ਦ੍ਰਉਣਜ ਭਾਨੁਜ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਭਜਿ ਗਏ ਨ ਬਾਧੀ ਧੀਰ ॥
draunaj bhaanuj kripaa bhaj ge na baadhee dheer |
ਭੂਰਸ੍ਰਵਾ ਕੁਰਰਾਜ ਸਬ ਟਰੇ ਲਖੀ ਰਨ ਭੀਰ ॥੧੬੫੧॥
bhoorasravaa kuraraaj sab ttare lakhee ran bheer |1651|
Forsaking their endurance, the son of Drona, the son of Surya and Kripacharya ran away and seeing the dreadful fighting Bhurshrva and Duryodhana also fled.1651.

SWAYYA
ਭਾਜੇ ਸਬੈ ਲਖਿ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਜੁਧਿਸਟਰਿ ਸ੍ਰੀਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਤਟਿ ਐਸੇ ਉਚਾਰਿਓ ॥
bhaaje sabai lakh kai su judhisattar sreepat ke tatt aise uchaario |
ਭੂਪ ਬਡੋ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿਧਿ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਪੈਗ ਟਰਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਟਾਰਿਓ ॥
bhoop baddo balavant kripaanidh kaahoon te paig ttario nahee ttaario |
Seeing all of them fleeing, Yudhishtar said to Krishna, “This king is very powerful and is not receding by anyone
ਭਾਨੁਜ ਭੀਖਮ ਦ੍ਰਉਣ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹਮ ਪਾਰਥ ਭੀਮ ਘਨੋ ਰਨ ਪਾਰਿਓ ॥
bhaanuj bheekham draun kripaa ham paarath bheem ghano ran paario |
ਸੋ ਨਹਿ ਨੈਕੁ ਟਰੈ ਰਨ ਤੇ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਸਬ ਹੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਉਰਖ ਹਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੬੫੨॥
so neh naik ttarai ran te ham hoon sab hoon prabh paurakh haario |1652|
“We have waged a terrible war with him, taking Karan, Bhisham, Drone, Kripacharya, Arjuna, Bhima etc. with us but he did not even slightly get aside from war and all of us had to surrender.1652.
ਭੀਖਮ ਭਾਨੁਜ ਅਉ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਭੀਮ ਘਨੋ ਹਠਿ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
bheekham bhaanuj aau durajodhan bheem ghano hatth judh machaayo |
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੁਸਲੀ ਬਰਮਾਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਾਤਕਿ ਕੋਪ ਘਨੋ ਚਿਤ ਮਾਝ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
sree musalee baramaakrit saatak kop ghano chit maajh badtaayo |
“Bhisham, Karan, Duryodhana, Bhim etc. waged a persistent and Balram, Kratvarma, Satyak etc. also became extremely enraged in their mind
ਹਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਰਨਧੀਰ ਸਬੈ ਅਬ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਮਨ ਆਯੋ ॥
haar rahe ranadheer sabai ab kaa prabh joo tumare man aayo |
“All the warriors are being defeated
ਭਾਗਤ ਪੈਗੁ ਨ ਸੋ ਰਨ ਤੇ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਸੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਬਸਾਯੋ ॥੧੬੫੩॥
bhaagat paig na so ran te tih so hamaro su kachhoo na basaayo |1653|
O Lord! what is in your mind now, that you want to do? Now all the warriors are running away and we have no control over them now.”1653.
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਜਿਤੇ ਗਨ ਦੇਵ ਤਿਤੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਊਪਰ ਧਾਏ ॥
rudr te aad jite gan dev tite mil kai nrip aoopar dhaae |
All the ganas of Rudra etc., who were there and all other gods who were there, they all together fell upon the king Kharag Singh
ਤੇ ਸਬ ਆਵਤ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਲੀ ਧਨੁ ਤਾਨ ਕੈ ਬਾਨ ਹਕਾਰਿ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
te sab aavat dekh balee dhan taan kai baan hakaar lagaae |
Seeing them all coming, this mighty warrior challenged all of them by pulling his bow
ਏਕ ਗਿਰੇ ਤਹ ਘਾਇਲ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਕ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਭਰੇ ਤਜਿ ਜੁਧ ਪਰਾਏ ॥
ek gire teh ghaaeil hvai ik traas bhare taj judh paraae |
Some of them, who were wounded, fell down and some becoming fearful ran away
ਏਕ ਲਰੇ ਨ ਡਰੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਸੋਊ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥੧੬੫੪॥
ek lare na ddare balavaan nidaan soaoo nrip maar giraae |1654|
The warriors who fought fearlessly, were ultimately killed by the king.1654.
ਜੀਤਿ ਸੁਰੇਸ ਧਨੇਸ ਖਗੇਸ ਗਨੇਸ ਕੋ ਘਾਇਲ ਕੈ ਮੁਰਛਾਯੋ ॥
jeet sures dhanes khages ganes ko ghaaeil kai murachhaayo |
After gaining victory over Surya, Kuber, Garuda etc., the king wounded Ganesh and made him unconscious
ਭੂਮਿ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਜਲੇਸ ਦਿਨੇਸ ਨਿਸੇਸ ਪਰਾਯੋ ॥
bhoom pariyo bisanbhaar nihaar jales dines nises paraayo |
Seeing Ganesh fallen on the ground, Varuna, Surya and Chandrama fled away
ਬੀਰ ਮਹੇਸ ਤੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਭਾਜ ਗਏ ਇਹ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਏਕ ਨ ਆਯੋ ॥
beer mahes te aadik bhaaj ge ih saamuhe ek na aayo |
The hero like Shiva also went away and did not come before the king
ਕੋਪ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿਧਿ ਆਵਤ ਜੋ ਸੁ ਚਪੇਟ ਸੋ ਮਾਰ ਕੈ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰਾਯੋ ॥੧੬੫੫॥
kop kripaanidh aavat jo su chapett so maar kai bhoom giraayo |1655|
Whosoever came before the king, getting enraged, the king caused him to fall down on the ground with the blow of his hand.1655.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਏ ਕਹੀ ਬਾਤ ਧਰਮ ਕੇ ਤਾਤ ॥
sree har siau har e kahee baat dharam ke taat |
Brahma said to Krishna, “You are the master of Dharma
ਤਿਹੀ ਸਮੈ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਸਿਉ ਮੁਸਕਾਤ ॥੧੬੫੬॥
tihee samai siv joo kahiyo brahame siau musakaat |1656|
” And at the same time Shiva said to Brahma, smilingly,1656

SWAYYA
ਆਪਨ ਸੋ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਭਟ ਜੂਝਿ ਰਹੈ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥
aapan so sab hee bhatt joojh rahai kar kai na marai nrip maario |
“Many mighty warriors like us have fought heroically with the king, but none has been able to kill him
ਤਉ ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ ਸਿਉ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਓ ॥
tau chaturaanan siau siv joo kab sayaam kahai ih bhaat uchaario |
” Then Shiva said further to Brahma:
ਸਕ੍ਰ ਜਮਾਦਿਕ ਬੀਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਇਨ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਰਨ ਪਾਰਿਓ ॥
sakr jamaadik beer jite ham hoon in so at hee ran paario |
“Indra, Yama and all of us have waged a dreadful war with the king
ਏ ਤੋ ਨਹੀ ਬਲ ਹਾਰਤ ਰੰਚਕ ਚਉਦਹੂੰ ਲੋਕਨਿ ਕੋ ਦਲੁ ਹਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੬੫੭॥
e to nahee bal haarat ranchak chaudahoon lokan ko dal haario |1657|
The army of the fourteen worlds has been dreaded, but the power of the king has not even slightly declined.”1657.

ਦੋਊ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਇਤ ਪੰਕਜ ਪੂਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਨੈਨ ॥

ਉਤ ਰਵਿ ਅਸਤਾਚਲਿ ਗਯੋ ਸਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਭਈ ਰੈਨ ॥੧੬੫੮॥
aut rav asataachal gayo sas pragattiyo bhee rain |1658|
In this way, Brahma and Shiva are holding consultation on this side and on the other side, the sun set, the moon arose and night fell.1658.

ਦੋਊ ਦਲ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਅਕੁਲਾਨੇ ॥

bhookh piaas so tan murajhaane |
Both the armies were extremely agitated and with hunger and thirst, the bodies of the warriors withered
ਅਰ ਤੇ ਲਰਤੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ਸਾਝ ॥
ar te larate hvai gee saajh |
ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਤਾ ਹੀ ਰਨ ਕੇ ਮਾਝ ॥੧੬੫੯॥
reh ge taa hee ran ke maajh |1659|
The evening fell with continued fighting and all of them had to remain in the battlefield.1659.
ਭੋਰ ਭਯੋ ਸਭ ਸੁਭਟ ਸੁ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
bhor bhayo sabh subhatt su jaage |
ਦੁਹ ਦਿਸ ਮਾਰੂ ਬਾਜਨ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
duh dis maaroo baajan laage |
In the morning, all the warriors awoke and the battle-drums were played from both the sides
ਸਾਜੇ ਕਵਚ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
saaje kavach sasatr kar dhaare |
ਬਹੁਰ ਜੁਧ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੬੬੦॥
bahur judh ke het sidhaare |1660|
The warriors wearing their armours and holding weapons marched for war.1660.
ੴ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਉਹਾੜੀ ਸਦ ਵਾਰ ॥
balihaaree gur aapane diauhaarree sad vaar |
A hundred times a day, I am a sacrifice to my Guru;
ਜਿਨਿ ਮਾਣਸ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਕੀਏ ਕਰਤ ਨ ਲਾਗੀ ਵਾਰ ॥੧॥
jin maanas te devate kee karat na laagee vaar |1|
He made angels out of men, without delay. ||1||
