ਐਸੋ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਜੀ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਜਾਤ ਜੀਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ॥
aiso daan dehu jee santahu jaat jeeo balihaar |
Give me that blessing, O Dear Saints, for which my soul would be a sacrifice.
ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹੀ ਪੰਚ ਦੋਹੀ ਉਰਝਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬਸਿਓ ਤਾਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਾਧੂਆ ਦੂਤ ਸੰਗੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
maan mohee panch dohee urajh nikatt basio taakee saran saadhooaa doot sang nivaar |1| rahaau |
Enticed by pride, entrapped and plundered by the five thieves, still, you live near them. I have come to the Sanctuary of the Holy, and I have been rescued from my association with those demons. ||1||Pause||
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥੧॥
kott janam jon bhramio haar pario duaar |1|
I wandered through millions of lifetimes and incarnations. I am so very tired - I have fallen at God's Door. ||1||
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਭਈ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
kirapaa gobind bhee milio naam adhaar |
The Lord of the Universe has become Kind to me; He has blessed me with the Support of the Naam.
ਦੁਲਭ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਉਤਾਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੧॥੪੫॥
dulabh janam safal naanak bhav utaar paar |2|1|45|
This precious human life has become fruitful and prosperous; O Nanak, I am carried across the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||1||45||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਆਪਨ ਆਏ ॥
sehaj subhaae aapan aae |
He Himself has come to me, in His Natural Way.
ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨੌ ਕਛੂ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥
kachhoo na jaanau kachhoo dikhaae |
I know nothing, and I show nothing.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸੁਖ ਬਾਲੇ ਭੋਲੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
prabh milio sukh baale bhole |1| rahaau |
I have met God through innocent faith, and He has blessed me with peace. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਜੋਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਾਏ ॥
sanjog milaae saadh sangaae |
By the good fortune of my destiny, I have joined the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕਤਹੂ ਨ ਜਾਏ ਘਰਹਿ ਬਸਾਏ ॥
katahoo na jaae ghareh basaae |
I do not go out anywhere; I dwell in my own home.
ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਇਹ ਚੋਲੈ ॥੧॥
gun nidhaan pragattio ih cholai |1|
God, the Treasure of Virtue, has been revealed in this body-robe. ||1||
ਚਰਨ ਲੁਭਾਏ ਆਨ ਤਜਾਏ ॥
charan lubhaae aan tajaae |
I have fallen in love with His Feet; I have abandoned everything else.
ਥਾਨ ਥਨਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
thaan thanaae sarab samaae |
In the places and interspaces, He is All-pervading.
ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਨ ਬੋਲੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੪੬॥
rasak rasak naanak gun bolai |2|1|46|
With loving joy and excitement, Nanak speaks His Praises. ||2||1||46||

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮਿਲਨ ਦੁਰਾਈਁ ॥
gobind tthaakur milan duraaee |
It is so hard to meet the Lord of the Universe, my Lord and Master.
ਪਰਮਿਤਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਅਗੰਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paramit roop agam agochar rahio sarab samaaee |1| rahaau |
His Form is Immeasurable, Inaccessible and Unfathomable; He is All-pervading everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹਨਿ ਭਵਨਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਾਇਓ ਪਾਇਓ ਅਨਿਕ ਉਕਤਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥੧॥
kehan bhavan naahee paaeo paaeo anik ukat chaturaaee |1|
By speaking and wandering, nothing is gained; nothing is obtained by clever tricks and devices. ||1||
ਜਤਨ ਜਤਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਰੇ ਤਉ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਜਉ ਕਿਰਪਾਈ ॥
jatan jatan anik upaav re tau milio jau kirapaaee |
People try all sorts of things, but the Lord is only met when He shows His Mercy.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਰੇਨਾਈ ॥੨॥੨॥੪੭॥
prabhoo deaar kripaar kripaa nidh jan naanak sant renaaee |2|2|47|
God is Kind and Compassionate, the Treasure of Mercy; servant Nanak is the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||2||2||47||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਮਾਈ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ॥
maaee simarat raam raam raam |
O mother, I meditate on the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
prabh binaa naahee hor |
Without God, there is no other at all.
ਚਿਤਵਉ ਚਰਨਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਸਨ ਨਿਸਿ ਭੋਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chitvau charanaarabind saasan nis bhor |1| rahaau |
I remember His Lotus Feet with every breath, night and day. ||1||Pause||
ਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕੀਨ ਆਪਨ ਤੂਟਤ ਨਹੀ ਜੋਰੁ ॥
laae preet keen aapan toottat nahee jor |
He loves me and makes me His Own; my union with Him shall never be broken.
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਰਬਸੋੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧੇ ਸੁਖ ਮੋਰ ॥੧॥
praan man dhan sarabaso har gun nidhe sukh mor |1|
He is my breath of life, mind, wealth and everything. The Lord is the Treasure of Virtue and Peace. ||1||
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਰਾਮ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਰਿਦ ਖੋਰਿ ॥
eet aoot raam pooran nirakhat rid khor |
Here and hereafter, the Lord is perfectly pervading; He is seen deep within the heart.
ਸੰਤ ਸਰਨ ਤਰਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਦੁਖੁ ਘੋਰ ॥੨॥੩॥੪੮॥
sant saran taran naanak binasio dukh ghor |2|3|48|
In the Sanctuary of the Saints, I am carried across; O Nanak, the terrible pain has been taken away. ||2||3||48||

ਜਨ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੰਗੇ ਅਸਨੇਹੁ ॥
jan ko prabh sange asanehu |
God's humble servant is in love with Him.
ਸਾਜਨੋ ਤੂ ਮੀਤੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੇਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saajano too meet meraa grihi terai sabh kehu |1| rahaau |
You are my Friend, my very best Friend; everything is in Your Home. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਨੁ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਤਾਨੁ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਧਨੁ ਲਖਮੀ ਸੁਤ ਦੇਹ ॥੧॥
maan maangau taan maangau dhan lakhamee sut deh |1|
I beg for honor, I beg for strength; please bless me with wealth, property and children. ||1||
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
mukat jugat bhugat pooran paramaanand param nidhaan |
You are the Technology of liberation, the Way to worldly success, the Perfect Lord of Supreme Bliss, the Transcendent Treasure.
ਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੨॥੪॥੪੯॥
bhai bhaae bhagat nihaal naanak sadaa sadaa kurabaan |2|4|49|
In the Fear of God and loving devotion, Nanak is exalted and enraptured, forever and ever a sacrifice to Him. ||2||4||49||
