ਮੋਹਿ ਦੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਆਪਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ॥
mohi duhaagan aap seegaaree |
I was discarded and abandoned, but He has embellished me.
ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
roop rang de naam savaaree |
He has blessed me with beauty and His Love; through His Name, I am exalted.
ਮਿਟਿਓ ਦੁਖੁ ਅਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥
mittio dukh ar sagal santaap |
All my pains and sorrows have been eradicated.
ਗੁਰ ਹੋਏ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਈ ਬਾਪ ॥੧॥
gur hoe mere maaee baap |1|
The Guru has become my Mother and Father. ||1||
ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਗ੍ਰਸਤਿ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
sakhee saheree merai grasat anand |
O my friends and companions, my household is in bliss.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭੇਟੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਕੰਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa bhette mohi kant |1| rahaau |
Granting His Grace, my Husband Lord has met me. ||1||Pause||
ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭ ਆਸਾ ॥
tapat bujhee pooran sabh aasaa |
The fire of desire has been extinguished, and all my desires have been fulfilled.
ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਭਏ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
mitte andher bhe paragaasaa |
The darkness has been dispelled, and the Divine Light blazes forth.
ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦ ਅਚਰਜ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
anahad sabad acharaj bisamaad |
The Unstruck Sound-current of the Shabad, the Word of God, is wondrous and amazing!
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਰਸਾਦ ॥੨॥
gur pooraa pooraa parasaad |2|
Perfect is the Grace of the Perfect Guru. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
jaa kau pragatt bhe gopaal |
That person, unto whom the Lord reveals Himself
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
taa kai darasan sadaa nihaal |
by the Blessed Vision of his Darshan, I am forever enraptured.
ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣਾ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
sarab gunaa taa kai bahut nidhaan |
He obtains all virtues and so many treasures.
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਓ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੩॥
jaa kau satigur deeo naam |3|
The True Guru blesses him with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
jaa kau bhettio tthaakur apanaa |
That person who meets with his Lord and Master
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥
man tan seetal har har japanaa |
his mind and body are cooled and soothed, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਏ ॥
kahu naanak jo jan prabh bhaae |
Says Nanak, such a humble being is pleasing to God;
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਨੁ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਕੋ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੨੭॥
taa kee ren biralaa ko paae |4|14|27|
only a rare few are blessed with the dust of his feet. ||4||14||27||

Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:
ਚਿਤਵਤ ਪਾਪ ਨ ਆਲਕੁ ਆਵੈ ॥
chitavat paap na aalak aavai |
The mortal does not hesitate to think about sin.
ਬੇਸੁਆ ਭਜਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹ ਸਰਮਾਵੈ ॥
besuaa bhajat kichh neh saramaavai |
He is not ashamed to spend time with prostitutes.
ਸਾਰੋ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਮਜੂਰੀ ਕਰੈ ॥
saaro dinas majooree karai |
He works all day long,
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀ ਵੇਲਾ ਬਜਰ ਸਿਰਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੧॥
har simaran kee velaa bajar sir parai |1|
but when it is time to remember the Lord, then a heavy stone falls on his head. ||1||
ਮਾਇਆ ਲਗਿ ਭੂਲੋ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
maaeaa lag bhoolo sansaar |
Attached to Maya, the world is deluded and confused.
ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਭੁਲਾਵਣਹਾਰੈ ਰਾਚਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aap bhulaaeaa bhulaavanahaarai raach rahiaa birathaa biauhaar |1| rahaau |
The Deluder Himself has deluded the mortal, and now he is engrossed in worthless worldly affairs. ||1||Pause||
ਪੇਖਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਬਿਹਾਇ ॥
pekhat maaeaa rang bihaae |
Gazing on Maya's illusion, its pleasures pass away.
ਗੜਬੜ ਕਰੈ ਕਉਡੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
garrabarr karai kauddee rang laae |
He loves the shell, and ruins his life.
ਅੰਧ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਬੰਧ ਮਨੁ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
andh biauhaar bandh man dhaavai |
Bound to blind worldly affairs, his mind wavers and wanders.
ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਨ ਜੀਅ ਮਹਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥
karanaihaar na jeea meh aavai |2|
The Creator Lord does not come into his mind. ||2||
ਕਰਤ ਕਰਤ ਇਵ ਹੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
karat karat iv hee dukh paaeaa |
Working and working like this, he only obtains pain,
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਤ ਨ ਕਾਰਜ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
pooran hot na kaaraj maaeaa |
and his affairs of Maya are never completed.
ਕਾਮਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਲੋਭਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
kaam krodh lobh man leenaa |
His mind is saturated with sexual desire, anger and greed.
ਤੜਫਿ ਮੂਆ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੀਨਾ ॥੩॥
tarraf mooaa jiau jal bin meenaa |3|
Wiggling like a fish out of water, he dies. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ॥
jis ke raakhe hoe har aap |
One who has the Lord Himself as his Protector,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
har har naam sadaa jap jaap |
chants and meditates forever on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
saadhasang har ke gun gaaeaa |
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੮॥
naanak satigur pooraa paaeaa |4|15|28|
O Nanak, he has found the Perfect True Guru. ||4||15||28||

Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ॥
apanee deaa kare so paae |
He alone obtains it, unto whom the Lord shows Mercy.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
har kaa naam man vasaae |
He enshrines the Name of the Lord in his mind.
ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦੁ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
saach sabad hirade man maeh |
With the True Word of the Shabad in his heart and mind,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
janam janam ke kilavikh jaeh |1|
the sins of countless incarnations vanish. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
raam naam jeea ko aadhaar |
The Lord's Name is the Support of the soul.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਪਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰਿ ਲਏ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parasaad japahu nit bhaaee taar le saagar sansaar |1| rahaau |
By Guru's Grace, chant the Name continually, O Siblings of Destiny; It shall carry you across the world-ocean. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
jin kau likhiaa har ehu nidhaan |
Those who have this treasure of the Lord's Name written in their destiny,
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
se jan daragah paaveh maan |
those humble beings are honored in the Court of the Lord.
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
sookh sehaj aanand gun gaau |
Singing His Glorious Praises with peace, poise and bliss,
ਆਗੈ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥੨॥
aagai milai nithaave thaau |2|
even the homeless obtain a home hereafter. ||2||
ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੰਤਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਤਤੁ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
jugah jugantar ihu tat saar |
Throughout the ages, this has been the essence of reality.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਣੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
har simaran saachaa beechaar |
Meditate in remembrance on the Lord, and contemplate the Truth.
ਜਿਸੁ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
jis larr laae le so laagai |
He alone is attached to the hem of the Lord's robe, whom the Lord Himself attaches.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੩॥
janam janam kaa soeaa jaagai |3|
Asleep for countless incarnations, he now awakens. ||3||
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਾ ਆਪਿ ॥
tere bhagat bhagatan kaa aap |
Your devotees belong to You, and You belong to Your devotees.
ਅਪਣੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
apanee mahimaa aape jaap |
You Yourself inspire them to chant Your Praises.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
jeea jant sabh terai haath |
All beings and creatures are in Your Hands.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਥਿ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੯॥
naanak ke prabh sad hee saath |4|16|29|
Nanak's God is always with him. ||4||16||29||

ਸੋ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਿਸਾਨੀ ॥
so man bheetar adhik risaanee |
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜਤਨ ਕਿਯਾ ਕਰਿਯੈ ॥
man meh kahiyo jatan kiyaa kariyai |
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਇਨ ਰਨਿਯਨ ਕੌ ਮਰਿਯੈ ॥੩॥

ਹੋ ਜਿਨ ਕਲਿ ਮੈ ਸਵਤਿਨ ਸੌ ਅਤਿ ਹਿਤ ਰਾਖਿਯੋ ॥੪॥
ho jin kal mai savatin sau at hit raakhiyo |4|
ਨਦੀ ਤੀਰ ਇਕ ਰਚਿਯੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਨਾਲੈ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
nadee teer ik rachiyo trinaalai jaae kai |
ਆਪ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਵਤਿਨ ਸੌ ਬਚਨ ਬਨਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
aap kahiyo savatin sau bachan banaae kai |
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸਖੀ ਹਮ ਤਹਾ ਸਕਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
sunahu sakhee ham tahaa sakal mil jaae hai |
ਹੋ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਮਨ ਭਾਵਤ ਤਹ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਇ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ho ham tum man bhaavat teh bhog kamaae hai |5|
ਲੈ ਸਵਤਿਨ ਕੌ ਸੰਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਨਾਲੈ ਮੌ ਗਈ ॥
lai savatin kau sang trinaalai mau gee |
ਰਾਜਾ ਪੈ ਇਕ ਪਠੈ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਦੇਤ ਭੀ ॥
raajaa pai ik patthai sahacharee det bhee |
ਨਾਥ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਤਹੀ ਤੁਮ ਆਇਯੋ ॥
naath kripaa kar adhik tahee tum aaeiyo |
ਹੋ ਮਨ ਭਾਵਤ ਰਾਨਿਨ ਸੋ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਇਯੋ ॥੬॥
ho man bhaavat raanin so bhog kamaaeiyo |6|
ਸਵਤਿ ਸਖਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਹਿਤ ਤਹਾ ਸਭ ਲ︀ਯਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
savat sakhin ke sahit tahaa sabh layaae kai |
ਰੋਕਿ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਿ ਪਾਵਕ ਕੌ ਦਯੋ ਲਗਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
rok dvaar paavak kau dayo lagaae kai |
ਕਿਸੂ ਕਾਜ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ਗਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਪੁ ਟਰਿ ॥
kisoo kaaj ke het gee triy aap ttar |
ਹੋ ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸਭ ਰਾਨਿਨ ਕੌ ਦਿਯਾ ਜਰਾਇ ਕਰਿ ॥੭॥
ho ih chhal sabh raanin kau diyaa jaraae kar |7|

ਤੁਮ ਅਬ ਤਹਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਗੁ ਧਾਰਹੁ ॥
tum ab tahaa aap pag dhaarahu |
ਜਰਤ ਅਗਨਿ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਉਬਾਰਹੁ ॥
jarat agan te triyan ubaarahu |
ਬੈਠਨ ਸੌ ਕਛੁ ਹੇਤੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
baitthan sau kachh het na keejai |
ਮੋਰੀ ਕਹੀ ਕਾਨ ਧਰਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੯॥

ਵੈ ਉਤ ਜਰਤ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
vai ut jarat tihaaree naaree |
ਤੁਮ ਹੋ ਬੈਠ ਗਰਬ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
tum ho baitth garab kar bhaaree |
ਰਾਇ ਉਠਹੁ ਤਿਨ ਐਂਚ ਨਿਕਾਰਹੁ ॥
raae utthahu tin ainch nikaarahu |
ਸਾਚ ਝੂਠ ਮੁਰ ਬਚ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰਹੁ ॥੧੦॥

ਬੈਨ ਸੁਨਤ ਮੂਰਖ ਉਠਿ ਧਯੋ ॥

ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਨ ਪਾਵਤ ਭਯੋ ॥
bhed abhed na paavat bhayo |
ਤਜਿ ਬਿਲੰਬ ਅਬਿਲੰਬ ਸਿਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
