ਬਾਜਤ ਬਸੰਤ ਅਰੁ ਭੈਰਵ ਹਿੰਡੋਲ ਰਾਗ ਬਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਲਲਤਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ॥
baajat basant ar bhairav hinddol raag baajat hai lalataa ke saath hvai dhanaasaree |
Krishna is playing on his flute in the forest, creating a joyous atmosphere,
ਮਾਲਵਾ ਕਲ︀ਯਾਨ ਅਰੁ ਮਾਲਕਉਸ ਮਾਰੂ ਰਾਗ ਬਨ ਮੈ ਬਜਾਵੈ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਮੰਗਲ ਨਿਵਾਸਰੀ ॥
maalavaa kalayaan ar maalkaus maaroo raag ban mai bajaavai kaanrah mangal nivaasaree |
With the musical modes like Vasant, Bhairava, Hindol, Lalit, dhansari, Malwa, Kalyan Malkaus, Maru etc.
ਸੁਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਅਉ ਪੰਨਗੀ ਜੇ ਹੁਤੀ ਤਹਾ ਧੁਨਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਨਤ ਪੈ ਨ ਰਹੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਜਾਸੁ ਰੀ ॥
suree ar aasuree aau panagee je hutee tahaa dhun ke sunat pai na rahee sudh jaas ree |
Hearing the tune, the young damsels of gods, demons and Nagas are forgetting the consciousness of their bodies
ਕਹੈ ਇਉ ਦਾਸਰੀ ਸੁ ਐਸੀ ਬਾਜੀ ਬਾਸੁਰੀ ਸੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਾਨੇ ਯਾ ਮੈ ਸਭ ਰਾਗ ਕੋ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਰੀ ॥੩੩੨॥
kahai iau daasaree su aisee baajee baasuree su mere jaane yaa mai sabh raag ko nivaas ree |332|
They are all saying that the flute is being played in the manner as if the male and female musical modes are living on all the four sides.332.
ਕਰੁਨਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਬੇਦ ਕਹਤ ਬਖਾਨ ਯਾ ਕੀ ਬੀਚ ਤੀਨ ਲੋਕ ਫੈਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਬਾਸੁ ਰੀ ॥
karunaa nidhaan bed kehat bakhaan yaa kee beech teen lok fail rahee hai su baas ree |
The sound of the flute of that treasure of mercy (Krishna) whose elucidation is also found in the Vedas, is spreading in all the three worlds,
ਦੇਵਨ ਕੀ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਮੈ ਧਾਈ ਧਾਈ ਆਵੈ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਸੁਰਗ ਬਾਸੁ ਰੀ ॥
devan kee kaniaa taa kee sun sun sraunan mai dhaaee dhaaee aavai taj kai surag baas ree |
Hearing its voice, the daughters of gods leaving their abode are coming with the speed
ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ︀ਯ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਗ ਕੋ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਰਚਿਯੋ ਹੈ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਇਹ ਰਾਗਨ ਕੋ ਬਾਸੁ ਰੀ ॥
hvai kar prasanay roop raag ko nihaar kahiyo rachiyo hai bidhaataa ih raagan ko baas ree |
They are saying that the providence has created these musical modes for the flute itself
ਰੀਝੇ ਸਭ ਗਨ ਉਡਗਨ ਭੇ ਮਗਨ ਜਬ ਬਨ ਉਪਬਨ ਮੈ ਬਜਾਈ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਾਸੁਰੀ ॥੩੩੩॥
reejhe sabh gan uddagan bhe magan jab ban upaban mai bajaaee kaanrah baasuree |333|
All the ganas and stars have become pleased when Krishna played on his flute in the forests and gardens.333.

ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਜਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਅਤਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਡੇਰਨ ਆਏ ॥
kaanrah bajaavat hai muralee at aanand kai man dderan aae |
ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਵਤ ਕੂਦਤ ਆਵਤ ਗੋਪ ਸਭੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ॥
taal bajaavat koodat aavat gop sabho mil mangal gaae |
Being extremely pleased, Krishna comes home and plays on his flute and all the gopas come springing and singing in consonance with the tune
ਆਪਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਧਨਠੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਤਿਨੋ ਪਹਿ ਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਨਾਚ ਨਚਾਏ ॥
aapan hvai dhanatthee bhagavaan tino peh te bahu naach nachaae |
The Lord (Krishna) himself inspires them and cause them to dance in various ways
ਰੈਨ ਪਰੀ ਤਬ ਆਪਨ ਆਪਨ ਸੋਇ ਰਹੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਏ ॥੩੩੪॥
rain paree tab aapan aapan soe rahe grihi aanand paae |334|
When the night falls, all of them being highly pleased go to their homes and sleep.334.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਸਿਕੰਧੇ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਬਿਪਨ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਨ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਭੋਜਨ ਲੇਇ ਉਧਾਰ ਕਰਬੋ ਬਰਨਨੰ ॥
eit sree dasam sikandhe bachitr naattak granthe krisanaavataare bipan kee treeyan ko chit har bhojan lee udhaar karabo barananan |
ਅਥ ਗੋਵਰਧਨ ਗਿਰਿ ਕਰ ਪਰ ਧਾਰਬੋ ॥
ath govaradhan gir kar par dhaarabo |

ਇਸੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਜੀ ਕੀਨੇ ਦਿਵਸ ਬਿਤੀਤ ॥
eisee bhaat so krisan jee keene divas biteet |
In this way Krishna passed a long time when the day of Indra-worship arrived,
ਹਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਅਯੋ ਗੋਪ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ਚੀਤਿ ॥੩੩੫॥
har poojaa ko din ayo gop bichaaree cheet |335|
The gopas held consultations with one another.335.

ਆਯੋ ਹੈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਦ︀ਯੋਸ ਸਭੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਬਾਤ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
aayo hai indr kee poojaa ko dayos sabho mil gopin baat uchaaree |
All the gopas said that the day of Indra-worship has arrived
ਭੋਜਨ ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨੇਕਨ ਕੋ ਰੁ ਪੰਚਾਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੀ ਕਰੋ ਜਾਇ ਤਯਾਰੀ ॥
bhojan bhaat anekan ko ru panchaamrit kee karo jaae tayaaree |
We should prepare various types of foods and Panchamrit
ਨੰਦ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜਬ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਸੋ ਬਿਧਿ ਅਉਰ ਚਿਤੀ ਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥
nand kahiyo jab gopin so bidh aaur chitee man beech muraaree |
When Nand said all this to gopas then Krishna reflected something else in his mind
ਕੋ ਬਪੁਰਾ ਮਘਵਾ ਹਮਰੀ ਸਮ ਪੂਜਨ ਜਾਤ ਜਹਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੩੩੬॥
ko bapuraa maghavaa hamaree sam poojan jaat jahaa brij naaree |336|
Who is this Indra for whose the women of Braja are going, equalizing him with me?336.

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਬੋਲਿਯੋ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਤਾਤ ਕਾਹੇ ਕੇ ਨਵਿਤ ਕੋ ਸਾਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਤੈ ਬਨਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
eih bidh boliyo kaanrah karunaa nidhaan taat kaahe ke navit ko saamrigee tai banaaee hai |
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਐਸੇ ਨੰਦ ਜੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਕੀਪਤਿ ਭਾਖੀਅਤ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਬਨਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਸੁਨਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
kahiyo aise nand jo trilokeepat bhaakheeat taahee ko banaaee har keh kai sunaaee hai |
Krishna, the ocean of mercy said, “O dear father! For whom all these things have been prepared?” Nand said to Krishan, “He, who is the Lord of the three worlds, for that Indra all these things have been made
ਕਾਹੇ ਕੇ ਨਵਿਤ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬਾਰਿਦ ਤ੍ਰਿਨਨ ਕਾਜ ਗਊਅਨ ਕੀ ਰਛ ਕਰੀ ਅਉ ਹੋਤ ਆਈ ਹੈ ॥
kaahe ke navit kahiyo baarid trinan kaaj gaooan kee rachh karee aau hot aaee hai |
We do all this for rain and grass, with which our cows have always remained protected
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਏਤੋ ਲੋਗ ਹੈ ਅਜਾਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਈਸਰ ਤੇ ਹੋਤ ਨਹੀ ਮਘਵਾ ਤੇ ਗਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੩੩੭॥
kahiyo bhagavaan eto log hai ajaan brij eesar te hot nahee maghavaa te gaaee hai |337|
” Then Krishna said, “These people are ignorant, they do not know that if the loft of Braja cannot protect the, how then Indra will do it?”337.

ਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਮੇਘੁ ਸੁਰਪਤਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਸੁ ਤਾਤ ਸੁਨੋ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਕ ਸਭੈ ਰੇ ॥
hai nahee megh surapat haath su taat suno ar lok sabhai re |
“O dear father and other people! Listen, the cloud is not in the hand of Indra
ਭੰਜਨ ਭਉ ਅਨਭੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸੁ ਦੇਤ ਸਭੈ ਜਨ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਲੈ ਰੇ ॥
bhanjan bhau anabhai bhagavaan su det sabhai jan ko ar lai re |
Only one Lord, who is fearless, gives everything to all
ਕਿਉ ਮਘਵਾ ਤੁਮ ਪੂਜਨ ਜਾਤ ਕਰੋ ਤੁਮ ਸੇਵ ਹਿਤੰ ਚਿਤ ਕੈ ਰੇ ॥
kiau maghavaa tum poojan jaat karo tum sev hitan chit kai re |
ਧ੍ਰਯਾਨ ਧਰੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਬਾਤਨ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਫਲ ਦੈ ਰੇ ॥੩੩੮॥
dhrayaan dharo sabh hee mil kai sabh baatan ko tum ko fal dai re |338|
“Why do you hold this worship for Indra with affection? Remember the Lord, getting together, He will reward you for this.338.
ਬਾਸਵ ਜਗ੍ਰਯਨ ਕੈ ਬਸਿ ਮੇਘ ਕਿਧੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਉਚਾਰੈ ॥
baasav jagrayan kai bas megh kidho brahamaa ih baat uchaarai |
“Indra is under the control of Yajnas, Brahma has also said so
ਲੋਗਨ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੂਰਜ ਮੈ ਹੁਇ ਕੈ ਜਲ ਡਾਰੈ ॥
logan ke pratipaaran ko har sooraj mai hue kai jal ddaarai |
In order to sustain the people, the Lord causes rain through the medium of the sun
ਕਉਤੁਕ ਦੇਖਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਕੋ ਪਿਖਿ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਸਿਵ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੈ ॥
kautuk dekhat jeevan ko pikh kautuk hvai siv taeh sanghaarai |
“He himself sees the play of the beings and within this play Shiva destroys them
ਹੈ ਵਹ ਏਕ ਕਿਧੋ ਸਰਤਾ ਸਮ ਬਾਹਨ ਕੇ ਜਮ ਬਾਹੇ ਬਿਥਾਰੈ ॥੩੩੯॥
hai veh ek kidho sarataa sam baahan ke jam baahe bithaarai |339|
That Supreme essence is like a stream and all the various types of smaller streams have emanated from it.339.
ਪਾਥਰ ਪੈ ਜਲ ਪੈ ਨਗ ਪੈ ਤਰ ਪੈ ਧਰ ਪੈ ਅਰੁ ਅਉਰ ਨਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
paathar pai jal pai nag pai tar pai dhar pai ar aaur naree hai |
“That Lord (Murari and Hari) abides in stone, water,
ਦੇਵਨ ਪੈ ਅਰੁ ਦੈਤਨ ਪੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਉ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਹਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
devan pai ar daitan pai kab sayaam kahai aau muraar haree hai |
Mountain, tree, earth, men, gods and demons
ਪਛਨ ਪੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜਨ ਪੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਪੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਹੋਤ ਖਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
pachhan pai mrigaraajan pai mrig ke gan pai fun hot kharee hai |
“The same Lord in reality, abides in birds, dear and lions
ਭੇਦ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਸਭੈ ਇਨਹੂੰ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕਹਾ ਪੂਜ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ॥੩੪੦॥
bhed kahiyo ih baat sabhai inahoon ih kee kahaa pooj karee hai |340|
I tell you all this secret that instead of worshipping all the gods separately, worship on the Lord-God.”340.
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਨੰਦ ਪੈ ਹਮਰੀ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਲਈਯੈ ॥
tab hee has kai har baat kahee nand pai hamaree binatee sun leeyai |
Krishna then said smilingly to Nand, "Lesting to a request of mine
ਪੂਜਹੁ ਬਿਪਨ ਕੋ ਮੁਖ ਗਊਅਨ ਪੂਜਨ ਜਾ ਗਿਰਿ ਹੈ ਤਹ ਜਈਯੈ ॥
poojahu bipan ko mukh gaooan poojan jaa gir hai teh jeeyai |
You may worship Brahmins, cows and the mountain,
ਗਊਅਨ ਕੋ ਪਯ ਪੀਜਤ ਹੈ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੇ ਚੜ੍ਰਹਿਐ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਈਯੈ ॥
gaooan ko pay peejat hai gir ke charrrahiai man aanand peeyai |
ਦਾਨ ਦਏ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਜਸੁ ਹ︀ਯਾਂ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਗਏ ਜੁ ਦਯੋ ਸੋਊ ਖਈਯੈ ॥੩੪੧॥
daan de tin ke jas hayaan paralok ge ju dayo soaoo kheeyai |341|
Because we drink the milk of cows and on mountain, we feel happy; on giving alms to the Brahmins, we get renow here and also comfort in the next world.341.
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਹੀ ਪਿਤ ਸੋ ਇਕ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੋ ਤੁ ਕਹੋ ਮਮ ਤੋ ਸੋ ॥
tab hee bhagavaan kahee pit so ik baat suno tu kaho mam to so |
ਪੂਜਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਸਬੈ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੌ ਤੁਮ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕਰੈ ਕੁਪਿ ਕਿਆ ਫੁਨਿ ਤੋ ਸੋ ॥
poojahu jaae sabai gir kau tum indr karai kup kiaa fun to so |
Then Krishna said this also to his father, “Go and worship the mountain, Indra will not be angry
ਮੋ ਸੋ ਸੁਪੂਤ ਭਯੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰੋ ਮਘਵਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਝੋਸੋ ॥
mo so supoot bhayo tumare grihi maar ddaro maghavaa sang jhoso |
“I am a good son in your house, I shall kill Indra
ਰਹਸਿ ਕਹੀ ਪਿਤ ਪਾਰਥ ਕੀ ਤਜਿ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਜਾ ਹਮਰੀ ਅਨ ਮੋ ਸੋ ॥੩੪੨॥
rehas kahee pit paarath kee taj hai ih jaa hamaree an mo so |342|
O dear father! I tell you this secret worship the mountain and forsake the worship of Indra.”342.
ਤਾਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਜੁ ਨੰਦ ਸੁਨੀ ਸਭ ਬਾਤ ਭਲੀ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰ ਬਾਧੀ ॥
taat kee baat ju nand sunee sabh baat bhalee sir aoopar baadhee |
When Nand heard the words of his son, he resolved to act on it
ਬਾਕੋ ਕੀ ਕੈ ਮੁਰਵੀ ਤਨ ਕੈ ਧਨੁ ਤੀਛਨ ਮਤ ਮਹਾ ਸਰ ਸਾਧੀ ॥
baako kee kai muravee tan kai dhan teechhan mat mahaa sar saadhee |
The arrow of sharp intellect penetrated in his mind
ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਨਤਿਯੋ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਕਬੁਧਿ ਗੀ ਛੂਟਿ ਚਿਰੀ ਜਿਹ ਫਾਧੀ ॥
sraunan mai sunatiyo ih baat kabudh gee chhoott chiree jih faadhee |
Listening to the words of Krishna, the depravity was forsaken like the flying away of a caught sparrow
ਮੋਹਿ ਕੀ ਬਾਰਿਦ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਿਵਾਰ ਦਈ ਉਮਡੀ ਜਨੁ ਆਂਧੀ ॥੩੪੩॥
mohi kee baarid hvai kar giaan nivaar dee umaddee jan aandhee |343|
The clouds of attachment flew away with the storm of knowledge.343.
ਨੰਦ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਕੈ ਗੋਪ ਲਏ ਹਰਿ ਆਇਸੁ ਮਾਨਿ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰ ਲੀਆ ॥
nand bulaae kai gop le har aaeis maan sir aoopar leea |
ਪੂਜਹੁ ਗਊਅਨ ਅਉ ਮੁਖ ਬਿਪਨ ਭਈਅਨ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਆਇਸੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
poojahu gaooan aau mukh bipan bheean so ih aaeis keea |
Agreeing with Krishna, Nand called all the gopas and said, “Worship the Brahmins and the cows,”
ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਤਉ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤੋ ਸੋ ਗ︀ਯਾਨ ਭਲੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸਮਝੀਆ ॥
fer kahiyo ham tau kahiyo to so gayaan bhalo man mai samajheea |
He said again, “I am saying this thing to you, because I have clearly understood it
ਚਿਤ ਦਯੋ ਸਭਨੋ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਗਨ ਕੋ ਪਤਿ ਚਿਤਨ ਕੀਆ ॥੩੪੪॥
chit dayo sabhano ham so tihu logan ko pat chitan keea |344|
I have till today worshipped all others and not meditated upon the Lord of the three worlds.”344.
ਗੋਪ ਚਲੇ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਆਇਸੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
gop chale utth kai grih ko brij ke pat ko fun aaeis paaee |
ਅਛਤ ਧੂਪ ਪੰਚਾਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀਪਕ ਪੂਜਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
achhat dhoop panchaamrit deepak poojan kee sabh bhaat banaaee |
The gopas went away with the permission of Nand, the lord of Braja and prepared for the worship bringing the fragrances, incense, Panchamrit, earthern lamps etc.
ਲੈ ਕੁਰਬੇ ਅਪਨੈ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੌ ਸਭ ਢੋਲ ਬਜਾਈ ॥
lai kurabe apanai sabh sang chale gir kau sabh dtol bajaaee |
Taking their families alongwith them and beating their drum, they all went towards the mountain
ਨੰਦ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਜਸੁਧਾਊ ਚਲੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਚਲੇ ਮੁਸਲੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਾਈ ॥੩੪੫॥
nand chaliyo jasudhaaoo chalee bhagavaan chale musalee sang bhaaee |345|
Nand, Yashoda, Krishna and Balram also went.345.
ਨੰਦ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਕੁਰਬੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਤੀਰ ਜਬੈ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਲਿ ਆਯੋ ॥
nand chaliyo kurabe sang lai kar teer jabai gir ke chal aayo |
ਗਊਅਨ ਘਾਸ ਚਰਾਇਤ ਸੋ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਪਨ ਖੀਰ ਆਹਾਰ ਖਵਾਯੋ ॥
gaooan ghaas charaaeit so bahu bipan kheer aahaar khavaayo |
Nand went with his family and when they came near the mountain they gave food to their cows and rice boiled with milk and sugar etc. to the Brahmins
ਆਪ ਪਰੋਸਨ ਲਾਗ ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਗੋਪ ਸਭੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
aap parosan laag jadupat gop sabhai man mai sukh paayo |
When Krishna himself began to serve food, all the gopas were pleased
ਬਾਰ ਚੜਾਇ ਲਏ ਰਥ ਪੈ ਚਲ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਕਉਤਕ ਅਉਰ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥੩੪੬॥
baar charraae le rath pai chal kai ih kautak aaur banaayo |346|
Krishna asked all the boys to ascend his chariot and began a new amorous play.”346.
ਕਉਤਕ ਏਕ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਸੂਰਤਿ ਏਕ ਧਰੀ ਗਿਰ ਬਾਕੀ ॥
kautak ek bichaar jadupat soorat ek dharee gir baakee |
Keeping the new amorous play in his mind, Krishna transformed the figure of one of the boys into a mountain
ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਬਨਾਇ ਧਰੀ ਨਗ ਕੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਹ ਗਮ੍ਰਯ ਨ ਕਾ ਕੀ ॥
sring banaae dharee nag kai kab sayaam kahai jeh gamray na kaa kee |
He created the horns (on the head) of that boy and made him a symbol of a high mountain, where none can reach
ਭੋਜਨ ਪਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਛਿ ਕਿਧੋ ਵਹ ਬਾਤ ਲਖੀ ਨ ਪਰੈ ਕਛੁ ਵਾ ਕੀ ॥
bhojan paat pratachh kidho veh baat lakhee na parai kachh vaa kee |
Now that mountain like boy began to eat food apparently
ਕਉਤਕ ਏਕ ਲਖੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਅਉ ਜੋ ਪਿਖਵੈ ਅਟਕੈ ਮਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ॥੩੪੭॥
kautak ek lakhai bhagavaan aau jo pikhavai attakai mat taa kee |347|
The Lord (Krishna) himself began to see this spectacle and whosoever was seeing this spectacle, his thoughts only concentrated on him.347.
ਤੌ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਤਬੈ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਸਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਤ ਤਿਨੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਾਖੀ ॥
tau bhagavaan tabai has kai sam amrit baat tinai sang bhaakhee |
ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਤ ਦਯੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਗਿਰਿ ਲੋਕ ਸਭੈ ਪਿਖਵੋ ਤੁਮ ਆਖੀ ॥
bhojan khaat dayo hamaro gir lok sabhai pikhavo tum aakhee |
Then the Lord (Krishna) said smilingly, “All of you many see that the mountain is eating food given by me
ਹੋਇ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਸਮੈ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਸੁਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਜਬ ਸਾਖੀ ॥
hoe rahe bisamai sabh gop sunee har ke mukh te jab saakhee |
All the gopas listening to this from the mouth of Krishna wondered
ਗਿਆਨ ਜਨਾਵਰ ਕੀ ਲਈ ਬਾਜ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਵਾਰਨ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਦਈ ਜਬ ਚਾਖੀ ॥੩੪੮॥
giaan janaavar kee lee baaj hvai gavaaran kaanrah dee jab chaakhee |348|
When the gopis came to know about this amorous play of Krishna, they were also enlightened.348.
ਅੰਜੁਲ ਜੋਰਿ ਸਭੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਗੇ ॥
anjul jor sabhai brij ke jan kott pranaam karai har aage |
All began to bow before Krishna with folded hands
ਭੂਲ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਮਘਵਾ ਸੁਧਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਭੀਤਰ ਪਾਗੇ ॥
bhool gee sabh ko maghavaa sudh kaanrah hee ke ras bheetar paage |
Everyone forgot Indra and were dyed in the love of Krishna
ਸੋਵਤ ਥੇ ਜੁ ਪਰੇ ਬਿਖ ਮੈ ਸਭ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਲਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
sovat the ju pare bikh mai sabh dhayaan lage har ke jan jaage |
ਅਉਰ ਗਈ ਸੁਧ ਭੂਲ ਸਭੋ ਇਕ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਮੈ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੇ ॥੩੪੯॥
aaur gee sudh bhool sabho ik kaanrah hee ke ras mai anuraage |349|
Those who were sleeping, having indulged in evil deeds, they all awoke and began to meditate on the Lord. They forgot all other consciousness and were absorbed in Krishna.349.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਹਸਿ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਾਮਿ ਚਲੋ ਜੋਊ ਹੈ ਹਰਤਾ ਅਘ ॥
kaanrah kahee sabh ko has ke mil dhaam chalo joaoo hai harataa agh |
ਨੰਦ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਬਲਭਦ੍ਰ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਊ ਚਲੀ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲ ਬਿਨਾਨਘ ॥
nand chaliyo balabhadr chaliyo jasudhaa aoo chalee nand laal binaanagh |
Krishna, who is the destroyer of the sins of all, said smilingly to all, “All of you may go home,” Yashoda, Nand, Krishna and Balbhadra, all becoming sinless, went to their homes
ਪੂਜ ਜਬੈ ਇਨਹੂੰ ਨ ਕਰੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਕੁਪਿਓ ਇਨ ਪੈ ਧਰਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਘ ॥
pooj jabai inahoon na karee tab hee kupio in pai dharataa pragh |
When they not worship Indra, he became furious and bore his Vajra
ਬੇਦਨ ਮਧ ਕਹੀ ਇਨਿ ਭੀਮ ਤੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਪਤਵਾ ਮਘ ॥੩੫੦॥
bedan madh kahee in bheem te maar ddariyo chhal so patavaa magh |350|

ਭੂ ਸੁਤ ਸੋ ਲਰ ਕੈ ਜਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਨਵਸਾਤ ਛੁਡਾਇ ਲਈ ਬਰਮੰਙਾ ॥
bhoo sut so lar kai jin hoon navasaat chhuddaae lee baramangaa |
Krishna, who fighting with Bhumasura, saved sixteen thousand women,
ਆਦਿ ਸਤਜੁਗ ਕੇ ਮੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੜ ਤੋਰਿ ਦਏ ਸਭ ਜਿਉ ਕਚ ਬੰਙਾ ॥
aad satajug ke mur ke garr tor de sabh jiau kach bangaa |
Who in Satyuga had shattered the citadels like the bangled of glass,
ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਦੇਵਨ ਹਾਰ ਇਹੀ ਜੁਗ ਸੰਙਾ ॥
hai karataa sabh hee jag ko ar devan haar ihee jug sangaa |
He is virtually the Creator and the Sustainer of the whole universe
ਲੋਕਨ ਕੋ ਪਤਿ ਸੋ ਮਤਿ ਮੰਦ ਬਿਬਾਦ ਕਰੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਮਤਿ ਲੰਙਾ ॥੩੫੧॥
lokan ko pat so mat mand bibaad karai maghavaa mat langaa |351|
Indra of low intellect, is trying to quarrel with him.351.
ਗੋਪਨ ਸੋ ਖਿਝ ਕੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੋਪ ਰਚੇ ॥
gopan so khijh kai maghavaa taj kai man aanand kop rache |
Annoyed with the gopas and forsaking his peace of mind, being in great fury,
ਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਘਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਹੀ ਬਰਖੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਪੈ ਰਸ ਬੀਰ ਹੀ ਮਧ ਗਚੇ ॥
sang meghan jaae kahee barakho brij pai ras beer hee madh gache |
Indra asked the clouds, “All of you may go, shower with full force the rain on Braja
ਕਰੀਯੋ ਬਰਖਾ ਇਤਨੀ ਉਨ ਪੈ ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਪ ਨ ਏਕ ਬਚੇ ॥
kareeyo barakhaa itanee un pai jih te fun gop na ek bache |
“Shower so much rain, that not even one gopa may survive and all the brothers,
ਸਭ ਭੈਨਨ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਨ ਤਾਤਨ ਪਊਤ੍ਰਨ ਤਊਅਨ ਮਾਰਹੁ ਸਾਥ ਚਚੇ ॥੩੫੨॥
sabh bhainan bhraatan taatan paootran taooan maarahu saath chache |352|
Sisters, fathers, sons, grandsons and uncles all may perish.”352.
ਆਇਸੁ ਮਾਨਿ ਪੁਰੰਦਰ ਕੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਭ ਮੇਘਨ ਕਾਛ ਸੁ ਕਾਛੇ ॥
aaeis maan purandar ko apane sabh meghan kaachh su kaachhe |
Getting the orders of Indra, all the clouds started towards Braja for besieging and devastating Braja
ਧਾਇ ਚਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਮਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਘੇਰਿ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਤੇ ਘਨ ਆਛੇ ॥
dhaae chale brij ke marabe kahu gher daso dis te ghan aachhe |
They went to kill the cows and calves,
ਕੋਪ ਭਰੇ ਅਰੁ ਬਾਰਿ ਭਰੇ ਬਧਬੇ ਕਉ ਚਲੇ ਚਰੀਆ ਜੋਊ ਬਾਛੇ ॥
kop bhare ar baar bhare badhabe kau chale chareea joaoo baachhe |
Having been filled with water and rage
ਛਿਪ੍ਰ ਚਲੇ ਕਰਬੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕਾਰਜ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲੇ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਪਾਛੇ ॥੩੫੩॥
chhipr chale karabe nrip kaaraj chhodd chale banitaa sut paachhe |353|
They left their wives and children behind and quickly left for performing the duty assigned to them by Indra.353
ਦੈਤ ਸੰਖਾਸੁਰ ਕੇ ਮਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਜਲ ਮੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਛਾ ॥
dait sankhaasur ke marabe kahu roop dhariyo jal mai jin machhaa |
He, who assumed the form of Matsya for killing the demon Shankhasur,
ਸਿੰਧੁ ਮਥਿਯੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਅਸੁਰਾਸੁਰ ਮੇਰੁ ਤਰੈ ਭਯੋ ਕਛਪ ਹਛਾ ॥
sindh mathiyo jab hee asuraasur mer tarai bhayo kachhap hachhaa |
Who seated himself as Kachh (tortoise) under the Sumeru mountain at the time of churning the ocean,
ਸੋ ਅਬ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਭਯੋ ਇਹ ਠਉਰਿ ਚਰਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਬਛਾ ॥
so ab kaanrah bhayo ih tthaur charaavat hai brij ke sabh bachhaa |
ਖੇਲ ਦਿਖਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਛਾ ॥੩੫੪॥
khel dikhaavat hai jag ko ih hai karataa sabh jeevan rachhaa |354|
The same Krishna is now grazing the cows and calves of Braja and in this way, protecting the lives of all and exhibiting the amorous play to all.354.
ਆਇਸ ਮਾਨਿ ਸਭੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਪੁਰ ਘੇਰਿ ਘਨੇ ਘਨ ਗਾਜੈ ॥
aaeis maan sabhai maghavaa har ke pur gher ghane ghan gaajai |
Obeying the orders of Indra, the clouds thundered on besieging the city,,
ਦਾਮਿਨਿ ਜਿਉ ਗਰਜੈ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਰਾਵਨ ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਬਾਜੈ ॥
daamin jiau garajai jan raam ke saamuhi raavan dundabh baajai |
, The lighting was crackling like the trumpets of Ravana resounding before Ram,
ਸੋ ਧੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਗੋਪ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਕੋ ਡਰ ਕੈ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਜੈ ॥
so dhun sraunan mai sun gop daso dis ko ddar kai utth bhaajai |
, The lighting was crackling like the trumpets of Ravana resounding before Ram,
ਆਇ ਪਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਪਾਇਨ ਆਪਨ ਜੀਵ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਕਾਜੈ ॥੩੫੫॥
aae pare har ke sabh paaein aapan jeev sahaaeik kaajai |355|
Hearing this sound, gopas ran in all the ten directions and came and fell at the feet of Krishna asking for help.355.,,
ਮੇਘਨ ਕੋ ਡਰ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਗੋਪ ਪੁਕਾਰਤ ਹੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਾਝਾ ॥
meghan ko ddar kai har saamuhi gop pukaarat hai dukh maajhaa |
Hearing this sound, gopas ran in all the ten directions and came and fell at the feet of Krishna asking for help.355.,,
ਰਛ ਕਰੋ ਹਮਰੀ ਕਰੁਨਾਨਿਧਿ ਬ੍ਰਿਸਟ ਭਈ ਦਿਨ ਅਉ ਸਤ ਸਾਝਾ ॥
rachh karo hamaree karunaanidh brisatt bhee din aau sat saajhaa |
Fearing the clouds, all he gopas, crying in agony before Krishna are saying, “O Treasure of Mercy! it is raining heavily for the last seven days and nights, kindly protect us,,
ਏਕ ਬਚੀ ਨ ਗਊ ਪੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਰਗੀ ਦੁਧਰੀ ਬਛਰੇ ਅਰੁ ਬਾਝਾ ॥
ek bachee na gaoo pur kee maragee dudharee bachhare ar baajhaa |
“The milching cows, calves and even the barren cows have not survived, all have died,,
ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਰੋਵਤ ਇਉ ਜਿਮ ਹੀਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਿਖਏ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਝਾ ॥੩੫੬॥
agraj sayaam ke rovat iau jim heer binaa pikhe pat raajhaa |356|
,,” They all began to weep before Krishna like the lover Ranjha without his beloved Heer.356.
ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਰਲਾਇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਐਸੋ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਕਬੀਰ ॥

Kabeer has seen such wonders!
ਦਧਿ ਕੈ ਭੋਲੈ ਬਿਰੋਲੈ ਨੀਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dadh kai bholai birolai neer |1| rahaau |
Mistaking it for cream, the people are churning water. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰੀ ਅੰਗੂਰੀ ਗਦਹਾ ਚਰੈ ॥
haree angooree gadahaa charai |
The donkey grazes upon the green grass;
ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਹਾਸੈ ਹੀਗੈ ਮਰੈ ॥੧॥
nit utth haasai heegai marai |1|
arising each day, he laughs and brays, and then dies. ||1||
ਮਾਤਾ ਭੈਸਾ ਅੰਮੁਹਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
maataa bhaisaa amuhaa jaae |
The bull is intoxicated, and runs around wildly.
ਕੁਦਿ ਕੁਦਿ ਚਰੈ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
kud kud charai rasaatal paae |2|
He romps and eats and then falls into hell. ||2||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਭਈ ਖੇਡ ॥
kahu kabeer paragatt bhee khedd |
Says Kabeer, a strange sport has become manifest:
ਲੇਲੇ ਕਉ ਚੂਘੈ ਨਿਤ ਭੇਡ ॥੩॥
lele kau chooghai nit bhedd |3|
the sheep is sucking the milk of her lamb. ||3||
ਰਾਮ ਰਮਤ ਮਤਿ ਪਰਗਟੀ ਆਈ ॥
raam ramat mat paragattee aaee |
Chanting the Lord's Name, my intellect is enlightened.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਗੁਰਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੪॥
kahu kabeer gur sojhee paaee |4|1|14|
Says Kabeer, the Guru has blessed me with this understanding. ||4||1||14||

ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਛੋਡਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭਇਓ ਮੀਨਾ ॥
jiau jal chhodd baahar bheo meenaa |
I am like a fish out of water,
ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਹਉ ਤਪ ਕਾ ਹੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
poorab janam hau tap kaa heenaa |1|
because in my previous life, I did not practice penance and intense meditation. ||1||
ਅਬ ਕਹੁ ਰਾਮ ਕਵਨ ਗਤਿ ਮੋਰੀ ॥
ab kahu raam kavan gat moree |
Now tell me, Lord, what will my condition be?
ਤਜੀ ਲੇ ਬਨਾਰਸ ਮਤਿ ਭਈ ਥੋਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tajee le banaaras mat bhee thoree |1| rahaau |
I left Benares - I had little common sense. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਿਵ ਪੁਰੀ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
sagal janam siv puree gavaaeaa |
I wasted my whole life in the city of Shiva;
ਮਰਤੀ ਬਾਰ ਮਗਹਰਿ ਉਠਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
maratee baar magahar utth aaeaa |2|
at the time of my death, I moved to Magahar. ||2||
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਰਸ ਤਪੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਾਸੀ ॥
bahut baras tap keea kaasee |
For many years, I practiced penance and intense meditation at Kaashi;
ਮਰਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਗਹਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਸੀ ॥੩॥
maran bheaa magahar kee baasee |3|
now that my time to die has come, I have come to dwell at Magahar! ||3||
ਕਾਸੀ ਮਗਹਰ ਸਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
kaasee magahar sam beechaaree |
Kaashi and Magahar - I consider them the same.
ਓਛੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕੈਸੇ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਪਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
ochhee bhagat kaise utaras paaree |4|
With inadequate devotion, how can anyone swim across? ||4||
ਕਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਜ ਸਿਵ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
kahu gur gaj siv sabh ko jaanai |
Says Kabeer, the Guru and Ganaysha and Shiva all know
ਮੁਆ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਰਮਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮੈ ॥੫॥੧੫॥
muaa kabeer ramat sree raamai |5|15|
that Kabeer died chanting the Lord's Name. ||5||15||
ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਚੋਆ ਚੰਦਨ ਮਰਦਨ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
choaa chandan maradan angaa |
You may anoint your limbs with sandalwood oil,
ਸੋ ਤਨੁ ਜਲੈ ਕਾਠ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਾ ॥੧॥
so tan jalai kaatth kai sangaa |1|
but in the end, that body will be burned with the firewood. ||1||
ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਧਨ ਕੀ ਕਵਨ ਬਡਾਈ ॥
eis tan dhan kee kavan baddaaee |
Why should anyone take pride in this body or wealth?
ਧਰਨਿ ਪਰੈ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dharan parai uravaar na jaaee |1| rahaau |
They shall end up lying on the ground; they shall not go along with you to the world beyond. ||1||Pause||
ਰਾਤਿ ਜਿ ਸੋਵਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਾਮ ॥
raat ji soveh din kareh kaam |
They sleep by night and work during the day,
ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਲੇਹਿ ਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥੨॥
eik khin lehi na har ko naam |2|
but they do not chant the Lord's Name, even for an instant. ||2||
ਹਾਥਿ ਤ ਡੋਰ ਮੁਖਿ ਖਾਇਓ ਤੰਬੋਰ ॥
haath ta ddor mukh khaaeo tanbor |
They hold the string of the kite in their hands, and chew betel leaves in their mouths,
ਮਰਤੀ ਬਾਰ ਕਸਿ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਚੋਰ ॥੩॥

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
guramat ras ras har gun gaavai |
Through the Guru's Teachings, and immersed in His Love, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਰਾਮੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਮਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੪॥
raamai raam ramat sukh paavai |4|
Chant the Name of the Lord, Raam, Raam, and find peace. ||4||
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ ॥
kirapaa kar kai naam drirraaee |
In His Mercy, He implants the Naam within us;
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਸੁ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਬਸਾਈ ॥੫॥
har har baas sugandh basaaee |5|
inhale deeply the sweet aroma and fragrance of the Lord, Har, Har. ||5||
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਚੇਤਿ ਰੇ ਅੰਧਾ ॥
kehat kabeer chet re andhaa |
Says Kabeer, remember Him, you blind fool!
ਸਤਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਝੂਠਾ ਸਭੁ ਧੰਧਾ ॥੬॥੧੬॥
sat raam jhootthaa sabh dhandhaa |6|16|
The Lord is True; all worldly affairs are false. ||6||16||
ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਤਿਪਦੇ ਚਾਰਤੁਕੇ₂ ॥

Gauree, Kabeer Jee, Thi-Padhay And Chau-Thukay:
ਜਮ ਤੇ ਉਲਟਿ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਰਾਮ ॥
jam te ulatt bhe hai raam |
I have turned away from death and turned to the Lord.
ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਕੀਓ ਬਿਸਰਾਮ ॥
dukh binase sukh keeo bisaraam |
Pain has been eliminated, and I dwell in peac and comfort.
ਬੈਰੀ ਉਲਟਿ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
bairee ulatt bhe hai meetaa |
My enemies have been transformed into friends.
ਸਾਕਤ ਉਲਟਿ ਸੁਜਨ ਭਏ ਚੀਤਾ ॥੧॥
saakat ulatt sujan bhe cheetaa |1|
The faithless cynics have been transformed into good-hearted people. ||1||
ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਕੁਸਲ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
ab mohi sarab kusal kar maaniaa |
Now, I feel that everything brings me peace.
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਭਈ ਜਬ ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saant bhee jab gobid jaaniaa |1| rahaau |
Peace and tranquility have come, since I realized the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਤੀ ਕੋਟਿ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥
tan meh hotee kott upaadh |
My body was afflicted with millions of diseases.
ਉਲਟਿ ਭਈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ॥
aulatt bhee sukh sehaj samaadh |
They have been transformed into the peaceful, tranquil concentration of Samaadhi.
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਆਪੈ ਆਪ ॥
aap pachhaanai aapai aap |
When someone understands his own self,
ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਤੀਨੌ ਤਾਪ ॥੨॥
rog na biaapai teenau taap |2|
he no longer suffers from illness and the three fevers. ||2||
ਅਬ ਮਨੁ ਉਲਟਿ ਸਨਾਤਨੁ ਹੂਆ ॥
ab man ulatt sanaatan hooaa |
My mind has now been restored to its original purity.
ਤਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਜਬ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੂਆ ॥
tab jaaniaa jab jeevat mooaa |
When I became dead while yet alive, only then did I come to know the Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਉ ॥
kahu kabeer sukh sehaj samaavau |
Says Kabeer, I am now immersed in intuitive peace and poise.
ਆਪਿ ਨ ਡਰਉ ਨ ਅਵਰ ਡਰਾਵਉ ॥੩॥੧੭॥
aap na ddrau na avar ddaraavau |3|17|
I do not fear anyone, and I do not strike fear into anyone else. ||3||17||
