ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Maajh, Third Mehl:

ਊਤਮ ਜਨਮੁ ਸੁਥਾਨਿ ਹੈ ਵਾਸਾ ॥

aootam janam suthaan hai vaasaa |

Sublime is their birth, and the place where they dwell.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਘਰ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਦਾਸਾ ॥

satigur seveh ghar maeh udaasaa |

Those who serve the True Guru remain detached in the home of their own being.

ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥

har rang raheh sadaa rang raate har ras man tripataavaniaa |1|

They abide in the Lord's Love, and constantly imbued with His Love, their minds are satisfied and fulfilled with the Lord's Essence. ||1||

ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਪੜਿ ਬੁਝਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥

hau vaaree jeeo vaaree parr bujh man vasaavaniaa |

I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who read of the Lord, who understand and enshrine Him within their minds.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੜਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਹਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

guramukh parreh har naam salaaheh dar sachai sobhaa paavaniaa |1| rahaau |

The Gurmukhs read and praise the Lord's Name; they are honored in the True Court. ||1||Pause||

ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਏ ॥

alakh abheo har rahiaa samaae |

The Unseen and Inscrutable Lord is permeating and pervading everywhere.

ਉਪਾਇ ਨ ਕਿਤੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਏ ॥

aupaae na kitee paaeaa jaae |

He cannot be obtained by any effort.

ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥

kirapaa kare taa satigur bhettai nadaree mel milaavaniaa |2|

If the Lord grants His Grace, then we come to meet the True Guru. By His Kindness, we are united in His Union. ||2||

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪੜੈ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝੈ ॥

doojai bhaae parrai nahee boojhai |

One who reads, while attached to duality, does not understand.

ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਲੂਝੈ ॥

tribidh maaeaa kaaran loojhai |

He yearns for the three-phased Maya.

ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੂਟਹਿ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥

tribidh bandhan tootteh gurasabadee gurasabadee mukat karaavaniaa |3|

The bonds of the three-phased Maya are broken by the Word of the Guru's Shabad. Through the Guru's Shabad, liberation is achieved. ||3||

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਚੰਚਲੁ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥

eihu man chanchal vas na aavai |

This unstable mind cannot be held steady.

ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥

dubidhaa laagai deh dis dhaavai |

Attached to duality, it wanders in the ten directions.

ਬਿਖੁ ਕਾ ਕੀੜਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਪਚਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥

bikh kaa keerraa bikh meh raataa bikh hee maeh pachaavaniaa |4|

It is a poisonous worm, drenched with poison, and in poison it rots away. ||4||

ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰੇ ਤੈ ਆਪੁ ਜਣਾਏ ॥

hau hau kare tai aap janaae |

Practicing egotism and selfishness, they try to impress others by showing off.

ਬਹੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥

bahu karam karai kichh thaae na paae |

They perform all sorts of rituals, but they gain no acceptance.

ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਬਖਸੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥

tujh te baahar kichhoo na hovai bakhase sabad suhaavaniaa |5|

Without You, Lord, nothing happens at all. You forgive those who are adorned with the Word of Your Shabad. ||5||

ਉਪਜੈ ਪਚੈ ਹਰਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

aupajai pachai har boojhai naahee |

They are born, and they die, but they do not understand the Lord.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥

anadin doojai bhaae firaahee |

Night and day, they wander, in love with duality.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਹੈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥

manamukh janam geaa hai birathaa ant geaa pachhutaavaniaa |6|

The lives of the self-willed manmukhs are useless; in the end, they die, regretting and repenting. ||6||

ਪਿਰੁ ਪਰਦੇਸਿ ਸਿਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਏ ॥

pir parades sigaar banaae |

The Husband is away, and the wife is getting dressed up.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅੰਧੁ ਐਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਏ ॥

manamukh andh aise karam kamaae |

This is what the blind, self-willed manmukhs are doing.

ਹਲਤਿ ਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਲਤਿ ਨ ਢੋਈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥

halat na sobhaa palat na dtoee birathaa janam gavaavaniaa |7|

They are not honored in this world, and they shall find no shelter in the world hereafter. They are wasting their lives in vain. ||7||

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜਾਤਾ ॥

har kaa naam kinai viralai jaataa |

How rare are those who know the Name of the Lord!

ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥

poore gur kai sabad pachhaataa |

Through the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru, the Lord is realized.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥

anadin bhagat kare din raatee sahaje hee sukh paavaniaa |8|

Night and day, they perform the Lord's devotional service; day and night, they find intuitive peace. ||8||

ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਈ ॥

sabh meh varatai eko soee |

That One Lord is pervading in all.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥

guramukh viralaa boojhai koee |

Only a few, as Gurmukh, understand this.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਜਨ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੯॥੨੯॥੩੦॥

naanak naam rate jan soheh kar kirapaa aap milaavaniaa |9|29|30|

O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam are beautiful. Granting His Grace, God unites them with Himself. ||9||29||30||

ਦੁਹਾਂ ਕੰਧਾਰਾਂ ਮੁਹਿ ਜੁੜੇ ਸਟ ਪਈ ਜਮਧਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

duhaan kandhaaraan muhi jurre satt pee jamadhaan kau |

The trumpet, enveloped by the hide of the male buffalo, the vehicle of Yama, was beaten and both the armies faced each other.

ਤਦ ਖਿੰਗ ਨਸੁੰਭ ਨਚਾਇਆ ਡਾਲ ਉਪਰਿ ਬਰਗਸਤਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

tad khing nasunbh nachaaeaa ddaal upar baragasataan kau |

Then Nisumbh caused the horse to dance, putting on his back the saddle-armour.

ਫੜੀ ਬਿਲੰਦ ਮਗਾਇਉਸ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਸ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਲਤਾਨ ਕਉ ॥

farree biland magaaeiaus furamaaeis kar mulataan kau |

She held the big bow, which was caused to be brought on order form Musltan.

ਗੁਸੇ ਆਈ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰਣ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਘਤਣ ਘਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

guse aaee saahamane ran andar ghatan ghaan kau |

In her fury, she came in front in order to fill the battlefield with the mud of blood and fat.

ਅਗੈ ਤੇਗ ਵਗਾਈ ਦੁਰਗਸਾਹ ਬਢ ਸੁੰਭਨ ਬਹੀ ਪਲਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

agai teg vagaaee duragasaah badt sunbhan bahee palaan kau |

Durga struck the sword in front of her, cutting the demon-king, penetrated through the horse-saddle.

ਰੜਕੀ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਧਰਤ ਕਉ ਬਢ ਪਾਖਰ ਬਢ ਕਿਕਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

rarrakee jaae kai dharat kau badt paakhar badt kikaan kau |

Then it penetrated further and struck the earth after cutting the saddle-armour and the horse.

ਬੀਰ ਪਲਾਣੋ ਡਿਗਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਸੁੰਭ ਸੁਜਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

beer palaano ddigiaa kar sijadaa sunbh sujaan kau |

The great hero (Nisumbh) fell down from the horse-saddle, offering salutation to the wise Sumbh.

ਸਾਬਾਸ ਸਲੋਣੇ ਖਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

saabaas salone khaan kau |

Hail, hail, to the winsome chieftain (Khan).

ਸਦਾ ਸਾਬਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਤਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

sadaa saabaas tere taan kau |

Hail, hail, ever to thy strength.

ਤਾਰੀਫਾਂ ਪਾਨ ਚਬਾਣ ਕਉ ॥

taareefaan paan chabaan kau |

Praises are offered for the chewing of betel.

ਸਦ ਰਹਮਤ ਕੈਫਾਂ ਖਾਨ ਕਉ ॥

sad rahamat kaifaan khaan kau |

Hail, hail to thy addiction.

ਸਦ ਰਹਮਤ ਤੁਰੇ ਨਚਾਣ ਕਉ ॥੫੦॥

sad rahamat ture nachaan kau |50|

Hail hail, to thy horse-control.50.

ਦੁਰਗਾ ਅਤੈ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਗਹ ਸੰਘਰਿ ਕਥੇ ॥

duragaa atai daanavee geh sanghar kathe |

Durga and demons sounded their trumpets, in the remarkable war.

ਓਰੜ ਉਠੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਆਇ ਡਾਹੇ ਮਥੇ ॥

orarr utthe soorame aae ddaahe mathe |

The warriors arose in great numbers and have come to fight.

ਕਟ ਤੁਫੰਗੀ ਕੈਬਰੀ ਦਲ ਗਾਹਿ ਨਿਕਥੇ ॥

katt tufangee kaibaree dal gaeh nikathe |

They have come to tread through the forces in order to destroy (the enemy) with guns and arrows.

ਦੇਖਣਿ ਜੰਗ ਫਰੇਸਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨੋ ਲਥੇ ॥੫੧॥

dekhan jang faresate asamaano lathe |51|

The angels come down (to the earth) from the sky in order to see the war.51.

ਦੋਹਾਂ ਕੰਧਾਰਾਂ ਮੁਹ ਜੁੜੇ ਦਲ ਘੁਰੇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥

dohaan kandhaaraan muh jurre dal ghure nagaare |

The trumpets have sounded in the army and both the forces face each other.

ਓਰੜ ਆਏ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸਿਰਦਾਰ ਅਣਿਆਰੇ ॥

orarr aae soorame siradaar aniaare |

The chief and brave warriors swayed in the field.

ਲੈ ਕੇ ਤੇਗਾਂ ਬਰਛੀਆਂ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਉਭਾਰੇ ॥

lai ke tegaan barachheean hathiaar ubhaare |

They raised their weapons including the swords and daggers.

ਟੋਪ ਪਟੇਲਾ ਪਾਖਰਾਂ ਗਲਿ ਸੰਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥

ttop pattelaa paakharaan gal sanj savaare |

They have bedecked themselves with helmets on their heads, and armour around their necks alongwith their horse-sddles with belts.

ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਰਛੀ ਦੁਰਗਸਾਹ ਬਹੁ ਦਾਨਵ ਮਾਰੇ ॥

lai ke barachhee duragasaah bahu daanav maare |

Durga holding her dagger, killed many demons.

ਚੜੇ ਰਥੀ ਗਜ ਘੋੜਿਈ ਮਾਰ ਭੁਇ ਤੇ ਡਾਰੇ ॥

charre rathee gaj ghorriee maar bhue te ddaare |

She killed and threw those on the round who were riding chariots, elephants and horses.

ਜਣੁ ਹਲਵਾਈ ਸੀਖ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਵੜੇ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੫੨॥

jan halavaaee seekh naal vinh varre utaare |52|

It appear that the confectioner has cooked small round cakes of grounded pulse, piercing them with a spike.52.

ਦੁਹਾਂ ਕੰਧਾਰਾਂ ਮੁਹਿ ਜੁੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਧਉਸਾ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

duhaan kandhaaraan muhi jurre naal dhausaa bhaaree |

Alongwith the sounding of the large trumpet, both the forces faced each other.

ਲਈ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਦੁਰਗਸਾਹ ਵਰ ਜਾਗਨ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

lee bhgautee duragasaah var jaagan bhaaree |

Durga held out her sword, appearing like great lustrous fire

ਲਾਈ ਰਾਜੇ ਸੁੰਭ ਨੋ ਰਤੁ ਪੀਐ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥

laaee raaje sunbh no rat peeai piaaree |

She struck it on the king Sumbh and this lovely weapon drinks blood.

ਸੁੰਭ ਪਾਲਾਣੋ ਡਿਗਿਆ ਉਪਮਾ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥

sunbh paalaano ddigiaa upamaa beechaaree |

Sumbh fell down from the saddle for which the following simile hath been thought.

ਡੁਬ ਰਤੂ ਨਾਲਹੁ ਨਿਕਲੀ ਬਰਛੀ ਦੁਧਾਰੀ ॥

ddub ratoo naalahu nikalee barachhee dudhaaree |

That the double-edged dagger, smeared with blood, which hath come out (from the body of Sumbh)

ਜਾਣ ਰਜਾਦੀ ਉਤਰੀ ਪੈਨ ਸੂਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੫੩॥

jaan rajaadee utaree pain soohee saaree |53|

Seems like a princess coming down from her loft, wearing the red sari.53.

PAURI

ਦੁਰਗਾ ਅਤੈ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਭੇੜ ਪਇਆ ਸਬਾਹੀਂ ॥

duragaa atai daanavee bherr peaa sabaaheen |

The war between Durga and the demons started early in the morning.

ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਪਜੂਤੇ ਦੁਰਗਸਾਹ ਗਹ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਬਾਹੀਂ ॥

sasatr pajoote duragasaah geh sabhaneen baaheen |

Durga held her weapons firmly in all her arms.

ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਆ ਵਥ ਜੇਹੇ ਸਾਹੀਂ ॥

sunbh nisunbh sanghaariaa vath jehe saaheen |

She killed both Sumbh and Nisumbh, who were the masters of all the materials.

ਫਉਜਾਂ ਰਾਕਸਿ ਆਰੀਆਂ ਦੇਖਿ ਰੋਵਨਿ ਧਾਹੀਂ ॥

faujaan raakas aareean dekh rovan dhaaheen |

Seeing this, the helpless forces of the demons, weep bitterly.

ਮੁਹਿ ਕੁੜੂਚੇ ਘਾਹ ਦੇ ਛਡ ਘੋੜੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ॥

muhi kurrooche ghaah de chhadd ghorre raaheen |

Accepting their defeat (by putting the straws of grass in their mouth), and leaving their horses in the way

ਭਜਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਾਰੀਅਨ ਮੁੜ ਝਾਕਨ ਨਾਹੀਂ ॥੫੪॥

bhajade hoe maareean murr jhaakan naaheen |54|

They are being killed, while fleeing, without looking back.54.

PAURI

ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਪਠਾਇਆ ਜਮ ਦੇ ਧਾਮ ਨੋ ॥

sunbh nisunbh patthaaeaa jam de dhaam no |

Sumbh and Nisumbh were dispatched to the abode of Yama

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਦ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਰਾਜ ਅਭਿਸੇਖ ਨੋ ॥

eindr sad bulaaeaa raaj abhisekh no |

And Indra was called for crowning him.

ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਜੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦੈ ॥

sir par chhatr firaaeaa raaje indr dai |

The canopy was held up over the head of king Indra.

ਚਉਦਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਛਾਇਆ ਜਸੁ ਜਗਮਾਤ ਦਾ ॥

chaudah lokaan chhaaeaa jas jagamaat daa |

The praise of the mother of the universe spread over all the fourteen worlds.

ਦੁਰਗਾ ਪਾਠ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸਭੇ ਪਉੜੀਆਂ ॥

duragaa paatth banaaeaa sabhe paurreean |

All the Pauris (stanza) of this DURGA PATH (The text about the exploits of Durga) have been composed

ਫੇਰ ਨ ਜੂਨੀ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਨ ਇਹ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੫੫॥

fer na joonee aaeaa jin ih gaaeaa |55|

And that person who sings it, will not take birth again.55.

Gyan PrabodhGuru Guru Gobind Singh

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik oankaar satigur prasaad |

The Lord is One and He can be attained through the grace of the true Guru.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਸਹਾਇ ॥

sree bhgautee jee sahaae |

Let the Lord (The Primal Lord, who known as Sri Bhagauti Ji—The Primal Mother) be helpful.

ਅਥ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਲਿਖ︀ਯਤੇ ॥

ath giaan prabodh granth likhayate |

Thus the book named GYAN PRABODH (Unforldment of Knowledge) is being written.

BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA BY THY GRACE.

ਨਮੋ ਨਾਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਧ ਕਰਮੰ ॥

namo naath poore sadaa sidh karaman |

Salutation to Thee, O Perfectt Lord! Thou art the Doer of Perfect Karmas (actions).

ਅਛੇਦੀ ਅਭੇਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਏਕ ਧਰਮੰ ॥

achhedee abhedee sadaa ek dharaman |

Thou art Unassailable, Indiscriminate and ever of One Discipline.

ਕਲੰਕੰ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਿਹਕਲੰਕੀ ਸਰੂਪੇ ॥

kalankan binaa nihakalankee saroope |

Thou art without blemishes, O Unblemished entity.

ਅਛੇਦੰ ਅਭੇਦੰ ਅਖੇਦੰ ਅਨੂਪੇ ॥੧॥

achhedan abhedan akhedan anoope |1|

Invvincible, Unmysterious, Unharmed and Unequalled Lord.1.

ਨਮੋ ਲੋਕ ਲੋਕੇਸ੍ਵਰੰ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਥੇ ॥

namo lok lokesvaran lok naathe |

Salutation to Thee, O the Lord of people and Master of all.

ਸਦੈਵੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਰਬ ਸਾਥੰ ਅਨਾਥੇ ॥

sadaivan sadaa sarab saathan anaathe |

Thou art ever the Comrade and Lord of the patronless.

ਨੋਮ ਏਕ ਰੂਪੰ ਅਨੇਕੰ ਸਰੂਪੇ ॥

nom ek roopan anekan saroope |

Salutation to Thee, O One Lord pervading in many forms.

ਸਦਾ ਸਰਬ ਸਾਹੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਰਬ ਭੂਪੇ ॥੨॥

sadaa sarab saahan sadaa sarab bhoope |2|

Always the king of all and always the monarch of all.2.

ਅਛੇਦੰ ਅਭੇਦੰ ਅਨਾਮੰ ਅਠਾਮੰ ॥

achhedan abhedan anaaman atthaaman |

Thou art unassailable, indiscriminate, without Name and place.

Thou art the Master of all powers and the home of intellect,

ਅਜੰਤ੍ਰੰ ਅਮੰਤ੍ਰੰ ਅਕੰਤ੍ਰੰ ਅਭਰੰਮੰ ॥

ajantran amantran akantran abharaman |

Thou art neither in yantras, nor in mantras, nor in other activities nor in any religious discipline.

ਅਖੇਦੰ ਅਭੇਦੰ ਅਛੇਦੰ ਅਕਰਮੰ ॥੩॥

Thou art without suffering. without mystery, without destruction and without action.3.

ਅਗਾਧੇ ਅਬਾਧੇ ਅਗੰਤੰ ਅਨੰਤੰ ॥

agaadhe abaadhe agantan anantan |

Thou art unfathomable, unattached, inaccessible and endless.

ਅਲੇਖੰ ਅਭੇਖੰ ਅਭੂਤੰ ਅਗੰਤੰ ॥

alekhan abhekhan abhootan agantan |

Thou art accountless, guiseless, elementless and innumerable.

ਨ ਰੰਗੰ ਨ ਰੂਪੰ ਨ ਜਾਤੰ ਨ ਪਾਤੰ ॥

n rangan na roopan na jaatan na paatan |

Thou art without colour, form, caste and lineage.

ਨ ਸਤ੍ਰੋ ਨ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੋ ਨ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੋ ਨ ਮਾਤੰ ॥੪॥

n satro na mitro na putro na maatan |4|

Thou art without enemy, friend, son and mother.4.

ਅਭੂਤੰ ਅਭੰਗੰ ਅਭਿਖੰ ਭਵਾਨੰ ॥

abhootan abhangan abhikhan bhavaanan |

Thou art element less, indivisible, want less and only Thyself.

ਪਰੇਯੰ ਪੁਨੀਤੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨੰ ॥

pareyan puneetan pavitran pradhaanan |

Thou art beyond everything. Thou art holy, immaculate and supreme.

ਅਗੰਜੇ ਅਭੰਜੇ ਅਕਾਮੰ ਅਕਰਮੰ ॥

aganje abhanje akaaman akaraman |

Thou art invincible, indivisible, without desires and actions.

ਅਨੰਤੇ ਬਿਅੰਤੇ ਅਭੂਮੇ ਅਭਰਮੰ ॥੫॥

anante biante abhoome abharaman |5|

Thou art endless, boundless, all-pervasive and illusionless.5.

ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨ ਜਾਈ ਕਛੂ ਰੂਪ ਰੇਖੰ ॥

nahee jaan jaaee kachhoo roop rekhan |

His form and mark cannot be comprehended at all.

ਕਹਾ ਬਾਸੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਫਿਰੈ ਕਉਨ ਭੇਖੰ ॥

kahaa baas taa ko firai kaun bhekhan |

Where doth He live? and in what guise He moves?

ਕਹਾ ਨਾਮ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਹਾ ਕੈ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥

kahaa naam taa ko kahaa kai kahaavai |

What is His Name? and how is He called?

ਕਹਾ ਮੈ ਬਖਾਨੋ ਕਹੈ ਮੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੬॥

kahaa mai bakhaano kahai mai na aavai |6|

What should I say? I lack expression.6.

ਅਜੋਨੀ ਅਜੈ ਪਰਮ ਰੂਪੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨੈ ॥

ajonee ajai param roopee pradhaanai |

He is Unborn, Unconquerable, Most beautiful and Supreme.

ਅਛੇਦੀ ਅਭੇਦੀ ਅਰੂਪੀ ਮਹਾਨੈ ॥

achhedee abhedee aroopee mahaanai |

He is Unassailable, Indiscriminate, Formless and Unmatchable.

ਅਸਾਧੇ ਅਗਾਧੇ ਅਗੰਜੁਲ ਗਨੀਮੇ ॥

asaadhe agaadhe aganjul ganeeme |

He is Incorrigible, Unfathomable, and Indestructible by enemies.

ਅਰੰਜੁਲ ਅਰਾਧੇ ਰਹਾਕੁਲ ਰਹੀਮੇ ॥੭॥

aranjul araadhe rahaakul raheeme |7|

He, who rememberest Thee, Thou makest him griefless, He is the Deliverer and Merciful Lord.7.

ਸਦਾ ਸਰਬਦਾ ਸਿਧਦਾ ਬੁਧਿ ਦਾਤਾ ॥

sadaa sarabadaa sidhadaa budh daataa |

He is ever the Giver of Power and intellect to all.

ਨਮੋ ਲੋਕ ਲੋਕੇਸ੍ਵਰੰ ਲੋਕ ਗ︀ਯਾਤਾ ॥

namo lok lokesvaran lok gayaataa |

Salutations to Him, the Knower of the secrets of the people and their Lord.

ਅਛੇਦੀ ਅਭੈ ਆਦਿ ਰੂਪੰ ਅਨੰਤੰ ॥

achhedee abhai aad roopan anantan |

He is unassailable, fearless, the Primal Entity and Boundless.

ਅਛੇਦੀ ਅਛੈ ਆਦਿ ਅਦ੍ਵੈ ਦੁਰੰਤੰ ॥੮॥

achhedee achhai aad advai durantan |8|

He is unassailable, invincible, Primal, non-dual and very difficult to realise.8.
