai sange |
No matter how much I eat and expend this wealth, it is not exhausted; here and hereafter, it remains with me.
ਲਾਦਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
laad khajaanaa gur naanak kau deea ihu man har rang range |4|2|3|
Loading the treasure, Guru Nanak has given it, and this mind is imbued with the Lord's Love. ||4||2||3||
