ਤੁਮ ਕਹੋ ਦੇਵ ਸਰਬੰ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
tum kaho dev saraban bichaar |
I relate to thee all the thoughts, O Gurudeva (Or O Gurudeva )
ਜਿਮ ਕੀਓ ਆਪ ਕਰਤੇ ਪਸਾਰ ॥
jim keeo aap karate pasaar |
Tell me all the musings) how the Creator created the expanse of the world?
ਜਦਪਿ ਅਭੂਤ ਅਨਭੈ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
jadap abhoot anabhai anant |
Although the Lord is Elementless, Fearless and Infinite, !
ਤਉ ਕਹੋ ਜਥਾ ਮਤ ਤ੍ਰੈਣ ਤੰਤ ॥੧॥੨੩੧॥
tau kaho jathaa mat train tant |1|231|
Then how did He extend the texture of this world? 1.231.
ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੀਮ ਕਾਦਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
karataa kareem kaadar kripaal |
He is the Doer, Beneficent, Mighty and Merciful !
ਅਦ੍ਵੈ ਅਭੂਤ ਅਨਭੈ ਦਿਆਲ ॥
advai abhoot anabhai diaal |
He is Non-dual, Non-Elemental, Fearless and Benign.
ਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਰੰਤ ਦੁਖ ਦੋਖ ਰਹਤ ॥
daataa durant dukh dokh rehat |
He is the Donor, Endless and devoid of sufferings and blemishes.!
ਜਿਹ ਨੇਤਿ ਨੇਤਿ ਸਭ ਬੇਦ ਕਹਤ ॥੨॥੨੩੨॥
jih net net sabh bed kehat |2|232|
All the Vedas call Him ‘Neti, Neti’ (Not this, Not thisl….Infinite).2.232.
ਕਈ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਕੀਨੋ ਬਨਾਉ ॥
kee aooch neech keeno banaau |
He hath Created many beings in upper and lower regions.!
ਸਭ ਵਾਰ ਪਾਰ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਉ ॥
sabh vaar paar jaa ko prabhaau |
His Glory is spread in all places here and there.
ਸਭ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਜਾਨੰਤ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
sabh jeev jant jaanant jaeh |
All the being and creatures know Him. O foolish mind!
ਮਨ ਮੂੜ ਕਿਉ ਨ ਸੇਵੰਤ ਤਾਹਿ ॥੩॥੨੩੩॥
man moorr kiau na sevant taeh |3|233|
Why dost thou not remember Him? 3.233.
ਕਈ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ ਪਾਤ੍ਰ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੰਤ ॥
kee moorrh paatr poojaa karant |
Many fools worship the leaves (of Tulsi plant). !
ਕਈ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧ ਸੂਰਜ ਸਿਵੰਤ ॥
kee sidh saadh sooraj sivant |
Many adepts and saints adore the Sun.
ਕਈ ਪਲਟ ਸੂਰਜ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਕਰਾਇ ॥
kee palatt sooraj sijadaa karaae |
Many prostrate towards the west (opposite side of sunrise)!
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਲਖਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੩੪॥
prabh ek roop dvai kai lakhaae |4|234|
They consider the Lord as dual, who is actually one!4. 234
ਅਨਛਿਜ ਤੇਜ ਅਨਭੈ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ॥
anachhij tej anabhai prakaas |
His Glory is Unassailable and His illumination is devoid of fear!
ਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਰੰਤ ਅਦ੍ਵੈ ਅਨਾਸ ॥
daataa durant advai anaas |
He is Infinite Donor, Non-dual and Indestructible
ਸਭ ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹਤ ਰੂਪ ॥
sabh rog sog te rehat roop |
He is an Entity devoid of all ailments and sorrows!
ਅਨਭੈ ਅਕਾਲ ਅਛੈ ਸਰੂਪ ॥੫॥੨੩੫॥
anabhai akaal achhai saroop |5|235|
He is Fearless, Immortal and Invincible Entity!5. 235
ਕਰੁਣਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਕਾਮਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
karunaa nidhaan kaamal kripaal |
He is treasure of sympathy and perfectly Merciful!
ਦੁਖ ਦੋਖ ਹਰਤ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਿਆਲ ॥
dukh dokh harat daataa diaal |
He the Donor and Merciful Lord removes all sufferings and blemishes
ਅੰਜਨ ਬਿਹੀਨ ਅਨਭੰਜ ਨਾਥ ॥
anjan biheen anabhanj naath |
He is without the impact of maya and is an Infrangible!
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਉ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਥ ॥੬॥੨੩੬॥
jal thal prabhaau sarabatr saath |6|236|
Lord, His Glory pervades in water and on land and is the companion of all!6. 236
ਜਿਹ ਜਾਤ ਪਾਤ ਨਹੀ ਭੇਦ ਭਰਮ ॥
jih jaat paat nahee bhed bharam |
He is without caste, lineage, contrast and illusion,!
ਜਿਹ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਨਹੀ ਏਕ ਧਰਮ ॥
jih rang roop nahee ek dharam |
He is without colour, form and special religious discipline
ਜਿਹ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੋਊ ਏਕ ਸਾਰ ॥
jih satr mitr doaoo ek saar |
For Him the enemies and friends are the same!
ਅਛੈ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਬਿਚਲ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੭॥੨੩੭॥
achhai saroop abichal apaar |7|237|
His invincible form is Everlasting and Infinite!7. 237
ਜਾਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਜਿਹ ਰੂਪ ਰੇਖ ॥
jaanee na jaae jih roop rekh |
His form and mark cannot be known!
ਕਹਿ ਬਾਸ ਤਾਸ ਕਹਿ ਕਉਨ ਭੇਖ ॥
keh baas taas keh kaun bhekh |
Where doth He live? And what is His garb?
ਕਹਿ ਨਾਮ ਤਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਵਨ ਜਾਤ ॥
keh naam taas hai kavan jaat |
What is His Name? and what is His caste?
ਜਿਹ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ॥੮॥੨੩੮॥
jih satr mitr nahee putr bhraat |8|238|
He is without any enemy, friend, son and brother!8. 238
ਕਰੁਣਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਰੂਪ ॥
karunaa nidhaan kaaran saroop |
He is the treasure of Mercy and the cause of all causes!
ਜਿਹ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਚਿਹਨ ਨਹੀ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ॥
jih chakr chihan nahee rang roop |
He hath no mark, sign, colour and form
ਜਿਹ ਖੇਦ ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਾਲ ॥
jih khed bhed nahee karam kaal |
He is without suffering, action and death!
ਸਭ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਕੀ ਕਰਤ ਪਾਲ ॥੯॥੨੩੯॥
sabh jeev jant kee karat paal |9|239|
He is the Sustainer of all the beings and creatures!9. 239
ਉਰਧੰ ਬਿਰਹਤ ਸੁਧੰ ਸਰੂਪ ॥
auradhan birahat sudhan saroop |
He is the loftiest, biggest and Perfect Entity!
ਬੁਧੰ ਅਪਾਲ ਜੁਧੰ ਅਨੂਪ ॥
budhan apaal judhan anoop |
His intellect is boundless and is unique in warfare
ਜਿਹ ਰੂਪ ਰੇਖ ਨਹੀ ਰੰਗ ਰਾਗ ॥
jih roop rekh nahee rang raag |
He is without form, line, colour and affection!
ਅਨਛਿਜ ਤੇਜ ਅਨਭਿਜ ਅਦਾਗ ॥੧੦॥੨੪੦॥
anachhij tej anabhij adaag |10|240|
His Glory is Unassailable, Unappeasable and stainless!10. 240
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਮਹੀਪ ਬਨ ਤਨ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥
jal thal maheep ban tan durant |
He is the king of waters and lands; He, the Infinite Lord pervades the forests and the blades of grass!;
ਜਿਹ ਨੇਤਿ ਨੇਤਿ ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਚਰੰਤ ॥
jih net net nis din ucharant |
He is called ‘Neti, Neti’ (Not this, Not this…Infinite) night and day
ਪਾਇਓ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਜਿਹ ਪੈਰ ਪਾਰ ॥
paaeo na jaae jih pair paar |
His limits cannot be known!
ਦੀਨਾਨ ਦੋਖ ਦਹਿਤਾ ਉਦਾਰ ॥੧੧॥੨੪੧॥
deenaan dokh dahitaa udaar |11|241|
He, the Generous Lord, burns the blemishes of the lowly!11. 241
ਕਈ ਕੋਟ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਜਿਹ ਪਾਨਿਹਾਰ ॥
kee kott indr jih paanihaar |
Millions of Indras are at His service!
ਕਈ ਕੋਟ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਜੁਗੀਆ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
kee kott rudr jugeea duaar |
Millions of the Yogi Rudras (Shivas stand at His Gate)
ਕਈ ਬੇਦ ਬਿਆਸ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
kee bed biaas brahamaa anant |
Many Ved Vyas and innumerable Brahmas!
ਜਿਹ ਨੇਤ ਨੇਤ ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਚਰੰਤ ॥੧੨॥੨੪੨॥

Utter the words ‘Neti, Neti’ about Him, night and day!12. 242

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਤੁਟਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਪੀੜ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
bin gur rog na tuttee haumai peerr na jaae |
Without the Guru, the disease is not cured, and the pain of egotism is not removed.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
gur parasaadee man vasai naame rahai samaae |
By Guru's Grace, He dwells in the mind, and one remains immersed in His Name.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
gurasabadee har paaeeai bin sabadai bharam bhulaae |1|
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is found; without the Shabad, people wander, deceived by doubt. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
man re nij ghar vaasaa hoe |
O mind, dwell in the balanced state of your own inner being.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam naam saalaeh too fir aavan jaan na hoe |1| rahaau |
Praise the Lord's Name, and you shall no longer come and go in reincarnation. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
har iko daataa varatadaa doojaa avar na koe |
The One Lord alone is the Giver, pervading everywhere. There is no other at all.
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
sabad saalaahee man vasai sahaje hee sukh hoe |
Praise the Word of the Shabad, and He shall come to dwell in your mind; you shall be blessed with intuitive peace and poise.
ਸਭ ਨਦਰੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈ ਦੇਇ ॥੨॥
sabh nadaree andar vekhadaa jai bhaavai tai dee |2|
Everything is within the Lord's Glance of Grace. As He wishes, He gives. ||2||
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭਾ ਗਣਤ ਹੈ ਗਣਤੈ ਨਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
haumai sabhaa ganat hai ganatai nau sukh naeh |
In egotism, all must account for their actions. In this accounting, there is no peace.
ਬਿਖੁ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਬਿਖੁ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
bikh kee kaar kamaavanee bikh hee maeh samaeh |
Acting in evil and corruption, people are immersed in corruption.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਠਉਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਨੀ ਜਮਪੁਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
bin naavai tthaur na paaeinee jamapur dookh sahaeh |3|
Without the Name, they find no place of rest. In the City of Death, they suffer in agony. ||3||
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
jeeo pindd sabh tis daa tisai daa aadhaar |
Body and soul all belong to Him; He is the Support of all.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਤਾ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
gur parasaadee bujheeai taa paae mokh duaar |
By Guru's Grace, understanding comes, and then the Door of Liberation is found.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੫੭॥
naanak naam salaeh toon ant na paaraavaar |4|24|57|
O Nanak, sing the Praises of the Naam, the Name of the Lord; He has no end or limitation. ||4||24||57||

ਤਿਨਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
tinaa anand sadaa sukh hai jinaa sach naam aadhaar |
Those who have the Support of the True Name are in ecstasy and peace forever.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
gurasabadee sach paaeaa dookh nivaaranahaar |
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they obtain the True One, the Destroyer of pain.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
sadaa sadaa saache gun gaaveh saachai naae piaar |
Forever and ever, they sing the Glorious Praises of the True One; they love the True Name.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਿਤੋਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
kirapaa kar kai aapanee diton bhagat bhanddaar |1|
When the Lord Himself grants His Grace, He bestows the treasure of devotion. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
man re sadaa anand gun gaae |
O mind, sing His Glorious Praises, and be in ecstasy forever.
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sachee baanee har paaeeai har siau rahai samaae |1| rahaau |
Through the True Word of His Bani, the Lord is obtained, and one remains immersed in the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਲੁ ਥੀਆ ਰਤਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
sachee bhagatee man laal theea rataa sehaj subhaae |
In true devotion, the mind is dyed in the deep crimson color of the Lord's Love, with intuitive peace and poise.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
gurasabadee man mohiaa kahanaa kachhoo na jaae |
The mind is fascinated by the Word of the Guru's Shabad, which cannot be described.
ਜਿਹਵਾ ਰਤੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਰਸਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
jihavaa ratee sabad sachai amrit peevai ras gun gaae |
The tongue imbued with the True Word of the Shabad drinks in the Amrit with delight, singing His Glorious Praises.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
guramukh ehu rang paaeeai jis no kirapaa kare rajaae |2|
The Gurmukh obtains this love, when the Lord, in His Will, grants His Grace. ||2||
ਸੰਸਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਸੁਤਿਆ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥
sansaa ihu sansaar hai sutiaa rain vihaae |
This world is an illusion; people pass their life-nights sleeping.
ਇਕਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਕਢਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
eik aapanai bhaanai kadt leian aape leon milaae |
By the Pleasure of His Will, He lifts some out, and unites them with Himself.
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇ ॥
aape hee aap man vasiaa maaeaa mohu chukaae |
He Himself abides in the mind, and drives out attachment to Maya.
ਆਪਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਦਿਤੀਅਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੩॥
aap vaddaaee diteean guramukh dee bujhaae |3|
He Himself bestows glorious greatness; He inspires the Gurmukh to understand. ||3||
ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਭੁਲਿਆ ਲਏ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥
sabhanaa kaa daataa ek hai bhuliaa le samajhaae |
The One Lord is the Giver of all. He corrects those who make mistakes.
ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਖੁਆਇਅਨੁ ਦੂਜੈ ਛਡਿਅਨੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
eik aape aap khuaaeian doojai chhaddian laae |
He Himself has deceived some, and attached them to duality.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
guramatee har paaeeai jotee jot milaae |
Through the Guru's Teachings, the Lord is found, and one's light merges into the Light.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੫੮॥
anadin naame ratiaa naanak naam samaae |4|25|58|
Attuned to the Name of the Lord night and day, O Nanak, you shall be absorbed into the Name. ||4||25||58||

ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥
gunavantee sach paaeaa trisanaa taj vikaar |
The virtuous obtain Truth; they give up their desires for evil and corruption.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
gurasabadee man rangiaa rasanaa prem piaar |
Their minds are imbued with the Word of the Guru's Shabad; the Love of their Beloved is on their tongues.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
bin satigur kinai na paaeo kar vekhahu man veechaar |
Without the True Guru, no one has found Him; reflect upon this in your mind and see.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਕਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੧॥
manamukh mail na utarai jichar gur sabad na kare piaar |1|
The filth of the self-willed manmukhs is not washed off; they have no love for the Guru's Shabad. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਚਲੁ ॥
man mere satigur kai bhaanai chal |
O my mind, walk in harmony with the True Guru.
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਖ ਲਹਹਿ ਮਹਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nij ghar vaseh amrit peeveh taa sukh laheh mehal |1| rahaau |
Dwell within the home of your own inner being, and drink in the Ambrosial Nectar; you shall attain the Peace of the Mansion of His Presence. ||1||Pause||
ਅਉਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਗੁਣੁ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਬਹਣਿ ਨ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥
aaugunavantee gun ko nahee behan na milai hadoor |
The unvirtuous have no merit; they are not allowed to sit in His Presence.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਅਵਗਣਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
manamukh sabad na jaanee avagan so prabh door |
The self-willed manmukhs do not know the Shabad; those without virtue are far removed from God.
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
jinee sach pachhaaniaa sach rate bharapoor |
Those who recognize the True One are permeated and attuned to Truth.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
gurasabadee man bedhiaa prabh miliaa aap hadoor |2|
Their minds are pierced through by the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and God Himself ushers them into His Presence. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗਣਿ ਰੰਗਿਓਨੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
aape rangan rangion sabade leon milaae |
He Himself dyes us in the Color of His Love; through the Word of His Shabad, He unites us with Himself.
ਸਚਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਜੋ ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
sachaa rang na utarai jo sach rate liv laae |
This True Color shall not fade away, for those who are attuned to His Love.
ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਭਵਿ ਥਕੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
chaare kunddaa bhav thake manamukh boojh na paae |
The self-willed manmukhs grow weary of wandering around in all four directions, but they do not understand.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸੋ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
jis satigur mele so milai sachai sabad samaae |3|
One who is united with the True Guru, meets and merges in the True Word of the Shabad. ||3||
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਘਣੇਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਥਕੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
mitr ghanere kar thakee meraa dukh kaattai koe |
I have grown weary of making so many friends, hoping that someone might be able to end my suffering.
ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
mil preetam dukh kattiaa sabad milaavaa hoe |
Meeting with my Beloved, my suffering has ended; I have attained Union with the Word of the Shabad.
ਸਚੁ ਖਟਣਾ ਸਚੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਸਚੇ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥
sach khattanaa sach raas hai sache sachee soe |
Earning Truth, and accumulating the Wealth of Truth, the truthful person gains a reputation of Truth.
ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੫੯॥
sach mile se na vichhurreh naanak guramukh hoe |4|26|59|
Meeting with the True One, O Nanak, the Gurmukh shall not be separated from Him again. ||4||26||59||
